  1. QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Apr 16, 2007 -> 07:32 PM) Well, for starters, stop giving Duke home guys. Haven't they stayed in NC 8 of the 9 years of the event? 2 seasons ago they were at IU. I'm not sure if they have played away any other time. Only 1 game in the schedule is really nationally appealing, UNC/OSU. Duke vs. IU should be a must each year, IMO.
  2. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Apr 17, 2007 -> 07:10 AM) During my freshman orientation, I remember I said I wanted to see IU make a bowl game and a final four during my four years here. Obviously that hasn't happened yet; however, I have a feeling my senior year could be a fun one. You know it's just wonderful timing that my time at IU was during one of the worst 4 years for sports in IU history (graduating this May). The football team is finally getting good. With Lewis, Hardy, Bailey, Thigpen, basically the whole offense returning, we will finally make a bowl game. Now next year will be the best basketball team (talent wise) IU has seen in quite some time. Damn it to hell. Jerry DiNardo and Mike Davis ruined my college career.
  3. QUOTE(DrunkBomber @ Apr 16, 2007 -> 12:46 PM) Anything to shake up this offense is worth a shot. We know Iguchi can produce in the 2 hole. We have yet to see what GrindErstad can do down in the lineup, hopefully lower than 6th. The lower the better. Get him the least number of ABs over the course of a season possible.
  4. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Apr 16, 2007 -> 09:47 AM) What I don't f***ing understand is why BA isn't playing when he's the younger, better fielder, and had a great spring training... while Erstad continues to suck fat balls and goes out there EVERY DAMN DAY! You can't win with young players. Duh.
  5. They probably weren't going to play anyways. Oz wasn't on suspension or anything right?
  6. How about maybe not emptying the bench every 3rd games?
  7. If its going to be filled with AA/AAA players after these three, then you'd be stupid not to choose Pujols. The man's going to break handfuls of records.
  8. QUOTE(BearSox @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 02:17 PM) I don't care if Mack should or should not have been batting in that situation. You don't freaking slap at pitches low and away when there are no outs, and you have a runner on 3rd. As a player, you should be able to drive a ball in the outfield. And Mack, who isn't an everyday player, should have taken advantage of getting a start, instead he blows it. He is a MLB hitter, freaking make the play, don't blow it. Don't make freaking excuses for him by saying he shouldn't have been batting. He is getting paid a couple million for mainly his bat and versitility, earn some of that money. And what would Anderson had done instead of Pods? Make a perfect laser throw to throw out Bradley? I doubt it. And after looking at the replays of the final hit, it looks like the ball hit of the wall, then hit pods in the head, because the ball seems to come down at a different angle. So, do you expect Anderson to be able to jump 5 feet to make that catch? And I don't understand all this Pods hate right now, how has he done anything wrong? Mediocre D, which was not expected at first from 'Prancer' and he has been this teams best hitter. It's not the outcome of the game that people have a problem with. The point is, Ozzie did not make the correct baseball moves. Even if the Sox had won yesterday, they still were the wrong moves. If you continue to not make the correct moves, they will end up biting you in the ass like last night.
  9. Who's gonna keep the log on how many times BA rots on the bench in 1, 2, or 3 run games in the late innings?
  10. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Apr 6, 2007 -> 05:24 PM) Ears>Eyes I'm sure they have sound as well.
  11. Not sure why PTI would have a segment on it if it actually hit him. I'd think their video crew would make sure it actually didn't him if they were going to make it a part of the show.
  12. If Hawk actually talked about the game most of the time I'd enjoy it, but his tangents are just utterly ridiculous, and he seems to disappear during the 5th and 6th innings. I prefer watching the game on mute.
  13. It clearly didnt hit him. AJ also turned around lifting up his arm acting like it hit him. Not saying it's a bad thing, but it was good acting by AJ.
  14. QUOTE(Y2HH @ Apr 3, 2007 -> 08:50 AM) I love playing symantecs...the Cubs leadoff hitter could bat cleanup...see what I did there?! Don't put words in my mouth. Batting #2 and Batting #7-9 is NOT in the same league as batting #1 and batting #3-5. He's not in the heart of the order, he's dropped so low in the order there is no added pressure, as a matter of fact, there is LESS pressure...so your arguement holds absolutly NO water. Next time rather than just talking, think first. Milkman failed to deliver that time, Herbert. Or there could be more pressure due to all the talk Iguchi has heard about Ozzie and KW expecting more power out of him. While the spot may not warrent added pressure, more pressure can be added simply because of the change, and the expectations that come along with it.
  15. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2007 @ Apr 1, 2007 -> 04:18 PM) Somebody care to actually give reasoning why Thome is nowhere near Hafner? Thome: .288/42/109/.416/.598/1.014 Hafner: .308/42/117.439/.659/1.097 Here are a couple reasons why it's not close: 1. Hafner is on the rise. Thome is on the decline. It is likely Thome's numbers will decline compared to last season and its very plausible that Hafner's numbers will improve. 2. Thome plays at the Cell which proved to be a considerably better place to hit. Park adjust Thome's numbers to Jacobs Field, and the gap is widened. Park adjust Hafner's numbers to the Cell, and they are even more ridiculous.
  16. I'll take the under on every single one of these "projected" lines except Uribe. These are more like predictions. No system on earth "projects" Vazquez for that.
  17. If Ozzie's managing this team, Sizemore is the only change. If not, Hafner, Grady, Barfield, Peralta, Martinez, Dellucci, CC, and Sowers.
  18. I seem to remember the 2005 World Series Champion White Sox going .500 in the 2nd half and almost blowing a 15 game division lead. Guess they weren't a good team. Guess those wins in April, May, and June weren't very valuable.
  19. It's not the record that people have issues with this spring. It's the fact velocities are down, walks are plentiful, pods and erstad are healthy, etc. that gets people down. You can take some things away from spring training. It's not all meaningless.
  20. Logan doesnt throw 95. Obviously he needs more time down in AAA to lift weights and grow.
  21. I'll be shocked if we finish higher than 3rd. 4th place is a good estimate at the current moment.
  22. I bet every teams' fans except the Red Sox are arguing about how they should be ahead of the teams ain front of them. Put the Sox ahead of the Cubs and the top 13 are pretty accurate.
  23. Did you guys really expect better? I think we're right where we should be. Sorry, but no ones jumping out of their chair at the rotation anymore after what they did last season.
