It was Sanders best debate, but that one thing will be the takeaway. It was a really bad answer.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Mar 7, 2016 -> 10:33 AM) Jackson came here because he would be starting, not platooning. Jackson's career splits aren't even that far apart. But his RH numbers continue to decline. Using shuck in that role will be helpful.

Really rooting for Johnson to be as good as possible to add to our flexibility.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Mar 7, 2016 -> 09:41 AM) His network has to be about as large as anyone's in football. That alone should be huge. I don't know about this season because we're late in the game, but I do expect some big name assistants. At least he isn't poaching guys during recruiting season. But, still will be weird, such a strange time to be in the hiring mode. I wonder what his assistant budget is. -

It's going to be very interesting to see his staff. But, it seems like Lovie often grabbed coaches from college, I imagine his coaching contacts after so many years are a lot wider than fans would know. -
I feel a lot better about our depth in general now. I'm still concerned that Rollins will be awful, but clearly guy has his role of mentoring (Just like PK did in 14 which he took oh so seriously). Vs LHP, we can use Austin/Garcia instead of Laroche. Vs RHP really hope LaRoche can pack a punch this year.
-
Ventura seemed to guarantee Rollins a spot.

QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Mar 6, 2016 -> 06:21 PM) Based on streamers projections if Sox run melky, Jackson and eaton for most of your everyday outfield is only putting up 32 homeruns combined. Better be hope Frazier can adjust to the AL and Laroche bounces back cause the sox need those big bats to produce. It didn't look much different with Avi starting. Still think we'll be closer to 45 than 35.

Had to read your first sentence a couple times to make sure that I read it right. Definitely thought it said if you are getting drugs in a kids movie.

I go to 2-3 fire games a year but man they are miserable. Weeks without more than 1 goal sometimes. -
QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Mar 6, 2016 -> 05:06 PM) Does this move take Shuck out of the 4th outfielder position? If Avi is on the team as well, I just can't see the Sox carrying 5 outfielders at the same time. I have to imagine so. LaRoche is such a wild card

QUOTE (Charlie Haeger's Knuckles @ Mar 6, 2016 -> 04:45 PM) The "color analyst" was introduced as Brian Anderson between innings, so.... I'm guessing its "our" Brian Anderson? EDIT: he mentioned playing CF behind Charlie Haeger, so I am pretty sure it's BA He was brutal. -
QUOTE (shipps @ Mar 6, 2016 -> 05:04 PM) Okay good. This doesn't make me jump for joy or even a fist pump but I did give a small nod of approval. LOL Not even a fist pump shipps?

So very relieved

Is this Rowand on the webcast? -
QUOTE (bmags @ Mar 3, 2016 -> 01:43 PM) Going to see Lawrence of Arabia on the 70mm screen Music Box set up for Hateful Eight. This was pretty special to see in a packed theatre on such a large screen. But boy is it long.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Mar 3, 2016 -> 02:29 PM) I don't want a comedy trailer to waste the best bits in the movie but scenes and bits that they are using that are clearly intended to be funny shouldn't be cringe worthy. Yeah, it might be bad. I just know I thought spy looked like a horrible movie from seeing the preview (as well as Deadpool, whose preview showed the most painfully unfunny lines) and I ended up liking/loving both.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 3, 2016 -> 03:41 PM) Based on your posts the players will actually get healthier

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Mar 3, 2016 -> 04:00 PM) That wasn't me though. I never brought him up. Ugh, I'm sorry man. My apologies, working on a small screen at work and got confused.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Mar 3, 2016 -> 03:56 PM) Me? Little lost here. You are getting such strong pushback because the usage of Robert Byrd as a tactic to deflect is very common, you aren't the first to do it.
-
Also, buehrle is getting the response he does, because Republicans have continuously comforted themselves with "Robert Byrd was in the KKK and he was a democrate, who are the real racists!??!" and "The south during the jim crow era were Democrats!" without any critical thinking about those items. It's a part of the longstanding tradition of only understanding racism in America as a rhetorical device.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 3, 2016 -> 03:23 PM) All you need to know about Hahn's comments is this, they supposedly stretched the budget for Jimmy Rollins, who, if he sucks in spring training, they owe nothing but the same contract they just gave Loe. It's all just words. Hahn has said they were looking at and needed OF help. He will get one. Just watch, and Uncle Jer will be his competitive self and OK the "stretching of the budget". I would have loved if they signed any of the FA, including Fowler and Desmond, especially if Desmond could play the OF. But they can still upgrade. However, it's a markedly different tone than after Frazier when he was confident we were exploring upgrades in the OF.
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 3, 2016 -> 02:55 PM) They offered Fowler a contract. Man, some people will buy anything. When the Sox talk money, THEY ARE LYING. We get the same story every year. They try to stretch the budget, competitive Uncle Jerry says OK. The Sox have money for another OF. For the love of God, learn from the past. How many times have they cried poor only to pick up more payroll? A lot more than when they have cried poor and the payroll remained the same or went down. Besides, if the difference between Avi and another OF is a playoff team vs. a team that wins 78 games, there aren't a lot of teams that can afford that particular guy anyway. Dick, I don't disagree with you that they couldn't find more money. But, they clearly were not actually able to compete in the FA marketplace as seen by the results. THey were not able to get into competitive bidding wars, and were basically only able to provide below market price contracts. If your plan to improve requires getting below market deals for top pieces on the market, you should re-think your plan. And it did REQUIRE the fa market to upgrade, as we've seen.

Elliot was a five star recruit at RB, not like he turned him from a walk on. I'd rather not use a first round pick on offense and have a hard time believing that position can be BPA anymore.

QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Mar 3, 2016 -> 02:59 PM) Well if you find anyone who is downplaying that let me know. lol "I'm just askin questions here!"
