Yeah! That is like Brady, Manning and Brees hanging it up at once.

Aww man. Duncan and KG gone from NBA. I remember probably 3 games of the nba without those guys in it. The paxson three vs. the suns, the knicks knocking us out in 94, and some random game i was courtside when i was too young to know how old i was. They were nba life for so long.

Sounds like it's not torn thou.

Really sad for Bosh, I hope he is right that reports are wrong, but also that this isn't a serious health issue.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 23, 2016 -> 08:05 AM) Bush was a patsy. It was the military industrial complex that's responsible. Then why was his domestic policy terrible?

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 22, 2016 -> 05:16 PM) I never said they would or that Cutler is better. My point is that many of those QBs above him on the list don't seem to put their teams much closer to a Super Bowl either until you get to the very top of the list. If the Bears had one of the two Matts right now, my opinion of the future wouldn't feel much different. That is true, but the fact that we are once again in "jay out for extended period of time" territory again is the final hit to Cutler for me. Not only is he not that good, but he's not reliable, and he's paid in full for that. I didn't really care if he finished out his contract prior to the start to this season. but there's no real point to keeping him around when this team is so far behind.

Color me skeptical that supporting the CFPB and calling for individual accountability is code word for "do nothing". CFPB has been a huge bogeyman on the right, and this election decides it's fate. This was a huge accomplishment for them.

From Clinton's letter: "Second, we need real consequences when firms on Wall Street break the law. This past week, we learned that one of the Wells Fargo executives that oversaw the division that ripped off its customers left the bank – not with a pink slip, but with a $125 million payout. It’s hard to imagine that top executives were unaware of a problem that involved thousands of the firm’s employees. After all, they imposed sales targets and compensation incentives in ways that led to this behavior. And it’s frustrating that a bank can simply pay a fine and keep doing business as usual – with massive compensation for the executives responsible. That compensation should be clawed back. I’ve put forward an agenda to enhance accountability on Wall Street. Executives should be held individually accountable when rampant illegal activity happens on their watch. Their compensation should take a hit if their companies pay major fines. And they must face appropriate legal consequences if they break the law." The problem is simple: it's home runs and .OPS

QUOTE (Black_Jack29 @ Sep 22, 2016 -> 03:42 PM) Or get a RF with power and move Eaton back to CF. Correct. I think my take away from Greg's post, is the "carlos Lee batting 7th" line. Steroid era or not, as constructed we are not in the position where "replacing below average production with average production" moves the needle. We need big upgrades at 2b, OF, DH. When the White Sox are in the playoffs, I expect Tim Anderson to be a great player while also only being our 7th best hitter. -
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 22, 2016 -> 03:41 PM) That's two different discussions though. I'd rather have those guys because they are young. I don't know if any of them are better than Cutler right now. Especially not Bridgewater in a hospital bed. (Too soon?) The thing is though, I bet most Bengals, Lions, and Falcons fans have zero faith in those guys now anyway. They might be better than Cutler, but they are the stuck in the same blob of QBs that are just meh. Ask them if they'd take Jay Cutler in a trade.

I agree with Greg actually. Melky has been really nice, but Melky + Eaton really would encourage makes it important to get power out of CF. We have pretty good offense at the corners of our IF. I think Anderson will become a 15 hr guy. But we really need to get power numbers from 1-2 more OF positions plus a huge offensive boost out of DH. -
Last Year in 13 games Andy Dalton threw for 3200 yards with 28 total touchdowns and 7 Ints, 2 fumbles. Last year in 15 games, in Jay Cutlers best regarded year as a Bear, he threw for 3600 yards, 22 total Tds, 11 interceptions and 5 fumbles lost Alex Smith, 16 games 3500 yards, 22 total TDs, 7 ints, 0 fumbles lost. Matt Ryan has taken a beating, but even last year as everyone decided he's not very good, he threw for 4,600 yards, 21 touchdowns and 16 ints, with 5 fumbles lost (12 fumbles!). Stafford in 16 games threw for 4,200 yards, 32 touchdowns, 13 INTs and 2 fumbles Everyone pretty much does see more attempts per game, which would account for the gross yardage almost always being in favor of other QBs, but it may also be that they are trusted with a more passing offense and don't kill drives as often. If you put those QBs ahead of him (which I would), he is in the bottom 10 in the league. Flacco is the one QB I would say is most often like Jay Cutler.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Sep 22, 2016 -> 03:03 PM) The greatest trick Donald Trump ever pulled was convincing liberals "maybe W wasn't the worst after all" Ha, I don't want to rain on the "he was a decent man" parade, and I too would feel better if W was a nominee right now and not Trump, but come on. It is true that a lot of the problems in his presidency could be attributed to incompetence and not maliciousness, but there was plenty of malicious. Whether or not the orders came from the man or not, it is a warning of what happens when you put someone in office not that interested in the work of gov't.

This is one of the few times where I'm thinking it's kind of nice to have an election for a judge. I don't think Evans would be doing this if he wasn't fighting for his life: https://www.wbez.org/shows/wbez-news/juveni...m_source=Eloqua Cook COunty will hold hearings on the weekends for juveniles now rather than only m-f. Meaning kids won't be locked up over 48 hrs, it is the same policy as adults. edit: I am stupid and didn't realize this was not a public vote after reading about it in the trib. Points for lack of democracy again?

https://www.wbez.org/shows/morning-shift/rh...m_source=Eloqua There is a lot in there but the trauma stuff I think is right. You could dump 10k therapists into chicago and I'm not sure it would be enough.

The often outlandish criticism Cutler has received has created a built-in defense of him that is deployed even when it isn't warranted. Cutler is a below average QB. But he is still a QB you can create a passing offense around. But Bears fans think below average in terms of Rex Grossman, Miller, Matthews, Orton, Krenzel, etc. Quarterbacks that would finish year with 10 or less TDs to their name, that you could not run a passing offense around. But for cutler, his inability to stay healthy is a criticism, same as Romo at this point in career. How can you build a team around a QB who isn't there for 3/4s of snaps every year? And you can put all of that blame on protection, but there are things that make QBs great (getting ball out of their hand, decision making, protecting ball) that he is not great at. He just isn't that good. There are too many good QBs in the league to still consider Cutler average.

I think the remarkable thing has been our inability to get plus offense out of our DH. It's funny to hear things like "he's only a dh, dime a dozen" and then think about how we have been unable to find one for years (2012 excluded) -
Remember when this was exciting?

I drafted Howard late, realized I couldn't stash player that was 3rd string, dropped him, one week later paid to pick him up. I'm terrible
