Pretty sure that will be a given.

I still like the random weeknight and listening while doing yardwork. August on challenging seasons I usually like because you give up a bit and are just listening to baseball being played.

Chance The Rapper +8 others concert @USCF

I've heard nothing but positive things about the show, and frankly it was one of the few positive moments with the south side front and center this year and the white sox stadium got to be a part of it. Chance has been a great ambassador for Chicago, let alone the sox. -
I've had to put all my fan eggs in the bulls basket after the Bears. I expect Oct/Nov to be pretty brutal while they figure things out, on the other hand, I think a team with Wade/Rondo/Butler may be more capable of winning those regular season "grinder" games that just slow the pace down and win on grit/pulling shoulders out of sockets.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 26, 2016 -> 08:04 AM) Violent crime is about half what it was 15 years ago. Here is a simple graph to show you this. Given your field of work, it's surprising you get yanked like this. You've been suckered into the fact that so much more is in the news now than was before, which gives the illiusion of more crime. It's not reality though. Now that said, there are always exceptions in there. Chicago's murder rate bottomed out a couple years ago, at a level of about a third of what it had been a couple decades prior. But it's spiked back up a little bit the last 2 years. More than a little bit.

QUOTE (shipps @ Sep 26, 2016 -> 11:54 AM) I havent watched a game in over a month. I dont even check the box score either. I do see updates on facebook from time to time that give me a little bit of info. Which shows that I barely even read threads in PHT. lol Ha, yeah the trib twitter feed gets up on the sox every once in a while and I remember last week going "we lost six in a row again?"

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Sep 26, 2016 -> 11:48 AM) No. Yeah, I have to say though, the idea that we could end up with a worse record than last year is kind of astonishing to me. Last year was the least fun I've ever had watching baseball.
-
I consider that still watching.

I'm fine with losing and more fine after White looked good. But yes, I am fairly concerned we have had 2 drafts without an impact talent. Losing Goldman hurts. I would really like to see Amos become more than a safe placeholder player. Losing is fine if there is flashes of talent (like 2000 bears), but when they are boring and bad it's worrying.
-
Interested to see how many have checked out on games but still following team. I am still watching QUintana games and hope he ends up in top 5 of cy young. Question for those still watching: what are you looking for? Question for all: Can the last week change your impression of the season? I can't help but feel that despite the failures of this season, I'd take it over last any day of the week. But would losing out and having a worse record change that?

I would be fine with Loggains had I known what he was trying to achieve. But supposedly he is trying to run Gase's offense. Sounds like Tice running Martz playbook.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Sep 26, 2016 -> 10:54 AM) So you said it yourself, we don't have the talent. I can't fault Fox for that and I think it is critical to be patient in the process. Now if by the end of next year, we aren't seeing talent emerge and get developed, then we have real issues (and I'd even go as far as saying, if by the end of this year we are saying Pace's picks are all busts, then again, something similar). I'm not saying it now and I don't even want to think about a new coach until the end of next year (and I certainly hope at that point, we are seeing the arrow start pointing up). I don't know that I have ever not recognized that we don't have talent? I didn't advocate firing fox but I don't think Loggains has the previous success or current results to allow him to stay on as OC even through the full season. Kevin White hasn't looked that good, but everyone has correctly identiifed that he has not really been used the way you'd expect, see: Houston letting fuller run streaks. Though the defense I knew would be rough, the offense should not be this bad, especially running the ball.
-
Still so shocked by this. Feel so bad for his teammates and family. Can't imagine being the person having to deliver news to his grandmother.

There is a reorganization of the country where midwest is getting older and whiter and south getting younger and more diverse. So texas and GA are closer but not in play, VA and NC have moved Dem, but ohio/iowa/missouri/wisconsin/michigan are leaning more republican than prior election.
-
I've said it before, but the defense looks so bad because Loggain's offense is not creating sustainable drives. Last year the bears were NINTH in time of possession, and that's why even if our defense was horrible in DVOA, Fangio's extreme bend don't break defense with Gase's offense designed to maximize TOP led to the bears in a lot of close games despite talent. Well, Loggain's offense is currently dead last. And we are seeing what those extra possessions by the opposing offense is doing to the score. That said, every team has injuries. My main concern watching the bears in preseason was how razor thin they were, and even their backups were losing their 1 on 1 matchups. We are 2-3 years of top ten draft picks away from assembling a deep enough core.

It won't matter, people will either see the white nationalist close to winning and want to be a part of the winner, or people of 3rd party candidates will think "s***, trump may win" and shift back to clinton/not vote. Either way, un-f***ing-believable.

Gonna throw up at the polls this morning.

Bill Connelly of SBN has this metric called havoc rate, which basically takes all of the plays where a defense has a TFL, pass breakup, int, sack, etc and divides it by total plays. It is a good stat to see what type of defense coaches angle for. I mention because I feel like the bears defense through three games has to have lowest havoc rate of all time.
-
Unless your head coach is the offensive coordinator, I really hate the "well will just have our new guy call the same offense" crap. It's always a sign of bad things to come. If you aren't good enough to have your own offensive philosophy, you aren't one of the best 32 offensive minds in football.
-
I mean, we aren't close to firing Pace. But he has to get better. He has let more talent go than he's brought in. It's okay, he wanted to build a team through something other than free agency but we aren't seeing any impact talent. But Loggains is may be hurting our offensive development. Dude is maybe the worst in a long line of bad OCs
-
I mean I think defense is the same bad, but Loggains just doesn't seem to have a purpose. What offense is he trying to run? Because just running Gases playbook isn't enough.

This is kind of amazing

What's the difference between that and people who bought outfield ickets sitting on lower level? Who cares. It's a concert, kids were having fun, no one was hurt. -
Can't believe this
