Yeah he was a 10th round pick so he'd be a 5th round pick this year. Basically looks like I would be looking at losing my 3rd, 4th, 5th on potentially Machado, Altuve, Hernandez

Ian Desmond Signs 1 Year 8M Deal with Rangers

Rangers sign Desmond, per Rosenthal. -
I thought it was because he broke something. I trust them to keep him healthy.

Thanks. Appreciate it. I'm much better at football. Keep in mind, Rodon is more valuable only due to him being basically nothing (21st pick), not straight value add. Fernandez will be costly to keep as he's my 3rd year keeping him.

Maybe better defense? Austin Jackson may be equal at bat, but he doesn't actively make the rest of the team worse with poor baserunning and defense. Austin Jackson makes our pitchers better.

Hey guys, question. My league is a 3 keeper league that is unusually friendly to pitchers. Our keepers accelerate by one round from the previous year. I have both Machado and Arenado, so I was hoping to trade Machado for swapping into higher rounds, and keeping J. Fernandez and maybe Rodon (he was 22nd pick last year). But instead I was offered trade of Altuve for Machado. Altuve would be my 7th round choice. On its face it seems completely fair, but it means I'm keeping two offensive players and losing 2 top ten picks. Thoughts?

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Feb 25, 2016 -> 08:36 AM) Disappointing that General Soreness returned when Derrick Rose was coming back, but great efforts from Gasol, McDermott, Moore, Gibson, Dunleavy, Snell, Felicio, etc. Great win It sounds like the soreness for rose is hamstring related, I don't think he's wrong to sit if that's tight.

I dislike that so much more than a 1 year deal with a loss of a pick for Fowler. You are trading three low ceiling, but likely, major leaguers to the As in that.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Feb 25, 2016 -> 11:25 AM) We had a 90% top rate for a while in the past. It would also have zero chance of passing with a Republican controlled house anyway. While this is true, tax rates that high are more defensible when following a world war that we need to pay for, and people are pumped about winning.

Orioles deserve this treatment.

The Bears went from having the hardest schedule in the league last year to the easiest. They were on the wrong end of the close games record. They will be a very popular pick for the playoffs next year. They had very low turnovers last year in a very new defense. Expect that to improve. I will be very disappointed with no playoff birth next year.

That was awesome to read. Especially when I was about to make fun of it thinking it was a paul sullivan article.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Feb 24, 2016 -> 02:58 PM) I know. It's very strange, but the write ups this year didn't match the PECOTAs. I get BP every year, and this year's White Sox section was about as weird as it gets. They spent a couple pages going over their efforts to replace Ray Durham. They even wrote one of the Sox biggest problems was sticking with their young players too long. Said Carlos Sanchez was not a good defensive 2B, but that he had a lot of speed, which he doesn't. Very amateurish. Sounds like they were definitely talking about Micah.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 22, 2016 -> 01:15 PM) Only death was a suicide by cop? That's a pretty high standard to live up to, so yes. The 2014 standoff had a couple murdered cops IIRC. I don't think you are right. They basically refused to act in Nevada and retreated. You may look at all of this as one big situation as well. If we learned one thing from the wire, is that with any criminals you can basically be assured that sooner or later they will slip up. Requires a lot of patience and boredom. I am much prouder of this result than had they stormed the compound, even though they certainly had a right to do that.

Looked like a weak grounder to 2b.

Right, but, again that's where I kind of think Trump has to be the lesser of their evils. Especially when there's a higher likelihood that he completely flips script in GE and starts prescribing more moderate policies.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Feb 24, 2016 -> 02:00 PM) He's just taken the subtext and made it text. I think there is some difference though, how many white supremacist and neo-nazi organizations were openly and proudly endorsing past GOP candidates? Bernie has some leftist supporters that see things almost exclusively through a class lens and tend to discount racial or gender struggles, claiming it's all really a part of class warfare. (brain: ugh, you know I want to say all of them) Answer: "David Duke?" Curious who you guys prefer. Obviously Rubio is kind of just a run of the mill candidate, likely sticks to government norms. But the fact is he's running on a foreign policy platform and that's scary to me.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 24, 2016 -> 01:32 PM) Dipping the bullets in pigs blood to offend their religion. Well, yes that's probably not word for word in Rubios mouth.

Is there a anti-mexican, anti-muslim position that he's made that has not been matched by Rubio/Cruz? Rubio seems to get this pass as most reasonable when he has tacitly or explicitly backed a lot of the same rhetoric.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 24, 2016 -> 01:16 PM) Then they should have spent more money on one of the better players. ^

Well, if it makes you feel worse I've begun to feel like Trump is the best case scenario out of the right's current trio of leading candidates.
