  1. QUOTE (scs787 @ Mar 8, 2016 -> 12:28 PM) Question.....Broncos put a 2nd round tender on Brandon Marshall. Would you give up a 2nd round pick for him? I would love to get BOTH Marshall and Trevathon. No, not unless he accepts way below market on deal, which I find unlikely.
  2. cool. As long as we get treviathan, i'm fine with "value" and spreading it around throughout the team. I want one playmaker through FA (see mcphee last year), and then build depth. Unfortunately, wish the playmakers at S/CB were affordable.
  3. One good thing, it's unlikely rubio's constituents move to Trump in large numbers, as Bush/Christies did not appear to. But, as "winner momentum" begins to take hold, it's possible they do.
  4. Not sure. Duckworth has been really savvy politically in elections but it's hard for me to follow the house in anything other than what Madigan is doing. Kirk's latest commercials are gross thou
  5. Really? I would have thought it was more like 50% Rubio there.
  6. Can't tell you how gobsmacked I was seeing Trump in the lead in Illinois. What's worse, his biggest stronghold was the suburbs. I don't know what it takes to vote in the primary, but I'm wondering if I should just vote in republican primary.
  7. oh man, that one game down 8-0 where Iguchi has like 8 rbis to bring us back only to lose...that sucked. Also Politte turned into a pumpkin in the pen.
  8. Charlotte will have some power this year.
  9. Has Engel been up for one of the big league squad games? I think I remember Ventura saying he was going to get the vets as much time to gether as he could, but hoping I could see Hawkins Engel a few times.
  10. I have to say, I'm now less convinced that the party will fall behind trump. It looks like there is a decent chance Rubio will stay in race just to take away from Trump.
  11. The mets rode power in the 2nd half and playoffs, and aside from the Royals, power was up and down the playoff teams.
  12. Really hope we get Treviathan but then mostly want depth. Hopefully we can find a safety in the draft.
  13. QUOTE (peppers312 @ Mar 7, 2016 -> 01:24 PM) i would agree with this. the White Sox couldn't get anyone on base last year, or when people were on base no one could drive them in. it was painful to watch. hopefully we get some timely hitting this year and we can avoid another horrible start from guys like Eaton and Melky to start the season. People that hit more home runs tend to hit more doubles. I realize that ideally we would want BOTH high OBP and power. But you said yourself "when they were on base no one could drive them in". Well especially in april/may/june, that was because it required 3 singles to get 1 run. We are talking about a likelihood of a 30 home run increase. At a minimum that is 30 more runs. Who knows how many games that wins with our pitching staff. Those teams have good obp and contact rates. The sox were bad at contact, obp and power. We at least improved power and that will be a very big help.
  14. I wonder if Jon Hoke would be a name to look for.
  15. Zimmerman just seems like a signing that will get injured in April.
  16. Realizing now that Rollins had better pop than I realized last year. Hoping him and Salad can get us closer to 14 HRs.
  17. QUOTE (Cessna98 @ Mar 7, 2016 -> 10:53 AM) First time poster. 40 year Sox fan. I like the way Hahn slow played the market. I believe that Jackson was his target all off season due to his lack of draft pick attachment. The whole idea then was to get him at the cost that the Sox were comfortable with. Hahn presented Boras and Jackson with a plan that would allow for Jackson to resurrect his career and go into the next offseason with a chance to get the big money and years. They gave Hahn a number that he was comfortable spending. This signing gets me excited. I believe they have a chance to compete very well in a very tight division. So much so that I will be picking up a 14 game plan for this year. I was just as excited last year though and signed up for a 7 game plan. They lost each game. My wife was upset that we spent that money on that team and refused to let me get another plan for this year unless they got a 3rd baseman and another outfielder. Done and done I told her last night! See ya all at the ball park! Love this post, had a 20+ game plan split with brothers last year. Took my wife to the first 6 games and we lost every one except one, the rainout game against the royals where they actually won on Sunday, two days later when we weren't there.
  18. I think he found something, I really do. Not saying he ever gets to 20, but I think he'll have Aj pierczinski power. Some years hovering around 10, but real possibilities for high teens.
  19. Well, I think its pretty crazy that a team on track to be greatest regular season team ever could lose to a team struggling to get double digit wins at this point.
  20. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Mar 7, 2016 -> 10:43 AM) Is this a bigger upset than say an 8 seed knocking off a 1 seed in the 1st round of the playoffs? The original question was biggest "regular season" upset, and I think that's what his stat was referring to.
  21. I would halve your SS estimate, and probably remove 10 off of Frazier. My "could exceed" estimates from the projections are AJax getting 10 with a full season, Eaton's power being real at 15 hrs. But 162 sounds about right.
