  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 12, 2009 -> 04:25 PM) But hey, KW didn't acquire him to help this season! Haha. Man I love KW to death, but that was just an awful move.
  2. If we have Rios on this team but not Pods next year...well, I don't know what I'll do.
  3. Don't worry Rios. You soon won't be the only person hitting under .100 in September.
  4. Hey btw let's be sure to get rid of that Podsednik guy in the offseason.
  5. Ozzie is using Pena because that was a big KW trade to solidify the pen for the next couple of years, so Oz is hoping he can turn it on for when he's the main RH setup man next year when we can't get anybody else.
  6. We just have to hope and pray that he's good next year. This three year trends aren't positive, but hopefully they can work with him and fire him up and he'll have a good season.
  7. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 2, 2009 -> 01:33 PM) Dude. We get it. He sucks. I was actually trying to be encouraging
  8. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Sep 2, 2009 -> 01:32 PM) Alright Rios show us what we are paying you 10 mil + for!!!! Well I hope that's not it
  9. Alright Rios show us what we are paying you 10 mil + for!!!!
  10. Only 2 starters did not reach base in any AB today. Can you name them for $1000
  11. Well. It's only iftting we get walked off in our last game.
  12. What the hell are we gonna do about our offense in the offseason? Just hope everyone hits better next year?
  13. QUOTE (hogan873 @ Sep 2, 2009 -> 08:00 AM) Yeah, major changes have to be made to this team. Obviously the bad things are magnified right now with them playing so bad, but it's time to get away from the "let's wait for the home run" attitude. This team needs to jettison the old slowness and get down to speed and manufacturing runs. The let's wait for the HR attitude worked fine when we were 1-2 in HRs. Now that our HRs are way down it's not so fun anymore.
  14. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 1, 2009 -> 07:41 PM) Don't say that. I keep being told he's the worst player we have ever signed. And that we should get rid of him at our first convenience.
  15. QUOTE (iamshack @ Sep 1, 2009 -> 07:37 PM) Yeah, you have a definite issue with him. You know, there are 6-7 other players failing consistently on our team. Perhaps you could pay more attention to them. Did you know that Alexi has a .383 Avg and 997 OPS against lefties? The more you know...
  16. It feels like I haven't mentioned it in awhile, so I figure I better get back at it. Alex Rios has a .494 OPS since joining the White Sox (56 abs). that is FOUR f***ING NINTY FOUR/ That is a line of .179 .190 .304
  17. Peavy is fine per Cowley. fathom you can come off heart attack alert now.
  18. The fact that he would spend 11 mil or whatever for Rios and not pony up for a guy like Hudson to have the entire year both confuses and infuriates me.
  19. They just can't hit. Dye hasn't been hitting in more than a month, Paulie has been struggling, same with Gordon, Jim, and Alexei. Rios is awful at the plate. Only Pods, Nix and AJ have been hitting. When you aren't hitting it looks like you have quit. You can believe these guys want to hit because that means $$$$$, but for whatever reason it's just gone. You're team looks really really bad when you're not hitting.
  20. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Aug 28, 2009 -> 08:31 PM) This we won't have money for anything because of Peavy and Rios is a bit much. We have a lot of money coming off the books over the next 2 years. We will be fine. We are kind of straddled however due to the fact we have given a guy like Linebrink a 4 year contract. Its not the money, its the fact that he is here for 2 more years. They money coming off the books is going to pay for their salaries. It's really only Jose and one of Dye or Thome (as I imagine we're going to have to keep one of them). If Jerry is pissed at our swoon and low attendance over the next month there might not be much money there after raises and such.
  21. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Aug 28, 2009 -> 08:27 PM) Damn.. sometimes Kenny being too overaggressive can also be a weakness when your putting all your chips in the deck. Hopefully Rios and Peavy can have a very good 2010 for us. They sure as s*** better. We're not gonna have much money for a bullpen which is obviously a glaring, glaring issue. I don't have a clue what we're gonna do there next year.
  22. Let's see some of the young guys in September.
