  1. People felt good about hostetler and thrilled with paddy, even liked Stevenson. It's untrue anyone would have been met with pitchforks. For instance, an asst director of player dev from another successful org could have been very intriguing. Instead, a former sox player with no real resume. It just hasn't really worked for us. There is no Coop can fix em here
  2. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Oct 16, 2016 -> 05:05 PM) Our only trade deadline addition was a New Trier kid. The new director of player development a former Michigan student. All Hahn needs to do is add a Harvard Law grad somewhere in the org and he's covered most of his alma maters. "Barack Obama named new asst director of player personnel"
  3. QUOTE (balfanman @ Oct 16, 2016 -> 04:44 PM) Maybe it's not Fox so much as the talent his GM has given him to work with? That and all the injuries, particularly to first and second round picks. Did Leonard Floyd even play today? I do not remember his name being called. Injured.
  4. QUOTE (daggins @ Oct 16, 2016 -> 04:42 PM) Like, who is the strong leadership figure Getz is going to get his guidance from early on when he is still green? Is it Kenny Williams? Don Cooper? Frickin' Buddy Bell?? This is a great question.
  5. I had an exchange with Keith Law to see if Getz had any reputation as a fast riser or anything, and alas, he said no
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 16, 2016 -> 03:43 PM) So, I'd still say give Fox more time next year, but you're starting to see the Fox Hunters circling. Yeah, you don't want to turn into Browns/Raiders territory
  7. http://atmlb.com/2e6Kd0n Assistant in the player dev dept for royals for 2 years. Now leads ours. White Sox: we demand the best...or in absence of that just that you worked with us before and like us
  8. I mean, doesn't thome have more experience? And I'd have been livid with that. Does Getz have some revolutionary vision to instill in our farm? That is a scary lack of experience.
  9. He would have had 1.5 years with Royals. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.mlb.com/10...l?client=safari
  10. Just reaffirms the lack of reflection from the organization that anything needs to change, and it just seems like they are scared to hire proven talented professionals that may push back on their failed way of doing things. So we hire people who've only known them as authority figures.
  11. If it is indeed our former farmhand!
  12. Deep sigh. I don't mean to be prejudiced against Chris, but I have little regard for the performances in baseball operations so far from our former players
  13. That's true. Lots of decent individual performances and then crap play by Hoyer and Tracy Porter falling to turf
  14. Yeah, and cherry on top was losing due to falling from turf
  15. Game kinda reminds me of Texans game . Jeffery suddenly silent, who will respond?
  16. Don't forget Durant! He sucks. Shoulda stayed in school. Carmelo Anthony? Awful shooter. Kyrie Irving? Can't hit a shot for his life.
  17. Man what happened to Carolinas defense?
  18. Man run blocking from our tackles/TEs so bad
  19. Weird, Ravens scoring points immediately. Hmm what changed?
  20. http://azc.cc/2eF6NPm The reaction to AZ newspaper that endorsed Clinton over Trump (Hint: lots of death threats!)
  21. Man CBS bench of announcers is just awful.
  22. A not very good start.
  23. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 16, 2016 -> 11:13 AM) That's not a very impressive list from 3 years ago if you consider what they were then. They were still very good and living hall of famers. The 07-10 classes mixed with longtime superstars in a league more talented than today. Being excited about today's young stars is counting the chickens before they hatched, and so far this hatching has not gone according to plan or has been devastated by injuries.
  24. Good article White Sox Lifer. Not to discredit JBJ who is a great ballplayer, but it kind of scares me that it is he of all of the talent on the Red Sox that we covet, as he seems like the player we also fail with most. He will be 26? And coming off 1.5 seasons of .800 OPS ball out of CF, but still terrified he'd show up as the light hitting CF of his rookie year as Soon as he would switch colors. Meanwhile Benintendi seems like exactly the type of successful player that we've avoided to our detriment, at least until this past draft.
  25. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 16, 2016 -> 10:49 AM) Towns, Porzingis, greek freak, etc. The talent level is higher than it's ever been. I'm normally with you, but Towns/Davis are the only ones who are true top ten or close players. Greek freak is a nice player, and porzingis faded big time. He will need to prove year two. But from three years ago when heat broke up we've lost bosh Duncan wade (pretty much) Garnett pierce Rose Howard Bryant and Ginobli with Parker not what he was We've seen Curry Thompson David Irving and KAT take a leap, but others like Wall/Beal have been pretty inconsistent and Wiggins still pretty good but not a top 25 player.
