QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 5, 2016 -> 11:46 AM) What would also be worth asking out of this case would be questions like..."why is it we're spending $20 billion a year to record every phone call and email message on the planet but we can't afford to keep computer systems at major federal agencies up to date enough for a cabinet level official to be able to use a cell phone to send email". But again, that would require Congress doing something other than trying to campaign. "Are our classification processes too broad and opaque to ever actually prosecute anything except the most brazen examples?"

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 5, 2016 -> 11:31 AM) The other problem is Rondo is good enough to keep the Bulls in double figures range with their draft pick. You either have to be awesome or be terrible. The Bulls chose neither. Right. The Bulls will be better than Jose Calderon in all the wrong ways. Wouldn't it be better to know how a team with Jimmy as it's star plays before putting a ball dominant guard who can't shoot next to him (again)?

If this year is a complete throwaway, like you seem to think, it's important we put our young players and coach in a position to grow together. You couldn't have picked a worse player than that, aside from possibly seeing what Andrew Bynum is doing. The point of all of those players above is they are either young, placeholders, or better contracts. I would take Etwuan back 10 times out of 10. Deshaun should have been Shaun Livingston, was always word vomit with that. I wanted to see progression under Hoiberg's system. I wanted to see the team run by Jimmy Butler. We won't see that. We will see Dribble, dribble, dribble, dribble, dribble(avoid driving for open layup), pass, shoot, clank.

Silly to do "at this pace" with Anderson. He is developing and if he really only has 4-5 walks at end of year I will be pretty horrified. I'm confident he will adjust, because I have to believe in him.

She absolutely should have not set up the server. It was not illegal, it was stupid and more of an office regulation issue. Bill also should not have went to go talk to Lynch. It is just classic Clintons.

QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Jul 5, 2016 -> 10:52 AM) You may have wanted to actually pay attention to Rajon Rondo's career to understand that he's not good, and is a horrible cancer to every team he plays. All you need to know about his 11 assists is told in the fact that the Kings were better with him on the bench. he also stopped playing defense at the end of his Boston time. I bet Fred Hoiberg gets it out of him though, right guys? It is only a positive in that he may blow up the locker room, get punched in the face by Paxson, get everyone fired, we end up with Josh Jackson. In that case, well, he is the best signing of the offseason.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 5, 2016 -> 10:44 AM) Of all the deals handed out, the Rondo one was about the last deal to complain about. Whiners gonna whine though and the Bulls fan base has turned into tons of whiners. What the hell did people expect this off-season? A shovel with a mustache on it would be a better idea for a growing team than Rajon Rondo. Hobbled Brandon Jennings would be a better idea. Actually let me show you all of the players that were better ideas than this p.o.s. that is the worst fit for "Hoiball" since 2015 Derrick Rose: Etwuan Moore Sergio Rodriguez Brandon Jennings Trey Burke (traded for a 2nd round pick) Ask for Trade for Deshawn Stevenson post-durant Deron Williams (1 year 10 million) Malcolm Delaney Jeremy Lin Seth Curry Then there are all of these players who are better than Rondo in the sense that they would be cheaper, not actively undermine your other players and organization, and are not hated by your entire fanbaase: http://hoopshype.com/2016/07/04/nba-free-a...6-point-guards/

Rondo is not a low-risk signing, he will actively thwart your star player, will stunt development of your new young point guard, and is a locker room cancer for your young coach who has had issues controlling hte locker room. For all of those reasons it was a horrendous signing. That he got them to the floor is stupid anyways because you don't have to get to the floor, but there were also other players! Players that aren't the most hated in the league that gave up on a team in the playoffs. It is a horrible horrible stupid idea that is only great in that it could be the catalyst for removing this idiotic front office.

The thing is I feel like Hahn has done a pretty good job pushing an organization that had really been left behind to at least average competence. I do feel our player development is better (and when you listen to interviews with organization it's clear people like our hitting and pitching coaches are creating top down philosophies for our new prospects), our amateur scouting is undoubtedly better. But we've seemed to taken a huge step back in the one area that let us bleed along for 12 years under Kenny, our pro scouting. Even looking at Rabbits list, all of the things mentioned above have given us a wider, deeper organization closer to competing. But a combination of horrid pro scouting and no overarching strategy aside from "be competitive as possible every year without breaking the bank" has led to a lot of tactical moves that have moved us backward. Had we not had any of our 2015 splurge we'd be in a much better position to compete both this year and next. That Smarj package may have gone to the Reds directly for Frazier + Trayce, leaving us with a deeper infield and more pieces to acquiring more. We'd also not have butted up against our budget and allow us more flexibility to acquire in FA and Trades. Now, when we are legitimately 2-3 pieces away, do not have excess financial flexibility nor prospect flexibility. Now we need to be patient, but we will not be. And we will wave good bye to 2-3 pieces that are cost-controlled for 6 years that we will then chase after with more 2-3 pieces forever and ever. Hahn seems fairly sound, but he does not have the personality or sway in the organization to run the team in a direction without distractions to accelerate the process.

It's kind of a shame that the Orlando 911 calls and this whole thing came and went and there never is any momentum for re evaluating our bulls*** classification system. But, as has long been stated, it was obvious using General Petraeus as a benchmark that nothing would come of this. He actually knowingly gave confidential information to his mistress and received a slap on the wrist.

This is how I feel and I am utterly dumbfounded how positively this move was met by bulls fans here: http://www.blogabull.com/2016/7/5/12096310...g-for-the-bulls

Ha, I love that subject-verb agreement is the thing that caused you to post about that.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jul 4, 2016 -> 10:39 AM) It's fascinating that they're actually trying to run with the "sheriff badge" excuse even after people found the original source eta his press release, come on man we know where it came from, the guy who made it had plenty of explicitly antisemitic images, this isn't a "sherrif's star" They chose the dumbest possible way to respond to this and will never let go, which I guess is pretty routine for this campaign at this point. eta2 in case anyone had any question on what the original intent behind the star was, the same guy who originally made it also made this one: and another one with the same star on a "Bernie Sanders" ice cream. There's zero question what the original intent was. The more interesting questions here are how did Trump's campaign come across this in the first place, is there so little control/awareness in the campaign that nobody took a second look at the image, and why are they insisting on the dumbest possible response? I think the situation is that they are a bunch of sycophants that only respond to positive feedback, and their social media is full of alt rights, white supremecists and anti-semites and they do not question what they are seeing because they are telling their campaign that they are right, and since they are right, what could be wrong with these tweets???????

I thought after his first walk we may start seeing that 1-2 BB per week thing. This is the month where I expect some more to come up. 6% walk rate by year end is probably the high end of the target by now. But I hope we start to see 4% soon.

I'm probably in minority but if I was in OKC I'd probably keep westbrook and just hope for the best. I don't care what "Assets" they get back, they will be useless compared to the small minute possibility that the additional money you can provide him next year will be enough to keep him. Whoever gets him will be great, who wants a bunch of late round 1st round picks?

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 5, 2016 -> 12:24 AM) http://www.nytimes.com/2016/07/05/sports/b...p-news&_r=0 New NBA trend in team-building? When you take out monetary incentive for these players all that's left is winning teams and preferred cities.

QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Jul 4, 2016 -> 08:52 PM) I don't think they care about defense. The rules are so skewed towards offense that if you have that many good scorers on one team, you can just outscore everybody. They are a fantastic defensive team. I'm not sure that it will matter too much. Bogut seemed more of a cog 2 years ago than last year. Nobody has that center we all keep talking about coming that will destroy small teams. Warriors will continue to be at the very least a top 10 dfensive team because they are well coached and Durant will be a part of that.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 4, 2016 -> 05:35 PM) He won't get much back. He's a FA next summer. What would a non-retarded team give up for 3 months of WB? Not even three months. More like 2 and the playoffs. See Knicks, New York

Fun to follow song on plane. Can't wait for video highlights to be posted.

I'm on a phone in an airport. Who cares

Eh. Golden state was nothing a few years ago, and will probably fall far sooner than most guess. They'll probably win next year but the sad part will be KD playing some bizarre muted role. Yeah, he's taking Barnes role. But you really want KD standing around creating space and hitting jumpshots? Sucks. But Westbrook unleashed will be fun. Sucks for teams like port land who are maximizing their production but will get shutout unless they can get some huge star FA. Sucks worse for WAS fans who had seriously deluded themselves that KD would go home.

This whole max contract thing has certainly not created parody, owners

Yeah I kinda feel like that was a pre written article accidentally published. Woj would not be silent

I'm sure you all will love Rondo after how much you all loved Rose.

Didn't realize Moore signed elsewhere for a reasonable deal. Bulls moving every enjoyable piece of their franchise. Financial champions.
