  1. Reminds me a lot of samardjiza trade. Tons of smoke over weekend then didn't happen until two days later
  2. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Dec 29, 2015 -> 11:34 PM) http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-big-leag...-233047425.html Lists top five teams most in need of Cespedes... 1. SFG (Pagan would move to a corner) 2. CHW (replacing Garcia in LF makes no sense but okay) 3. Angels (Todd Cunningham slated to start now) 4. Mets (not happening) 5. Orioles (need to compensate for predicted loss of C.Davis) Others: KC, Detroit, StL, Nationals Just FYI the article did not have an others section mentioning KC. That was a caulfield special.
  3. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Dec 29, 2015 -> 11:20 PM) Ken RosenthalVerified account ‏@Ken_Rosenthal On vacation for a week starting now. Happy New Year to everyone!!! ... Lol was just about to write exact same thing
  4. Where were you when you read four hundred fake tweets whilst trying to find real news
  5. I was very supportive of Alexei coming back, I think mentally he will have a big bounce back after visiting Cuba. But I would like to take the time to give a young player like Tyler a chance. I'm 80% sure it will backfire, but it's better than if a vet is terrible. I'd take alexei on a one year deal
  6. QUOTE (Vance Law @ Dec 29, 2015 -> 01:57 PM) This doesn't really follow logically. Anyone can make up as many random deals or free agent signings they want and tweet them. And if they happen to hit on one, then they're somehow a trusted source? I'll do one right now. White Sox to sign Cespedes. Timestamp. Not sure you understand logic.
  7. Who sets Davis' market? Or does the lack of bench mark create the impasse anyway
  8. So, going through the thread, essentially nothing has changed in 3 days but posters have decided the sox lost out on all three.
  9. Showing you are cold blooded by forcing people to work on a religious holiday and time with family would really gain my respect. Family is weakness.
  10. Monday? Sheesh, what are they? Spending the holidays with FAMILY? Jerks.
  11. Did Gordon sign yet? What's the word on SS? Rolling with Tyler or signing alexei
  12. Well, the good news is that this process taking a while isn't hurting the sox at all. Just us. But also enjoy it since after this we are done til march
  13. Expiring contracts haven't mattered for 3 years
  14. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Dec 23, 2015 -> 02:40 PM) That is too much for Gordon IMO. I'd rather give 120 million to Cespedes or Upton. 4 for 78 would be a coup.
  15. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Dec 23, 2015 -> 01:10 PM) Wonder if the Bulls would trade one of those contracts for Joe Johnson's ending deal. Otherwise someone like Gallinari from the Nuggets is probably who I figure they'd like to target as a 3, someone who can shoot and is a good ball handler. Why are you trying to ruin our Christmas, D?
  16. QUOTE (shipps @ Dec 23, 2015 -> 10:46 AM) The Sox signing 3 of the most expensive FA outfielders in the market is not even worth the thought. It isnt just unlikely to happen it is for sure not going to happen and pretty ridiculous to ponder as a possibility. IMHO.
  17. LaRoche signaled going for it last year. If we can unload him, great, if we can't, I think he will be much better.
  18. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Dec 23, 2015 -> 09:10 AM) Looks like the market for Gordon/Upton/Cespedes has become a bit smaller now. Just yesterday the Giants were rumored to be looking at one of the three and it sounds as though that may have changed. "The Giants remain unlikely to play at the top of the free agent outfield market, according to the report, but might look at the next level down. Two names in play are Dexter Fowler and Gerardo Parra, with another possibility being the addition of a right-handed-hitting platoon partner for Gregor Blanco. San Francisco is also in communication with the Rockies on their outfielders, Rosenthal’s colleague Jon Morosi reports." Wonder if the Giants would have any interest in Avi as a platoon partner? I don't expect much of anything in return but it would open up a roster spot on the Sox for a FA while the Giants get a relatively cheap platoon option in Avi. It may also mean among the teams bidding that they are more expensive.
  19. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Dec 22, 2015 -> 05:00 PM) I enjoy talking Baseball but in the end I give not a s*** about the cubs, their fans of how many people go to cubs games. As a long time Sox fan, that stuff means less than zero to me. This is Baseball not RISK.
  20. There's like a thousand fire trucks outside my building in the loop.
