QUOTE (kwill @ Jun 19, 2017 -> 10:29 PM) I agree with this as Fowler was a legit prospect coming into this year. He has only continued on his success this year. He is probably a Top 75 Prospect if not higher. Also, He plays centerfield which would be nice for the Sox. Something to note is Andujar did get promoted to AAA yesterday. He too would be a huge get as he is probably rated the best defensive 3B in the minors right now. In twitter, Sherman or Heyman noted that Andujar was promoted before they knew full extent of Torres injury so it may not be a long term promotion.

He was in possession of alcohol. MIP means you were caught by police with alcohol in your system. It was very hard not to get them in college. -

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 19, 2017 -> 01:52 PM) If Boston wanted Butler they could have traded #1. There is no point in taking #3 from the team who had #1 and could have directly traded it to the Bulls. Who knows what will happen, but most people believe that Fultz is the best player in this draft. Now that may not happen, but the trade should have gone to the Bulls for #1 and then if the Bulls wanted to do something else, they could have moved the pick. Since the Celtics didnt trade the #1 to the Bulls, i cant imagine the Bulls take the #3. The only way that would make any sense is if the Bulls are getting multiple 1st rounders plus the #3 and the Celts wanted the extra pick from the 76ers. IE the Bulls are getting #3 this year, BKN 2018, LA 2018, 2019 LAC Now that is a deal for Butler and you can live with the swap down to #3 in this years draft. I think the counterargument is Celts did not want to give up two potential #1 overall picks for butler. This trade allowed them to trade back to 3 and gain additional high lottery picks. THey can then trade potential #1-3 overall pick next year, #3 this year and players, and still have high lottery picks to continue to supplement their team cheaply. -

Nice, thanks caulfield. -
This is going to be one of those things where I had no idea who Florial was 2 days ago and now I'm going to be demanding he included in any deal!

Are Americans too lazy or apathetic to relocate for work?

QUOTE (ptatc @ Jun 19, 2017 -> 10:38 AM) This is an odd statement. What type of policy prohibits someone from "moving here" Restrictive building policies that lead to housing shortages. Restrictions on height limits, building types, parking requirements. -
QUOTE (Footlongcomiskeydog @ Jun 19, 2017 -> 10:22 AM) I see that we are back to Q to the Yankees chatter. I remember back when these talks were going on in the Winter and people were saying how Aaron Judge wouldn't cut it as a headliner in any deal for Q. Oh my how things have changed... I don't see Cashman trading away his prospects. The Yanks are ahead of schedule. They will just buy pitching in the offseason. Ha, yeah we talked a while back about this I think around the draft on who soxtalk overvalues/undervalues. Pretty sure there was a Severino/Judge/Mateo or something proposal that would have been trashed at the time but would have been one of the best trades in history. Was just a fan idea not a real one.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jun 19, 2017 -> 10:08 AM) No, I was responding to the "to date he is" post about Mateo. My mistake on the confusion there. Funny thing is, I thought you were talking about Spencer Adams as far as being underrated on lists, not Chance. Oh, yeah, I agree. I don't like mateo valued as a top 60 prospect by any means, but as a third piece where we are buying low? I am okay with. But it's more that I could easily justify white sox asking to include him in a deal, not that I would be disappointed if he wasn't.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jun 19, 2017 -> 09:56 AM) I wasn't a fan of his last offseason when Yankee rumors were surfacing with my post history here. I have personal favorite spects in different systems (including ours). I didn't like him then either. You don't like Chance Adams? I really like him. The idea of him,, at least, have never seen him pitch. Sudden velocity increase and was a reliever so didn't have big inning load, I think with experience he can really get to play around with his velocities and be a solid 3 starter and he's close.

Housing policy is a government choice that would probably be better at an affordability level as a big gov't choice instead of the "once I move here no one else can move here" policy of local governments. -
QUOTE (Username @ Jun 19, 2017 -> 09:43 AM) Wow thanks for sending, this is awesome. Definitely makes sense that it could be a few factors playing off each other. I am 30 and did not know that there had been many instances of sudden equipment issues causing big changes in production aside from the mound raising and lowering. Pretty interesting stuff.
-
QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jun 19, 2017 -> 09:26 AM) He is very overrated as a prospect, no doubt. Was never a fan of his. To date he is, but Adams would be underrated in rankings. I think people know the risk mateo carries but I still think it's a chance I'd take. There is not much happening for us in high-A/AA for short stop that we couldn't afford to let Mateo keep trying. But if we don't I also don't care that much.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 18, 2017 -> 09:26 AM) His nba comp is westbrook. I know, I know. Nuts until he proves himself. The Sixers obviously believe in this kid. We shall see. I've given up on Embiid ever staying healthy. Simmons, Saric and Fultz could be deadly good 3 years from now. Counterpoint: NBA comps are always terrible. -
QUOTE (Username @ Jun 19, 2017 -> 09:15 AM) Been saying the same thing to my buddies ^. So many random players out of nowhere developing massive power. Home runs up like 50% compared to 2014. Honestly though, I feel like the game is in a good place. Feels exciting again. Ben Lindbergh did a nice summary: https://theringer.com/2017-mlb-home-run-spi...al-155cd21108bc He also does a good job of showing that behavior can change too from a juiced ball that could exaggerate the effects.

Americans are too stupid and lazy to move, and also the areas are talking about have seen declining populations for years. -
QUOTE (steveno89 @ Jun 19, 2017 -> 08:41 AM) I'm down for Frazier + Adams + Florial for sure, but Mateo gives me pause. I'll take anyone with a plus plus tool like that as the third piece of the deal.

QUOTE (Reddy @ Jun 18, 2017 -> 08:48 PM) Why do you say that? Hillary had a trash ground game in MI, PA and WI, which is why she lost those states. They completely misallocated resources. Yeah trumps ground game in those states was incredible.

2016 made me lose all hope that ground game means s***. Maybe 04.

Father's Day Games (Lopez, Guerrero, no DSL)

QUOTE (ptatc @ Jun 18, 2017 -> 05:05 PM) I disagree. Pessimism would be if they show no signs of being able to adjust to pro ball. If collins was proved he couldn't handle catching and couldn't put up a 800 OPS or Brurdi couldn't K any one. I see signs they are adjusting to pro ball. Maybe concern but not pessimism. Totally agree. Development doesn't mean you always dominate each level in linear fashion. We have a big league team full of players succeeding now after odd paths in the majors, this game is hard. -
I mean throwing Hickman's k rate after 3 starts and missing his first two years is just so ridiculous. Hickman was an intriguing value with a nice story that lost 2 years not due to his own fault, and people are happy he's making a comeback. Gee what a wonder why people are rooting for him.

The future Sox board has an absurd tendency to suggest that any level 20-30/fringe prospect ever getting mentioned more than once like totally is overrating them as we all know you should only talk about players in proportion to their future impact.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 18, 2017 -> 09:12 AM) Damn, so the trade actually happened. Don't know much about Fultz outside of draft express highlights. He's really good, but it is weird how bad Washington was with a #1 draft pick. Way worse than Simmons LSU team, though LSU did have more talent. -
