[LETS DOOOOO THIIIIISSSSS/b] I was thinking this week, there's not much to analyze here, I'm just having fun reading this. 1. Sam telling Baptista to go home was the best part of this so far. That's a hilarious move, and moreso to me when he handwaives the fine even though $2000 is a legitimately painful expense in this league. 2. The most mindblowing thing to me was how much capital you needed to buy a 4th tier independent league team. Reminds me of when I learned you needed at least $800,000 to be a dunkin donuts owner operator. There aren't THAT many rich people in the world, fewer that would then operate a dunkin donuts, and fewer still that would open up an independent baseball team sure to lose money and close down in 2 years. It kinda of sounds like fun, but it amazes me there are even 30+ of those people in the world. 3. The discussions with the manager are great. This reads like a movie script and he is an obvious character. 4. It kills me some of the sacrifices these players are making to continue to play.In your 20s/30s making $600 a month to sleep on someones couch. That's just crazy. Fun read so far. I'm anxious to see how the shifts and alignments work out.

QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Jun 10, 2016 -> 10:12 AM) I'd rather see the Ass Ponys. No, ponys were better.
  4. I am a little surprised that in a draft weak on college talent and high on high school that the white sox are going 100% on college player.s
  5. I think it's fine for a spell. But I don't want Lawrie full time DH'ing.
  6. QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Jun 10, 2016 -> 11:20 AM) Funny how all the veteran voices speculated to have said something of Drake are going 1 by 1. Avila should be next, only then Drake will have his full revenge.
  7. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 10, 2016 -> 10:32 AM) The main concern to me would be how would he handle it if he did come up and fail. So far he's had some failure on just about every level and overcame it. I think the big worry in rushing a prospect is if he does real poorly, you can lose him forever. I don't think Anderson is in that boat. I do question if he is currently capable of upgrading the position. This is totally my concern. Spot on.
  8. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 10, 2016 -> 09:47 AM) He's pretty "loud" at the plate. Lots of bat movement getting ready to hit. We'll see how that plays. If it plays well, it will be awesome, because not only does he look like an awesome movie casting of a baseball player, but also swings like gary Sheffield which is how every kid my age tried to swing growing up.
  9. QUOTE (daggins @ Jun 10, 2016 -> 09:44 AM) Not really excited to see TA K like 35% of the time in June/July. Yeah, we have to keep that in mind though and hope to see adjustments in september. Let's just keep special attention to teh times where his fast hands adjust mid pitch to make contact with the ball.
  10. QUOTE (shipps @ Jun 10, 2016 -> 09:42 AM) Totally different scenarios though. Speaking of scenario where is that guy? Hopefully he was waiting for someone to say scenario to pop back up and say "WELL ACTUALLY"
  11. That said... CONGRATS TIM You worked your ass off to develop from a raw talent to get to this level. Huge accomplishment for a juco player who rarely played.
  12. QUOTE (ptatc @ Jun 10, 2016 -> 09:37 AM) We'll see. Hopefully, they are confident he's ready to learn in the MLB. It doesn't mean he needs to be an All-Star right away. He just needs to show the ability and hoefully the progress. Let's hope the media doesn't "shields" him and create too much hype around it. But they aren't showing confidence that they have patience for players learning in the MLB considering they've DFA'd like 14 players.
  13. I think this is too soon for Anderson.
  14. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 10, 2016 -> 07:48 AM) f*** Trump and all but you guys have some low standards for "funny." The delete your account meme always makes me laugh when done right. When Dingell did it I actually laughed out loud at work.
  15. Wellp. Sox baseball is still fun
  16. Clowns don't take vacations in iceland
  17. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 09:15 PM) That's definitely encouraging. I'd much rather see him give up hits than walks. Especially in the minors, there will be hits due to worse defense
  18. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 09:07 PM) Do tell 6.2 IP 8h 2ER 1BB 10K
  19. Fulmer pitched a GEM tonight in birmingham
  20. QUOTE (chisox802 @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 04:33 PM) For what it's worth once again (in the Mat Latos thread I stated aprox. 20 minutes before it was announced that my buddy who works for the sox & bulls said that this was being announced today or tomorrow), he also said this. This move is solely in case they are not able to land a big bat, which unless the wheels continue to completely fall off they will make every effort to. Thanks for the info
  21. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 04:46 PM) Why do some of you not care about the email thing at all?? It's not going to go away and hopefully the FBI isn't getting paid off and will do the right thing. My gosh if this was you or me f***ing with the nation's security, we'd be thrown in jail with them throwing away the key. The media refuses to cover the Huffington Post story (so far). What are they gonna do when FBI recommends indictment? Just laugh and say, "She did nothing wrong!" You've been answered a thousand times. One time I actually wasted half an hour responding to you, precious time I could have used to actually bang my head against a desk.
  22. QUOTE (shysocks @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 09:43 AM) *eye roll* I'm as upset about the Shields acquisition as anybody but I stopped reading there. Are we in 3rd grade? I get that, like John Kass, they force him to write a column a day, but man that is so, so bad and not close to funny, clever, or even nod-worthy.
  23. Gregbot still has a ways to go before he passes the Turing test.
  24. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 9, 2016 -> 04:07 PM) If you just posted the Sox signed a guy who hit .310 .363 .458 last year instead of his name I bet the reactions would be different I'd not like the move even if you said his name was Homer McBatface
