  1. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 22, 2015 -> 04:39 PM) His age is always a concern, but he seems to be getting smarter as a hitter. If he signed for 5 years, you would have him through his age 36 season. USCF isn't a bad place for aging OF. And Paulie was fine his age 36 season until his wrist gave way. He was hitting .400 in May. MGordon seems more athletic. Any way you slice it, you probably have to give any of these OF a contract until they are at least that age. I also think he will age well. He has a good eye, he makes good contact. He will decline to a .720 OPS player at that age? It's not ideal but I think all of us are also assuming 16-18 mill not $20 mill, and I imagine by 2021 $18 million will be a 1.5 War player
  2. This left side though LF: Gordon 3b: Frazier SS: Saladino (tongue drooling) That's elite.
  3. QUOTE (CWSpalehoseCWS @ Dec 22, 2015 -> 04:28 PM) Really hope this is just the Sox trying to get either Cespedes or Upton's price down. Gordon is a great player, but he is not the player I want the Sox to sign. His age is cause enough for concern for me. Honestly he was the one I wanted most ahead of the frazier/lawrie signings. Now I'm intrigued by the possibility of having a team with above average power, but I still think the benefits of adding a top def LFer (which improves our pitching) that also helps our offense would be incredible. But I like all of em.
  4. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Dec 22, 2015 -> 04:14 PM) What about the Spurs? Put Butler on their team and they're still a championship contender and he's their best player to boot. Kawhi, lamarcus aldridge.
  5. LOL Chisoxfn, come on, Rose ain't getting you a recent #4 overall pick. Rose for nick young maybe.
  6. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Dec 22, 2015 -> 02:36 PM) And his lack of power in a good year he's .800 OPS, more realistically .750 OPS from now on. We were talking about how heyward's .750 ops was worth it.
  7. You read that and thought Rose was the main problem?
  8. QUOTE (Knackattack @ Dec 22, 2015 -> 01:31 PM) Just move Gordon to RF, bat him 4th behind Abreu and in front of Frazier (that's a lot of 3 run bombs), find some insurance guys for the pen/rotation to battle it out in ST and call it an offseason. Keep elite things elite!
  9. QUOTE (Al Lopez's Ghost @ Dec 22, 2015 -> 01:42 PM) My bad, sorry. It's alright, a lot of M's moved in that trade.
  10. QUOTE (Al Lopez's Ghost @ Dec 22, 2015 -> 01:15 PM) He was traded, wasn't he? No, he was an initial name, but the moved players were micah, trayce and montas.
  11. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 22, 2015 -> 08:42 AM) Different sport, but Brandon Scherff an Iowa lineman last year, had his knee scoped and missed one practice. Knee scope seems so vague. Noah had his knee scoped and was horrible for a season.
  12. You have to wonder how Wainwright he will be, but that's a great rotation. Good signing.
  13. So, there have been no posts asking if Gordon is about to sign with white sox and it has been here for a day and 100 posts. I think we're okay. Gordon Market Heating Up is not "Gordon signs with White Sox"
  14. Found the article I read on my phone. This makes so much more sense: http://www.vox.com/2015/12/21/10634568/sta...lic-first-order
  15. Do we have anyone that can let us know what the Kansas City media thinks? Would be a huge board assert imo.
  16. I'm on phone but there is a voxplainer on the political outlay of the new Star Wars that was so helpful.
  17. It's funny, ahead of all of our moves I wanted Gordon the most. Now I want others. I think the defensive benefit (going so hard in the OF, right next to Eaton) would add a lot of watchability and edge to this team. But I feel like all of the top 3 would add a lot, but the edginess of Cespedes and Gordon (jumping into stands, etc) would be a lot of fun. Plus my tix are in RF so ...
  18. If we move Pau I would like to start playing Portis more than 0 mpg.
  19. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 21, 2015 -> 04:35 PM) You put him in a proper platoon situation and put him in a place where he can be a valid contributor. But who has the team to bother with that? Carrying a player that requires a platoon that can play 1 OF position (poorly)?
  20. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 21, 2015 -> 04:42 PM) I agree, but I think it also clears the log jam and allows Noah to be the #1 option at center, with Taj, Niko and Portis rotating in at 4/5 where needed. How does it clear a logjam when you are talking about a return of Zbo?
  21. Moving Pau without getting wing help doesn't make sense to me. It's at best a wash.
  22. If Avisail garcia could not start on a bad team desperate for offense, what chance does he have on any other?
  23. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Dec 21, 2015 -> 04:02 PM) I saw it at Icon in the South Loop, good theater. I just felt his audio wasn't as crisp. I liked the sound of him with his mask on, don't get me wrong. But I missed a few minor things. Maybe it was just me. Saw it at the same theatre and did not have that experience. Thought of bane and how much better this was.
  24. True, I have no idea who that tweet is.
