  1. QUOTE (raBBit @ Oct 11, 2016 -> 09:28 PM) Why do you insist on condescending me? I post news and you joke "October Surprise!!!" Then you ask if I read the email? Really? What do you take exception to specifically? Can you respond to the actual material at hand? Or when it paints HRC negatively or do you just condescend, wave your hand and parrot conspiracy theory? You stated multiple times her chief of staff said she hates everyday Americans. You then talked about how I was dealing in "conspiracy theories" when three posts in a row after I showed how your claim was wrong. No hand waving.
  2. QUOTE (raBBit @ Oct 11, 2016 -> 09:19 PM) The email is published and these leaks, like past WikiLeaks documents, are admissible in court. I am not sure why you have to stoop to conspiracy theories instead of addressing the facts of the matter. Even if your conspiracy theory were true, these are still real emails. Leaks showed: -HRC's top aides acknowledge she hates everyday Americans. -She accepted money from Saudi Arabia while knowing they were funding ISIS. -A CNN pundit fed HRC's camp questions for the primary debate. If you roll through CNN's Twitter feed it's a bunch of rehash stories talking about Trump's comments from last week. They haven't even acknowledged the leaks. CNN is in no way a reputable news source. They're a less provocative Breitbart of the left. Did you even read the email before you spout off on this? I hope not.
  3. QUOTE (raBBit @ Oct 11, 2016 -> 08:29 PM) Sigh. It's literally not even different than her public stance. But she has pledged to continue the later Obama admin stance if not meddling in states that legalize.
  4. Of course, she's talking about the phrase itself, but that's difficult context for Russians to pick up.
  5. They also had a missed field goal and numerous trips to the end zone. Show me a team that has 500 total yards every game and I'd bet you'll see the best scoring offense in the league.
  6. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Oct 11, 2016 -> 03:18 PM) Can you provide what you saw for MSRP, Invoice and Costco pricing? Unfortunately they don't tell you online, and I'm super curious to see what the discount is like (though I'm sure it differs per car but to get a general idea). For sportwagen SE : MSRP: 28250 Invoice: 25948 Costco price: 24878
  7. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Oct 11, 2016 -> 03:19 PM) I always see the cars at the store but honestly never checked them out, they usually have cars that I've had zero interest in which doesn't help (typically a lot of GM cars it seems like). This is different. You go to Costco Auto, you check out the cars you want, then if you want to see in person it sends you to a dealer where Costco has prenegotiated the price. They also have phone support where you can call to verify the price. Costco makes no money on this it is just part of their perks program similar to AmEx. I love Costco, they do everything right or fix it quickly when they screwed up.
  8. Varies per car, but it has been between 200-500 below invoice. They actually give you a printout at store of MSRP, invoice, and savings.
  9. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Oct 11, 2016 -> 03:05 PM) Ok let's be real on this child tax credit thing. If you're making $3k a year, you can't afford yourself, let alone a child. You're on welfare for everything you need in life including shelter, food and healthcare. $1,000 month isn't a paycheck, but it's also not a disincentive to having another kid you can't afford and shouldn't bring into the world. I question the need for that kind of credit given that all of the care for the child is being paid for anyway, but at the end of the day how many people would take advantage of that credit and it's only $1,000. Pretty much a drop in the bucket. But the children are being born and this would benefit them. And we are talking about potentially adding 25% to your income. That's substantial. Could mean being able to get new job with a car or childcare.
  10. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 11, 2016 -> 03:24 PM) I do believe that early child education, pre-K, is hugely critical for development. That said, I don't necessarily think the federal government should be the ones to address that. This is one I think the states and localities need to get addressed. It is something that benefits the entire community, and much like public education in general, should be funded by local and state taxes. If you want to keep the existing providers, then use a voucher system for pre-K levels (and only pre-K levels, because that's where the private structure is already the ONLY structure for the most part). But it is important, and I do think it should be an added tax. Then remove the federal credit entirely, and if people want to pay above what the public structure provides in services or voucher amounts, then don't get a tax break on it. I will probably manage to piss of R's and D's at the same time with that one, haha. But then you have Alabama and Mississippi and all of the states that need it most being unable to. Something like matching grants would be helpful there. US could play with privatizing and using places like Montessori to scale but I doubt it would be worth it.
  11. John Quincy Adams spread around that Andrew Jackson had a whore for a mother. The dialogue around the Gettysburg address came after A PORTION OF THE COUNTRY DECLARED WAR AGAINST THE GOVERNMENT TO OWN SLAVES. So yeah I'll take modern incivility with a grain of salt.
  12. Was 91 when his hair plug surgery went wrong? You may be on to something.
  13. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 11, 2016 -> 10:11 AM) I think we should talk about how Ken Bone is apparently having a lot of fun with this, and good for him! This is his twitter profile pic now. Yeah I mentioned that yesterday. I was relieved how it turned out. I'm old enough to remember when being snarky and sarcastic was alternative. Now seeing someone as sincere as him is like seeing a unicorn.
  14. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 11, 2016 -> 10:04 AM) There's still something about the human psyche that makes it more visceral about having video or audio of the person saying it or doing it. I do think you're on to something there with the "evidence of racism" thing, and that an "n-word tape" could be used as an excuse for "oh yes, this is obviously racist!" while sweeping the last 16 months of Trump's racism (and sexism) that the GOP's apparently been a-okay with under the rug. Hours before the p**** grabber tape dropped, he reiterated his stance that the Central Park Five were guilty and should have been executed. Per second paragraph, it really meant a lot to me that mccain included that in his unendorsement.
  15. For the record it is a relief and kind of exciting to have arguments over whether social programs increase or decrease likelihood of moving people out of poverty cycle. I'd much rather have that discussion than worrying about an insane man will get elected president.
  16. QUOTE (Ezio Auditore @ Oct 11, 2016 -> 10:01 AM) Black people, and non-black people who don't have their heads up their asses, don't need to see a video of Trump saying the n-word. That's for all the clueless people who are hung up on what they think is just a bunch of PC language violations, for everyone else, they have a whole ass mountain of evidence to conclude what should be obvious. Those people think evidence of racism is one of the following: -Using the n-word -Direct, open involvement with the KKK -Literally nothing else If this video gets released, expect another round of people pretending to be shocked that they didn't know Trump has been this person his entire life. Actually discriminating black families from opportunities to live in your development because they are black is to me more pernicious anyways. This will just be Donald sterling part two. "Sure, he discriminated against people of color for decades, but how would we have known he was racist unless we heard him say the n-word?!?!"
  17. Also it is already available to those makin 3k or more and no stats have shown that happening. For instance, teen ptrnanvy continues to decline and is at lowest point ever.
  18. It's a risk I'm willing to take to help a group in extreme poverty. It is tied to work, and it is a benefit I receive as someone who makes substantially more.
  19. No people keep mentioning it though. Gotta watch it. NPR has been really great the past few days. They always get really good voter interviews.
  20. Actually I'm wrong it is different than 90s program.
  21. Also America needs to grow youth pop so eventually child benefits will occur
  22. This would help bring back a program that was removed in 90s. I understand if you disagree, but the generational effects of deep poverty are undeniable. This gives those kids more of a chance to move up. The deep poverty never gets discussed because these are those without jobs, but that in many cases due to mental health and other problems.
