  1. When the f*** did Tampa trade Iwamura. Man I would've loved to get in on that action.
  2. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 8, 2009 -> 10:21 PM) Well if Rios and Teahen can get back to their 2006/2007 levels of production, along with a healthy CQ, our offense is dramatically improved from a year ago even if we don't add a thing from this point on. Of course, those are three BIG ifs. Huge huge ifs
  3. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 8, 2009 -> 10:09 PM) With the Sox acquisitions as of late, if they get Putz, and if they can all turn the clock back to 2006 or 2007, the Sox should have no problem with the AL Central. not without 1-2 major offensive peices. Our offense is really really bad as it stands
  4. QUOTE (kwolf68 @ Dec 8, 2009 -> 04:21 PM) Can this guy play in the OF anymore? What is the fixartion with aging veterans? I guess given the ALC is a division that is rebuilding, Williams thinks he can try to sneak another division title out of it before these players go down to the Social Security Administration and apply for their benefits. Who else is available that can give Matsui type numbers at DH>? We need offense bad
  5. It would be interesting. We would probably have the best rotation in the history of baseball that didnt make the playoffs, because our offense would suck so bad. In other words, KW doesn't have nearly enough money to get Halladay and some offense.
  6. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Dec 7, 2009 -> 05:36 PM) I guess I would be okay if we signed Matsui AND someone to play LF (Crisp, Pods)... Just ok? I'd do f***ing 80 million cartwheels.
  7. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Dec 7, 2009 -> 05:17 PM) You cannot have an outfield with Matsui/Rios/Quentin. Rios is a good defender, but he's not that good... Hell, I don't think there's a center fielder alive that can cover that much ground. If we don't get some more offense it won't matter what our outfield defense is like. Though I agree Matsui can't play the outfield. The fact that we won't get him just to play offense frustates the hell outta me.
  8. Ugh I hope KW acts sooner rather than later. Thinking of that OF makes my head explode
  9. Ugh rotating DH including Flowers and Kotsay is scary as crap
  10. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Nov 24, 2009 -> 06:29 PM) Crisp for Podsednik, Rios for Dye. You aren't helping
  11. Crisp for Dye. That seems like a good switch.
  12. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 24, 2009 -> 12:34 PM) 3.75 ERA, 1.36 WHIP with the Sox Definitely could have given up a few less baserunners, but you can do way way worse for a middle reliever. The Cubs just got a few prospects from Zona for Heilman who was worse than Pena What was his inherited runners scored? How many games did he blow or lose? I don't have any numbers right in front of me but one of the most vivid things I can remember from this past season was Pena pitching terribly when we were still kinda in it. I remember telling myself that if he was a major part of the bullpen in 2010 we'd be screwed. But I don't have the tiem to look up the numbers today so I'm just going to have to be anecdotal.
  13. The thought of having Teahen at RF or 1b, when it is such a premium hitting position is very scary.
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 20, 2009 -> 02:14 PM) We actually need some power on our bench On the bench? Hell we need some power in the lineup! (I like this move though)
  15. So it's possible we go in with a lineup of: Beckham Kotsay CQ Konerko AJ Rios Ramirez Teahen And then whatever bat KW gets? If he gets one? Man I hope thats some major sandbaggin
  16. Yah thats way too much, but I'm scared to death to be losing 2 of our better offensive players from last year off of an atrocious offense. KW better have some real nice tricks up his sleeve.
  17. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Nov 6, 2009 -> 03:22 PM) It's time to move on. He has become a role player without a position at this point. I hope this team has its' sights set a little higher. I'm sure their sights are set a little higher, but I'm not sure they have the means to get to those heights. We still need a RF and bullpen help
  18. Highest AVG and highest OBP (other than Thome) on a team whose offense sucked and we don't want to bring him back. Sounds like a plan!!!!
  19. I'm just not a big fan, but I guess it doesnt matter all that much. Teahen will likely put up Getz type numbers next year. So now the question is what the hell we do with RF and DH now that Pods isn't coming back. The one f***ing guy that hit and got on base and we're not gonna bring him back.
  20. QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 5, 2009 -> 12:35 PM) Seriously, you would have thought we just traded Danks and Beckham for Teahen judging by the reaction in this thread. Fields obviously was done with the organization, and Getz, as I've said all along, was never going to be more than a #8 or 9 hitter. Here's my thought on it. Starting pitching isn't the reason we lost last year (other than Jose sucking a bunch early). It was offense and bullpen. So far we have not resigned one of our better hitters last year (and we most likely won't), picked up a guy with a .754 OPS. I know I'm freaking out, I know it's not totally logical, but I keep having visions of the following and it scares me to death. Nix 2B Beckham 3B CQ LF PK 1B Kotsay DH AJ C Rios CF Teahen RF Alexei SS AHHHHHH
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 5, 2009 -> 12:34 PM) I don't mind an outfield of Quentin/Rios/Teahen as long as we can get a solid DH for cheap. We just did today! Mark Kotsay!
