  1. Also healthcare costs have actually gone down for the first time in a long time and have maintained that lowered level. Insurance costs may have gone up for some.
  2. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 17, 2016 -> 04:16 PM) That's a start. Did his speech get lost since it was in ... London??? BTW he should have told it like it is and added that they dont' want to sit down and talk about it. That is the problem. They want to b**** and moan and be given the privilege that whites have had forever. Now they want it and they want wealth/riches without working for it. They want the privilege and won't rest til it's given to them. By smoke .. I coulda said a beer. He seems like a regular guy who wants to have a few beers or cigars or cigs after playing pick-up basketball a couple hours. He's OK by me. But a lousy D- president. Maybe it's that rushlimbaugh.com and breitbart.com didn't cover his Rutgers and Howard speeches.
  3. QUOTE (Brian @ May 17, 2016 -> 04:12 PM) Obama just let a population of the black community down when he went to Flint last week. Stood in front of them and said the drinking water is fine. One of the few times I was embarrassed for him. What would he have done in Ferguson? People on the right want everything governed by the state, until there is a problem like that. That situation stayed out of control when their governor was absent for days. You should've been more concerned with his lack of leadership in that state. He said that you can now drink the water if you have a water filter installed. He didn't say that there wasn't a lead problem.
  4. He also acknowledged that black people existed, which was another issue in Kansas.
  5. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 17, 2016 -> 03:53 PM) He was a pathetic president, but again, I do like him personally. Nothing against him. Sox fans are welcome in the White House. Race: College campuses are a total mess with protests. Rioting does not appear to be far off. Big cities are crime ridden and racial tension is huge. All under Obama who has shown zero leadership. Economy: Middle class has been decimated. All the wealth is controlled by the top 1 percent. Health care: Skyrocketing costs continue. His plan's implementation was a wreck with nothing but chaos. War on terror: Country gripped by fear with school shootings a common occurrence. Need I go on? The big question are we better off now than 8 years ago? LOL to that. LOL.
  6. I liked James answer on improving minors. One part of that was the great post by NS72, but the idea of improving the facilities so that some of these high priced assets have a great place to develop is key. It's crazy that the minors are offering worse facilities than most college programs.
  7. Filled it out as well. Continued to harp on the low capacity of their vendors this year. Then I obviously mentioned how they should check out sox talk game threads for who they should DFA every game.
  8. She also has had some really interesting policy ideas, obviously important to me now, but targeting child care at 10% of household income. It's an interesting to target a percentage, you'd have kind of a grab bag of approaches, which suits her. Family policy and Housing policy in this country is a joke, and federally the former is a lot easier to help change.
  9. I'm the only fan. She won me over with her 12 hour benghazi marathon/running 100x the campaign she ran in 08. I really respect how she turned that around. But obviously she's also a figure head of an idea of democratic party I grew up with and loved during the Bush years, the technocratic and reality based during a time of emotional and nationalistic decision making. Good, important article on San Francisco housing dept. As our economy creates more service jobs and companies are relocating to cities, I can't think of a more important issue affecting the pocket books than the bonkers and irrational housing ideas and policy of Americans (that isn't even partial to dem or republican) https://medium.com/@andersem/a-guy-just-tra...4ef9#.vq4tkyr2u Basically states that San Francisco would need to add 200k new units. Sounds about right. Glad to see Chicago adding that huge south loop development. In fights with people over the logan square "gentrification" of the logan square california blue line stop. Replacing laundry mats with condos when rents have increased 150% in 4 years is terrible!!!
  10. I thought we'd be in good shape if we went .500 in May and still think that.
  11. I'm actually surprised how pro-Odor and pro-punch people are. But I can't really square thinking the punch was way out of line with how brutal some of the injuries from slides have been recently.
  12. QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ May 16, 2016 -> 09:49 AM) So, you think bighead will somehow end up in the chair? Ha, hadn't thought of that. That would be brilliant but too hokey to pull off.
  13. Was watching Bundesliga on Saturday, which I never really find time for. Was interesting watching the shock of Stuttgart falling to relegation.
  14. She really only has one playbook she can do there, so it would either work or she died quickly. Really a much better way of going out than getting tortured by him for weeks.
  15. QUOTE (SonofaRoache @ May 14, 2016 -> 02:32 PM) Why don't you all just comprehend what I said instead of taking my comment and and trying to be smart asses. I never said it was easy to hit MLB pitches. But yes if you know a pitcher has a filthy slider that people are missing AND it has been a ball each time, then yes you can go up to the plate and take two pitches. Just don't swing at the first two pitches. And yes if I were in the ML and I saw two guys swing at pitches that were balls but were filthy but BALLS I would take two pitches. Yes. It's best to go down 0-2 to a guy with a filthy slider.
  16. ugh. Screw the Yankees and their wife beater closer

Speaking of reunions, the ponys are reuniting to play a show at the empty bottle.
  18. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 12, 2016 -> 01:32 PM) Well its officially official, baby #2 on its way Congrats rock!
  19. in no way are an injured player and an expensive old out fielder worth a 23 year old top pitching prospect plus. In their end I'd want it...on our end, it makes no sense.
  20. This should be terrifying to everyone, and an example of why the presidency is a serious job, as the republican establishment bucks in line to support this guy: http://www.ibtimes.com/donald-trump-slams-...t-taxes-2368589
  21. Was Engel demoted?
  22. Pretty epic run for OKC just as people were ready to write their obit.
