    The Bench

I really wish Leury could hit. I like Sanchez as a future bench piece but would rather he play every day. Fine seeing Sands down, but I don't see why Shuck shouldn't be that spot.
  2. QUOTE (chw42 @ May 11, 2016 -> 04:20 PM) Yup that's what hurts. We were up in every game and offense scored a plethora of runs. Yet here we are, 1-2. Either team could have swept or been swept. 6 games into the season vs. the playoff team Rangers, sox are 4-2, and could be 6-0. Now lets rest, rest, rest and regain form against the yanks.
  3. Lots of "cuts" after the game quotes. Sound like cardlnals fans.
  4. I believe in Carlos. He's the best.
  5. Great inning by Carroll. Showed me something there.
  6. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 11, 2016 -> 03:38 PM) Cause nothing is cut and dried. IMO Bernie has won enough states the last several weeks he deserves coverage as a contender. In your scenario, the Sox charge would be covered extensively, people questioning the Royals (Hillary) while praising all aspects of the Sox's attempt to pass the Royals. Here, the process is ignored ... "he can't win anyway" the baseball race you cited would be covered extensively. Oh, look at those noble Sox, claiming that they are leading when they clearly are not, and saying if we don't give them the nomination for their hard effort they will boycott league.
  7. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 11, 2016 -> 03:03 PM) You don't have time for uh, fairness? The man is the first underdog in memory to be scratching, clawing (for votes) and WINNING an awful lot of the time and discarded to the curb (via the media) like he's Howard Stern running for office or something. This is not a joke, folks; Bernie fever should be catching but the Chris Matthews' of the world are shilling so badly for Hillary and getting away with it. You know what's not fair? Caucuses. You should focus on that.
  8. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ May 11, 2016 -> 01:15 PM) Nah more of his excuse that the population of our country causes us to lag behind other countries when it comes to basic rights. Yeah, I know Bernie supporters just started paying attention in the last 4 years, but when I grew up conservatives had held the presidency for 28 out of 42 years and upended the house and senate map. That doesn't happen because tv media isn't fair to someone or the clintons, it happens because the country is full of a bunch of people that don't always agree with you. Bernie supporters white wash this as it being the fault of institutions, and can't deal with the fact that a lot of people disagree with you and will fight you on it.
  9. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ May 11, 2016 -> 03:25 PM) Robin's bullpen usage has been piss poor the last 2 nights Bullpen usage tends to suck when everyone you put in craps the bed. Would love to see your master plan.
  10. For as much handwringing as is happening over Latos, I'd feel much worse as a Rangers fan if Chris Sale had just given up 5 runs (worse for them actually as our offense is not elite).
  11. So halfway through the game we are beating the ace of the Rangers staff with our #4 starter and we should be terrified of our pitching? What should the Rangers be doing?
  12. While bad. Having only heard Frazier was injured, I was terrified I'd hear he came up limp and blew his ACL or something. Faces heal.
  13. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 27, 2016 -> 08:47 PM) He only plays OF, but Yahoo has him eligible as SS and OF due to last season. That's why I was thinking about asking for him instead of Story Yeah I love those players. Machado is so key for me being able to use him as SS/3b, and Daniel Murphy is listed as almost every position.
  14. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 11, 2016 -> 11:29 AM) lmao. just stop It's hilarious. It's like someone in the upper east side arguing a millionaire isn't rich.
  15. QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ May 11, 2016 -> 11:19 AM) A .617 winning percentage is a 100-win team. The White Sox currently have a .676 winning percentage. Yes, the sample size is small...but 20% of the season is pretty significant. Sure, the next few weeks feature a brutal schedule, but the last few weeks have been no cakewalk. This team has been living on the road and playing very well in stadiums that usually wreak havoc on the Sox, and/or beating or hanging with teams that are contenders or historically give us fits. Series wins at Oakland, Minnesota, Toronto....a split in Baltimore.... I think this team could go on a 5 game losing streak and I wouldn't really panic. They are so much fundamentally better, generally, than any team we've seen recently and the rest of the division has looked very beatable. I think it's easy to forget that losing 40% of your games, however you lose them, is par for the course for a great team in this sport, especially when sick teams like the Cubs and the Sox seemingly can't lose day-to-day. This is a strange, strange year so far. It's one bad loss guys. They've earned a pass on one bad loss. Let's see how they respond. It's funny because ahead of a series, we all say "this will be a togh series, I'll be happy with 1-2". And then the two losses happen and immediately its OMG ITS OVER WEREDEAAAAD
  16. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ May 11, 2016 -> 11:21 AM) You cannot be serious with this comment. I'm very serious in this comment. I don't have time for the woe is me of Sanders supporters.
  17. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ May 11, 2016 -> 11:18 AM) Lmao. Vote Hillary, it could be worse! That's not my argument. But if you are already predisposed to not liking her candidacy, and are going to throw around how America deserves its terrible leaders, equating her to trump on an equal level, and try to take down it all in your temper tantrums, then I'll point out that you are wrong.
  18. America has 330 million people in it. To build a winning coalition behind a single person, you probably are going to see a lot of things that you feel compromised on. Clinton is smart, experienced, and committed to actually governing the country. You can do worse. See: phillipines. See: Brazil. Look around the world and find me all of the competent governments and which leaders you think are great. America really isn't doing a poor job.
  19. QUOTE (chw42 @ May 11, 2016 -> 10:39 AM) Just gonna leave this here. He stopped giving low strikes very suddenly, which is a weird part of the plate to stop giving.
  20. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 11, 2016 -> 10:54 AM) So apparently it's mathematically impossible for Bernie to win on pledged votes. Kinda hilarious after his supporters ripped the superdelegates for so long, saying that he'd win if not for them. It's especially annoying after Obama played the exact same playbook 4 years ago but won. He used the crappy caucus system to get huge edges for 1-2 more delegates here nad there, kept it close in less advantageous states and focused on states where he could win huge margins. And then there was nevada, where he lost but won all delegates. But I'm sure it's because the 10 octogenarians that watch cable news didn't get fair coverage for Bernie.
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 11, 2016 -> 10:40 AM) The actual numbers: As a reliever in the majors; Scott Carroll 3.26 ERA, 1.335 whip, 1.91 k/BB As a starter; 5.40 era, 1.566 WHIP, 1.33 k/bb Realistically his stuff is good enough to go through the line up once, MAYBE twice. Definitely not 3 or 4 times. Yeah, I was a big fan of him last year and wanted him up as a quick replacement as soon as we saw if danks sucked. But the 12 ERA scared me in AAA this year, and then this. I don't know if something happened but he's clearly off now. WHERE IS BRAD PENNY HAHN SAID HE WAS BEST SIGNING LAST YEAR.
  22. QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ May 11, 2016 -> 09:37 AM) She's not going to hit 2384 without the Super Delegates. She would need to win about 74% of the remaining pledged delegates to get there. She still needs to win 45% of the remaining pledged delegates to maintain her lead on Sanders. She'll hit that number because Sanders will drop out, and his delegates will nominate clinton. I know that we all think we've never seen this story before, but it happened 8 years ago. And guess what? 8 years ago clinton actually had the popular vote over obama!
  23. MLB draft is so interesting. So much less consensus. Still hoping for Ray, but I don't really know anything so I'll just buy in to whatever you guys are excited about.
  24. That albers looked so bad should let you know why Robin's instinct was to let Carroll pitch a whole inning. The pen was gassed. ALl of our guys look tired. That carroll is our best "longman" option is scary, as we've always had a plethora of AAAA pitchers that can come up in a pinch and be okay in that scenario. Carroll clearly has lost his.
  25. i agree with shysocks. I'm tired of it, needs to end.
