  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 17, 2016 -> 12:49 PM) Patrick Nolan ‏@SSS_pnoles 3h3 hours ago Tim Anderson: .459/.487/.730 since May 10th with just a 10.3% strikeout rate. yes please. Lillian - when was that snippet from? It sounds like last year is when he made huge strides in defense.
  2. I have no love lost for them. They started acting indignant in the press early on about regulation. Yeah, sorry, just because you are a startup in silicon valley does not mean you can work in health without quality regulation. Sure enough, they were overselling the crap out of what they could do and it was a sloppy set-up.
  3. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ May 18, 2016 -> 12:37 PM) Many Bulls fans made fun of the Sixers and Sam Hinkie's plan but now they are closer to winning a championship than the Bulls are. Also, in Chad Ford's mock draft he has the Bulls taking Michigan State PF Deyonta Davis and links them to him and 2 foreign big men. Anyone have a brief scouting report on Davis? Until they can win more than 10 games in a year I'll say they are no closer. Hinkie had a good plan but he made a lot of poor decisions that lost him good will, the most basic of which was being a poor communicator of roster moves that pissed off agents, players and his own admin team. Also, I do feel like purposely avoiding competent veterans stunted growth. Players were regressing. That said, they should have let him see it throuhg, especially to hire bryan colangelo, perhaps the worst executive of the 2000s, including new york.
  4. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 18, 2016 -> 11:06 AM) I like the idea of catering to Jimmy because I like Jimmy. Dude works hard. Yes, he might be rough around the edges but you know what, I like the fact that he's an old school bust his ass kind of guy and think we'd be a much better team if we had more Jimmy Butler's. Instead of catering to a player to run a program that extends to the entire organization, I'd recommend they perform due diligence and find someone capable of creating an organizational culture of health and effective training because it's important. That they just hire someone the player knows again is unsettling to me but par for the course.
  5. Rest assured Greg, there are many people willing to make the argument that Bernie should overthrow the democratic will of the dem primary voters.
  6. QUOTE (Deadpool @ May 17, 2016 -> 11:28 PM) Great. Send the message to Derrick Rose. His time in Chicago is coming to a close. Um, yeah I don't think that's the message here.
  7. I'm sure a top 11 pick that has not lived up to his potential will definitely net us a top 5 pick in a good draft.

So I went to Hong Kong last month and got a custom suit and 4 shirts made for $450. If you are in Hong Kong, highly recommend it. Shirts especially as they were only $35 a pop. I only have 5 suits, I used to save up for banana republic ones, but now I only wear the custom ones I have. I may go and get the other 2 retailored. Best part is I can call up the tailor shop in hong kong and get more shirts as they keep a reasonable inventory of fabrics. edit: I went to hong kong as part of a vacation, not to get suits.
  9. Bulls fire Jen Swanson. Good
  10. Wellp. Thanks for another unbearable game thread. Enjoy your chamber of tears everyone.
  11. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 17, 2016 -> 07:38 PM) Exactly Saladino just not much of a player He's a bench player that plays three positions. Give me a break.
  12. Yeah! DFA Saladino! Everything is awful!
  13. I just realized how horrible our situation was as I saw jimmy butler watch us get the worst pick in the draft. Can't wait to get a slow white player without a position
  14. Need to keep it to one
  15. What? How did we not throw him out?
  16. Navarro finally framed one
  17. Boring. God the Bulls suck.
  18. I really want to win this game.
  19. QUOTE (Brian @ May 17, 2016 -> 04:23 PM) Mutumbo tweeted that philly won lottery but was deleted. Is there an equivelant to Bargnani that colangelo can draft?
  20. I think the "traveling happens every play!" stuff is way overblown. Big men probably get away with more creative pivot foot stuff than they used to, but usually every time I'm with someone where someone yells travel, when it's slowed down it is a lot closer than you think with how long and fast these guys are. I don't blame refs for laying off it when it's hard to call in real time (except big men who are set up and have sloppy footwork like Eddy Curry)
  21. That's terrible. Thank god it wasn't in a library during study hall.
  22. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 17, 2016 -> 03:26 PM) Which only exist by use of Player Development Contracts, signed with MLB clubs. The MLB clubs could, if they chose, be quite specific in how things need to be run, and could pay for said cost increases. In fact, some teams have already started dumping in 7 figure amounts to improve nutrition alone with their minor leaguers. You could also set up a federal/state match funding system. Where the big league club promises to match funds for things like weight rooms, travel, etc. Also, considering the distance between winston salem, kannapolis and charlotte, setting up an academy there with facilities players could use for free and consult with teams would be very helpful. It's not like that couldn't be run as an business to cut down on some of the costs.
  23. Also healthcare costs have actually gone down for the first time in a long time and have maintained that lowered level. Insurance costs may have gone up for some.
  24. Greg would have loved the 60s.
