QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Dec 15, 2015 -> 01:51 AM) I thought that movie was terrible. It relies to heavily on references and horribly overused clichés. This movie tried to be a comedy and a drama at the same time, while not prioritizing one over the other and it failed it at both. Hugely disappointing. Those were the directors choices, you can't criticize them.
  2. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 14, 2015 -> 11:14 AM) My parents are taking the kids, so we're seeing it Friday night, 8pm. At one of those theaters where you can reserve seats - which is huge, as we don't need to sit in a line forever to get good seats. Got decent though not perfect seats, was surprised they were still available. 3D showing, but not IMAX. Yeah, I was able to get tix saturday. In the defense of the media that I yelled at, it was hard for me to find a showing.
  3. Well, I'm sure with Katherine Bigelow we'll be getting the CIA/Military story they want out.
  4. That opt-out is nice. But, can't say I'd be so psyched about $220 million being spent on Samardjiza and Cueto. Cueto can be amazing, but he is so nuts.
  5. Possibly. Or there are going to be some horrendous pitching contract/performance in that division. Feel pretty good about Greinke, but do not really like what Giants are doing.

Saw the night before. Its exactly what you'd expect. Had lots of funny parts, had no real point to it being made. The only thing I found interesting is Joseph Gordon Leavitt was not very good in it. I think around looper it began a push that he was a new superstar. He was good in looper but I don't see any charisma in him. I don't think he could carry a weak script. He was incredibly annoying in this.
  7. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 14, 2015 -> 09:45 AM) Okay I realize part of this is cause he missed the easy ones a week before. But 50 yards in those conditions is no gimme. I really don't understand what the hell we were doing with the playcalling, etc. That said, our oline played like ass. I didn't even know how Jay was walking after that first half. So the wind was at his back, which is why people are even harder on him. That said, in 3 years, bears would probably be in the playoffs 2/3 if gould could make his kicks when it counted.
  8. I'm interested in seeing the return though. Seriously, last year, everyone was just saying "pitching isn't that valuable, you can find pitching anywhere now"...well the results are in and that's not true. Certainly think he'll get a top 100 prospect and maybe 2, but not a haul.
  9. Using Tim Anderson now for Todd Frazier means you can't use him later. The system just doesn't have the depth to trade away for 2 years of frazier when it is still so far from competing. Todd Frazier will not put us in the playoffs. Look at the lineups/rotations of the playoff teams. In two years, if Anderson sucks, we'll be in exactly the same place we are right now.
  10. I'm fine with this season. Next year everyone will say "man the bears performed poorly in one score games, they should see a regression", and they are probably right! The real issue to clean up next year, assuming kicker returns to normal, is penalties. Upgrading at guard seems like it should kill two birds with one stone there.
  11. If you are depending on your quarterback to hit 60 yard hail marys to defeat a 2-7 team, you don't deserve to make the playoffs.
  12. So Blake bottles had a hell of a year. Jax may be really good next year.
  13. Do we think Carlos Perez will go stateside this year?
  14. I remember reading an article on how fox would be defined by finally winning in December. Wellp.
  15. QUOTE (LDF @ Dec 13, 2015 -> 12:36 PM) so does that mean, they will not make any improvement on that front??? they are being shortsighted in order not to spend money. How is it shortsighted?
  16. Well this is a trestman game, same record as last year, great season.
  17. It honestly feels like no single player has lost the Bears more games than fuller.
  18. The only thing I could have cared about this year is Kevin white. I am pretty done with football at this point
  19. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Dec 13, 2015 -> 06:59 AM) Am I the only person in this world that thinks Schwarber's declining stats through out the season and lack of position are bad omens? No position isn't great, but dude made it to big leagues in one year. I'd not be that concerned that he wasn't an mvp in that amount of time.
  20. Looks like team gave up on this year. For the best.
  21. This is very easy right now. Short passes getting way more than it should, and awful coverage by fuller
  22. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Dec 13, 2015 -> 12:58 AM) Kendricks, Hammel, Haren and Wada were fairly pedestrian....it was just that Arrieta was that excellent, along with solid contributions from Lester. So pretty much like the White Sox, top heavy because of Sale and Q but not especially balanced. Rodon's second half really helped maintain the numbers as well as Shark tanked. White Sox were 14th in team ERA.
