  1. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Nov 5, 2009 -> 12:31 PM) If we've learned anything about Kenny Williams it's that he's a very non aggressive gm. He probably wont make any other moves this offseason so it's definitely time to freak out. Wait, what? Everybody who has reported on this story has mentioned Teahen to RF. That is why we are freaking out.
  2. QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Nov 5, 2009 -> 12:26 PM) I don't see the problem. .779, .691, .754 How about now?
  3. QUOTE (chisox2334 @ Nov 5, 2009 -> 12:20 PM) http://www.suntimes.com/sports/1867251,tea...rade-05.article according to article, w sox confirmed it. Quentin, Rios, Teahen outfield. Please Kenny say it isn't true.
  4. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Nov 5, 2009 -> 12:17 PM) not saying the White Sox would be world beaters, but I think a healthy rotation of Peavy/Danks/Floyd and MB in the AL Central would make it difficult to lose 100. Also, are we talking D with Nix to Getz? Because OBP between Getz and Nix was .324 to .308 and you get 10 more HRs out of Nix in about 120 less PAs... Nix OPS+ was 10 points higher (neither was spectacular though) and Gets RC/G was .1 higher, 4.5 to 4.4. The glaring thing is SB, Getz 25 out of 27 to Nix 10 out of 12. However, with the 10 extra home runs in less PAs, Nix actually scored himself 10 more times than Getz moving up 1 base 15 more times. http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/...xja01-bat.shtml http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/...zch01-bat.shtml Yeah but that was mostly against lefties. I worry about him playing against all righties. But it's not just about Nix. I worry about where we're going to get offense from if a guy like Teahen is expected to put up corner outfield numbers, which he cant
  5. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Nov 5, 2009 -> 12:16 PM) Wait. Hold Up. Jphat, doesn't like Nix? It's not even that, though Nix did have a lower OPS than Teahen
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 5, 2009 -> 12:13 PM) And the award for best lead dramatic actor is... I know I know. Bigtime overreaction. Just nervous about the offseason/next season like I haven't been in a really long time. We are on a very thin line to where we improve and compete or fall into the 'bad' territory.
  7. I wouldn't mind it if he were at 2B or 3B, but he sure as s*** better not be in RF. Even with JD sucking nuts for half the season he still put up an OPS 50 points higher than Teahen. I'm really afraid this is another KW sees a guy doing awesome against us and acquires him even though he sucks against everybody else. f*** man if Nix is at 2B and Teahen is at RF we might lose 100 games. f*** even Pods had a higher OPS than Teahen
  8. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 28, 2009 -> 05:38 PM) Dick Allen vs Southsideirish XXV Only 25?
  9. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Oct 6, 2009 -> 08:38 PM) If this game ended on a HBP it would be a travesty. Especially that little of a touch of the jersey. I agree with the ump, make a team actually win the game. That's not the umps decision to make. Either it did hit him or it didnt. It did and it's his job to call it. Cheap or not
  10. This umpire is f***ing awful. That's ball 4 to go with the HBP
  11. I hope some of these guys have huge bounce back years. I think that'll really dictate how we do next year. We aren't going to get anybody 'big' in the offseason methinks. We're gonna rely on pretty much everybody bouncing back and the young guys improving a little bit.
  12. QUOTE (son of a rude @ Oct 4, 2009 -> 09:34 PM) It's funny because i knew you were going to trash talk Rios or Nix before I even read your post. I was thinking about throwing Nix' embarrassing .229 with RISP in there, but I thought, hey, it's a long offseason... But seriously, I'll give them both a clean slate next year. I'm fine with that. We'll likely need them both. But the bottom line is that they were both pretty brutal this year, and that's what I had an issue with. I'll be rooting for them both like heck next April.
  13. QUOTE (rangercal @ Oct 4, 2009 -> 08:39 PM) pierzynski? He hit .300 for the year and only has 45 RBIs. You can infer what that means. (But if you can't that means he hit .250 with runners in scoring position. That's pretty amazing to hit so well with people not on base or on first, and so poorly with guys on 2nd and 3rd.) It's pretty difficult to hit .300 for the year and only hit .250 with RISP in 100+ ABs. That means you are doing some major sucking with ducks on the pond. Granted we didnt have a ton of people on base but we were 9th in the league in ABs with RISP. One of the more annoying parts of the year to me. Not necessarily bad, just annoying. Well, that and RIos hitting .159 in 89 ABs with RISP. That was pretty annoying too. Wow. Josh Fields had 82 ABs with RISP. Ok, now I'm rambling.
  14. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 28, 2009 -> 07:08 PM) You don't really care too much for Nix/Rios, do you? I'm more scared than anything
  15. Nix couldn't drive in a RISP if his life depended on it.
  16. QUOTE (son of a rude @ Sep 26, 2009 -> 07:43 PM) You know he already reached the amount of at bats for the contract option to kick in, right? what a s***ty organization. Oh word? I thought it was 550. Eh, they are a s***ty organization anyway. Ah it was 1080 for two years.
  17. QUOTE (son of a rude @ Sep 26, 2009 -> 07:38 PM) Why? He is cheap and under control for the next couple years. He has great stuff too. You would rather just kick him off the team than have Coop work with him and help him get on track? He's s*** the bed in every big situation he's been put into. We're f***ed if he is any part of our setup team next year.
  18. I see Ordonez is playing now that he can't reach his AB contract trigger. What a s***ty organization the Tigers are. I say we go get Maggs if he's willing to come.
  19. Seriously. If Tony Pena and Scott Linebrink are our main setup guys with Thornton as the closer, we're f***ed next year.
  20. Yah, let's let Tony Pena be a setup man. Real good idea.
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 25, 2009 -> 09:31 PM) Worse than we were in 2007? Probably not. But you can be much better than 07 and still be bad.
  22. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Sep 25, 2009 -> 09:29 PM) Not much middle relief on the market. Scary isn't it.
  23. We'd have to score 900+ runs to win with that bullpen. In other words, if we have that bullpen next season we are going to lose a lot of games.
