  1. QUOTE(Manrique's Mustache @ Jan 17, 2005 -> 04:32 PM) Speaking at a fan seminar Saturday at SoxFest at the Hyatt Regency, Guillen sounded set on a lineup of Podsednik leading off, followed by shortstop Juan Uribe, right fielder Jermaine Dye, first baseman Paul Konerko, designated hitter Carl Everett, Rowand, catcher A.J. Pierzynski, third baseman Joe Crede and second baseman Willie Harris. This line-up seems a bit off to me. I don't see how Rowand is not batting second. He deserves the shot for more AB's after last year hitting over .300. He should be swaped with Uribe. Welcome to soxtalk Your right, Rowand should not be batting so far down. He should be at #2 or #3. The ideal line up should be something like this: Pods Rowand Dye Koney Everett Aj uribe Joe harris or Pods uribe Rowand koney Dye Everett Aj joe harris
  2. YES! f*** YEAH! f***IN AWESOME! BEN GORDON IS f***IN GREAT!!!! ITS OVER!! HELL YEAH b****!
  3. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 09:42 PM) On Saturday I asked about the last roster spots, and what chances do guys like Jeff Baj, Felix Diaz, and Wilson Valdez have for competing for the 23rd, 24th, and 25th spots on the ML roster. Oh yeah, i remember that. Good questions by you and Aboz.
  4. QUOTE(soxman352000 @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 09:39 PM) Thats the big one for me, it would drive me crazy when we had runners at first and third one out and then someone would hit into the inning ending double play. Yeah it will prevent konerko,Dye, and pierzynski from gidp. By the way, damn good points ssirish.
  5. QUOTE(JDsDirtySox @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 08:57 PM) Twins signed former Tiger Eric Munson. http://msn.foxsports.com/story/3329238 They offered him a minor league contract and since he sucked last year he will probably be in AAA most of the year.
  6. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 09:23 PM) That's not a rumor, just Barry saying they should think big. Damn near everyone on Minnesota can be had right now in a trade except for Kevin, Yeah, they'd get rid of Cassel and sprewell rather than trade Garnett.
  7. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 09:05 PM) He's been a White Sox killer actually, at least in the field from what I remember. Yeah suddenly he was a gold glover when he came into town.
  8. QUOTE(Goldmember @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 08:55 PM) wtf...how in the hell could he not know? I cant believe it either. The nail was like right behind his eye. Minor toothache and blurry vision my ass.
  9. when he takes a piss in your mouth while you are sleeping.
  10. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 12:24 PM) Timo suddenly looks like a porn star. Who runs that frickin website.
  11. QUOTE(JDsDirtySox @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 08:57 PM) http://msn.foxsports.com/story/3329238 They signed him to a minor league deal, and he sucked last year so he will probably be in AAA for most of the season.
  12. QUOTE(chimpy2121 @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 07:34 PM) The sheep just aren't cutting it anymore. :headshake What the hell? She's starting a petition to see players asses at lambeau.
  13. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jan 14, 2005 -> 08:37 PM) He does not hit into many double plays when he is not batting behind bonds. Your right, his previous high was 14. In '01 he only had 7. It's still likely that pierzynski will be hitting #6.
  14. QUOTE(beck72 @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 04:52 PM) that's a lineup vs RHP VS LHP: Castillo Uribe Thomas PK Dye Rowand Crede AJ Pods Wouldnt this be better? Why would you put pods at the bottom? Castillo Pods Thomas pk Dye AROW AJ Crede Uribe
  15. QUOTE(greg775 @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 07:45 PM) I'm kind of getting excited about our team. I wish we'd get rid of Carl, though. I don't like that guy as a player. Do you all think he's good or not? I say trade Carl now for a bad second baseman. Trade carl now for a bad second baseman? Thats a stupid idea. I think he will hit .270. He is a pretty good replacement for Frank. Between him in gload that will be a solid #5 spot in the order while frank is out.
  16. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 05:24 PM) Why didn't you say Hey? The fest was a blast. I asked questions at every seminar I went to, and there was a lot of good info, a lot of fun, and even a little alcohol, right guys? What question did you ask on saturday. Maybe ill remember who you are.
  17. QUOTE(Chi Town Sox @ Today-> 4:06 PM) I say we trade 4 prospects in return for roberto alomar and whatever team he ends up on Welcome to soxtalk
  18. QUOTE(Cali @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 03:42 PM) Plus they had the basic "look" that all the bands look like now.A combo of the White curly fro/ being very pale and skinny/ dirty matted long hair, and wearing matching suits. Plus they had zero stage presence, The singer just giving a catatonic "Will Ferrell doing James Lipton" stare. I know i cant tell the difference between these crappy bands anymore. The government is building a secret army of generic bands to rule the world.
  19. QUOTE(beck72 @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 04:24 PM) I don't "want" to see Marte traded if at all possible. I was just thinking what player could the fish want that would fit in while saving them some money in salary. But in order to get a player of Castillo's talent, it'll take a lot of talent to get him. IMO, a guy like CAstillo who's a lock to hit .300 and can hit leadoff or #2, and play gold glove defense up the middle, is worth the cost of talent like Marte +. I wouldn't say he's a lock to hit .300. He didnt last year.
  20. QUOTE(JDsDirtySox @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 03:26 PM) http://www.forums.mlb.com/ml-whitesox/messages/?msg=36237 Could this really have happened? I used to post at that site and man, that insiderinfo is a nut job. He deserved it, he wastes everyones time with his bulls*** nonsense. He is a f***in dumbass and i probably would have done the same thing.
  21. QUOTE(Brian @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 02:30 PM) Mark Buehrle will get the nod on Opening Day over Freddy Garcia, manager Ozzie Guillen said yesterday. The Indians have plenty of time to plan for what they'll be facing on April 4. Guillen also indicated he'd use a lineup of: LF Scott Podsednik, SS Juan Uribe, RF Jermaine Dye, 1B Paul Konerko, DH Carl Everett, CF Aaron Rowand, 3B Joe Crede and 2B Willie Harris. If Frank Thomas is healthy, he'd likely bat third and Dye would be dropped to the fifth spot. Jan. 16 - 2:26 pm et Source: Chicago Tribune The report neglects where AJ will be batting. Dye isn't the best choice for #3, but not a bad one either I suppose. Pods Rowand Dye konerko Everett Pierzynski uribe Crede Harris Ozzie's lineup isnt final and I figure pierzynski will bat 6th.
  22. Im pretty certain they'll resign curry. Chandler, im not so sure...
  23. Game over Wisconsin wins 62-59. 38 in a row at home. Illini in trouble when they head up there. Im not a fan of either team, it was just a good game.
