  1. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Dec 12, 2015 -> 10:25 PM) And the Bucks of all teams, yeesh. Well when MCW goes 70% from the field, it's definitely not your night. On the Bulls, I think they'll definitely make a move before the deadline, they look pretty sluggish currently. As for who'd they target I'm not sure, if they want an upgrade for a stretch 4 over Mirotic, Ryan Anderson is probably the best available. I just think they're sort of stuck in a holding pattern until Rose inevitably moves on when his contract finishes. Otherwise maybe you trade Gasol for a guaranteed 1st and reload for next season potentially. John Paxson and Gar Forman are unfamiliar with the "trades" verb you speak of. There is "signing Kirk Hinrich" and "draft players with Iowa St ties" and that's it.
  2. QUOTE (CWSpalehoseCWS @ Dec 12, 2015 -> 10:40 PM) I had a Cub fan tell me trading Schwarber for Q straight up was idiotic. Cubs fans like having a weak rotation. Well, in their defense, their team was 3rd in team ERA last year. It had the NL bump, but, if that's weak, I'll take it.
  3. Ha, true, now that cubs reporters don't have the reflexive "we'll just trade Castro" they are really going to struggle.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 12, 2015 -> 04:33 PM) 15th in fWAR for hitters after the ASB He's one of the weird cases where the national media, who can largely just check in on stats and general sentiment, have a better gauge on his value than local media, who stopped following the sox after Eaton's horrible first 2 months.
  5. I would say that there is a strange sentiment on the score right now of not knowing that Eaton actually had a pretty good year.
  6. I've yet to meet a blue jays fan who didn't love lowrie. Reyes on the other hand...
  7. Being able to watch Heyward in the OF for the next 8 years would have been a dream.
  8. Do you assume Micah is on big league club no matter what
  9. Looks pretty good. Looking forward to when that AA group hits AAA.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 11, 2015 -> 03:05 PM) Eaton has a good arm, he just takes too damn long to throw the ball. Avi actually did a great job last year of getting rid of the ball quickly. It does annoy me how often he throws the ball 3 feet in front of him and skips in to second base.
  11. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 11, 2015 -> 03:01 PM) Agree, I think Jim does an excellent job. That said, the discussion is awful their (maybe because I'm too old school and can't possibly figure out how to even follow their conversations). I pretty much stick to this forum...any other I find the actual discussion horrible. Just a bunch of people making absurd comments. I know people think Soxtalkers make absurd comments, but damn, some other sites (which are popular) are beyond crazy at how uncivil and terrible the discussion is. For example, chicitysports...my god, I can't even read more than a a few posts. It is pathetic. Sad cause they do get some good discussion on the Bears but too many people just want to say their name associated with a post or something. I really cannot stand commenting systems that aren't chronological. I get you can follow one sort of thread on topic, but it's a damn mess.
  12. I think Jim still does a really good job. SBNation in general hits more than it misses. The Bears SBnation is probably the worst.
  13. I just don't understand why he has an issue playing with pace, to me, he should be really good at it.
  14. Yeah, I have some hope that his vision really is messing things up considering he wasn't this bad in playoffs last year, but his complete inability to finish in a crowded space is just heartbreaking. Rose is done. Noah's done. We went from a young, explosive athletic team, to a slow plodding group. Not fun to watch.
  15. Guys, having Eaton allows us to have Laroche, don't forget that.
  16. He's one I'm interested in, in terms of market. Will those that tried to go big reward him big as plan c? Or will the market be dried up, and he ends up signing at a reasonable melky cabrera range. Not sure I'd want this. Would plug us up with a player we'd still look to upgrade on.
  17. I still think this podcast is very compelling as basically a modern rashomon (though without anyone being witness). Take normal people in an extreme situation where the truth is obscured, and try to get as close as you can to what the truth could be. It's just really compelling entertainment on truth and doubt and storytelling.
  18. I'm thinking this may be an arod/pujols scenario where there's a number of teams in the race and then all the sudden the number is way over what people expected.
  19. I'm interested to see what happened, butthis one is a lot less obscure. There is no guilty/not guilty. His story is insane.
  20. If you were a reds fan, and they made that trade, how would you feel? That is horrendous.
  21. Except it isn't going to 4chan and being offended, it's getting personal emails of your address and pictures of your home.

    Star Wars movies

QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Dec 10, 2015 -> 02:00 PM) Why does it matter? The changing of that little detail did nothing to alter the tone or purpose of the scene. I never got why people were so upset. I'm sorry but for someone that puts so much emphasis on producing and directing, to suddenly discount the impact of a certain direction of a scene is ridiculous. We are talking about a scene where a main character is essentially deciding to murder someone vs. acting in self defense. That's a big difference.

QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 10, 2015 -> 03:55 PM) The Golden Globes should really go away. They've been a joke for years. I love the golden globes. At least they are self-aware it's just a big excuse to get stars drunk and dressed up.
