  1. Carrasco's a top 50 spect. I doubt the Phillies would make that trade. It doesnt make sense for either team.
  2. Or better yet, a Pablo-Terrero 1-2 vs. LHP...
  3. So this also means that we will be seeing Terrero in CF vs. LHP and batting 2nd?
  4. QUOTE(SoxFanForever @ Mar 20, 2007 -> 10:20 PM) Erstad is not going to "revert" to his 2000 form. That was 7 years ago and he has approached nothing close to it since then. We call that a "Career Year". Fluke perhaps fits better in this situation.
  5. QUOTE(BearSox @ Mar 20, 2007 -> 10:14 PM) What is with all the Podsednik hate? I don't like him or anything, but he wasn't 100% last year. Would I rather have Dave Roberts in LF and leading off? Hell yes. But then again, Podsednik can return to that 05 and 03 form, and hit .300, with a .350+ OBP, and steal 60 bags and have a 80% completion rate of doing so. And I can kinda understand the Erstad hate, but can we please wait until the season is two months through the season and see the results before we crucify the whole team? For all we know Pods reverts back to '05, and Erstad repeats 2000. Neither have the might to hack their way out of a paper bag.
  6. Could it be possible that Anderson will not be traded until Javier Vazquez becomes the "star" KW thinks he can. Until the point of justification is met, we will continue to be fed the Anderson is the future CF crap only to have Erstad's option be picked up for 2008 (I believe he has one). This whole CF situation is one big f*** up. The real question is whether or not Darin Erstad would still have a job had he not done what he did in 2000.
  7. Toss Up... What's more likely to happen first? Erstad gets injured or Ozzie realizes what a friggin failure his idea was and Iguchi returns to hitting 2nd
  8. Is it wrong of me to root for an Erstad injury?
  9. If Erstad isn't bunting everytime Pods is on base, he'll be worthless in the 2 spot. Glad to know that our worst 2 hitters will be getting the most ABs over the course of the season. You gotta love that logic. I yearn for Carl Crawford more than life itself right now.
  10. Our lineup will score less runs with Iguchi batting 8th than 2nd. A Pods/Erstad 1-2 is the worst 1-2 in MLB.
  11. QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ Mar 17, 2007 -> 11:26 AM) Speaking of luck heres what I did with a 10 man league 5x5 C Jorge Posada 1B Paul Konerko 2B Rickie Weeks 3B Garret Atkins SS Rafael Furcal OF Carlos Beltran OF Vernon Wells OF Jason Bay UTIL Travis Hafner BN Gary Sheffield BN Felipe Lopez BN Chris Duncan BN Alex Gordon SP John Smoltz SP Chien Mien Wang RP Trevor Hoffman RP JJ Putz P Todd Jones P Joe Borowski P Takashi Saito BN Curt Schilling BN Brett Myers Injury prone yes? What im worried about, cause Bay, Sheff, Weeks, and Beltran are all capable of hitting the DL which would ruin my hitting but Im not too worried about it. Pitchin is solid, I actually am about to accept a deal of me getting Ben Sheets, giving up Putz and Duncan, will help my pitching. I think i can pull off a trade of Jones to guy who has zumaya. I like my balance though and SPs are consistent year in year out. I might you suggest looking into a guy like Broxton instead of Borowski or Jones. Neither of those guys will have a very low era or high strikeouts. You already have a ton of saves so there really is no need to start 5 closers. Substituting a low era/whip and high K setup man could be a lot more beneficial.
  12. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Mar 15, 2007 -> 11:27 PM) Are you f'n kidding me? Who the hell else was drafting? Are saves worth 1,000 points? What gives? keep in mind he did say it was a 10 team league and not the usual 12 team league so he should have a better than normal team.
  13. Who's gonna be Brian's wingman now that Brandon is gone? I think that is reason enough to get rid of him. A wingless man will be lost on the playing field.
  14. I too am not a fan of your SP. Harden and a trio of 40 year olds could hit the fan really quickly. Love your offense. Alou is the only weak spot imo, but how many teams really are complete 1-9? Not many. Kinsler's gonna have a big year IMO.
  15. If Buehrle signs an extension, I wouldnt at all be shocked to see Garland the one shopped around the most.
  16. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Mar 7, 2007 -> 02:11 PM) Garland is a RHSP Buehrle is a LHSP LHSP >>> RHSP. That's why you try to keep Buehrle. Garland will get a lot back in a trade, but not as much as Buehrle. Garland will get a lot in free agency, but not as much as Buehrle. IMHO. That's of course ignoring the obvious that Buehrle is clearly the better pitcher. If for some reason the Sox are out of contention at the deadline, knock on wood, I would think a team like the Mets would give up a hell of a package for Garland seeing that it can be justified since Garland is locked in for 2008. I would have no qualms with a Garland trade whatsoever. (Note: This is only if Buehrle can be locked up, of course.)
  17. What was so wrong with what Brandon said? The clubhouse is old. People were telling him what he was doing wrong all the time. This is the stuff that gets under Ozzie's skin? Wow. Grow some thicker skin. There was nothing offensive in his comments, IMO.
  18. QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Mar 1, 2007 -> 08:09 PM) Is four out of a total of 100 very good? 8 Rockies 7 Devil Rays 6 Diamondbacks 5 Red Sox, Yankees 4 Braves, Dodgers, Indians, Mets, Reds, Twins, White Sox 3 Angels, Astros, Athletics, Brewers, Cubs, Mariners, Marlins, Orioles, Pirates, Royals 2 Blue Jays, Cardinals, Giants, Tigers 1 Nationals, Phillies, Rangers 0 Padres
  19. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Feb 27, 2007 -> 06:08 PM) The METS?? With that pitching staff? Trading for talent at the break? They'll be DUMPING talent at the break as they settle into a last place battle with the Nats. Braves, Philly and Marlins are all better than the Mets. Buster. What a douche. It's going to be a helluva race in the NL East. However, it is the Mets, and they will not be dumping anytime soon. They're in win-now mode.
  20. We havent seen the best of Carlos Zambrano yet, and what we have seen is some of the best in the game. I wouldnt mind KW overpaying for such a talent. Doubt it happens, but I would love to see Carlos on the Sox.
  21. I would hate it if KW were to give Dye a market-valued extension before the season. I mean, does anyone really know what Jermaine Dye will show up this season? Basically, with Fields and Sweeney our only luxury right now would be to take a wait-and-see approach as far the OF is concerned. I think a good portion of whether or not Fields moves to LF is whether Dye can be resigned. If Dye leaves, it's gonna be hard for KW to let Crede walk. Iguchi doesn't fit into the same category that Mark and Jermaine do. Guess KW just didnt want to single any of our FA out.
