2015-2016 NBA Thread
Honestly won't get excited about Bulls until I see meaningful changes in offense. This team is still slow and plodding, with everyone watching isos. If he really can improve pace and get th eball moving (Dunleavy is the best on the team at this), I'll get on board. Would love to trade for a PG and get Portis involved. I still don't think we have the players to run this offense, seems like a me-too move.

Financial News
The point isn't that the stock market is down and that is connected to wealth, its that any good news now is leading the fed to rate hikes, which will affect the economy and main street.

Financial News
Good news is bad news. Heck of an employment report with a nice massive dip in the "part time worker looking for full time" work demo. This of course means stock market crashes with fear of rate hike.

Technology catch-all thread
I love the "live" camera pics. Went to colorado a few weeks ago and have all these awesome little vignette movies. It reminds me of Zoe on HTC One except you don't need to do anything different than take a picture. The "press and hold" tasks stuff I haven't used that much, but was a little fun for pictures in text when I'm on the run.

Missed the game last night, nice to see. Still want to see our pace enter top ten or else I don't know what Hoiberg is for.

My/Your Off Season Plan
I am surprised you all view Jose's opinion as controversial. I have zero doubt that Kershaw would have a higher ERA in AL. Doesn't mean he wouldn't still be top 5 in ERA.

Really feel like losing Gibson would be addition by subtraction at this point. Team needs the energy Noah used to provide.

State of the White Sox Address a Position
Do not re-sign albers. Try and find another albers for albers price last year.

The Democrat Thread
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Nov 4, 2015 -> 01:18 PM) On the state-wide levels and governorships, a complete disaster. Look at the comments from the Dem losers in KY vis a vis the national party/Obama and being out of touch. Pretty blistering. More than just sour grapes. Because of Obama for eight years and now with Clinton the presumptive winner (by many), there seems to be a nonchalant attitude about all of this. Without the white house, DNC saw priority to grow house/senate coalition to override his agenda, with the white house, dnc does not see priority to grow house/senate coalition with moderate members as they never want to defend the votes anyway. Its a problem long term.

Has the country (or the world) really gone this far off the rails?
I'm not going to justify Chicago. It is so sad. The tribune twitter feed continues to shock me. Today a 9 year old who skipped halloween for safety was gunned down yesterday.

Manny Acta offered coaching job; Takes Job with M's
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 4, 2015 -> 11:07 AM) If he interviewed, you would have to think he has at least some interest. I just wonder what the Robin haters will say if he does eventually get Robin's job: 73-89 59-102 26-61 69-93 80-82 65-91 Universally known that anyone that questions Robin ventura loves Manny Acta.

My/Your Off Season Plan
Here's my thoughts. We have a bad offense. If we acquire a top 8-11 catcher, we'd be moving from, what 78 wrC+ to 100 and that would cost either a lot of prospects or 18-22 million To acquire a top ten 2b, we'd move from a 60 wrC+ player to 110 wrC+ for much cheaper. If they really want to win now, kendrick really makes sense. Now, if you admit that this year is impossible to win in, you let sanchez/micah at 2b and flowers at C unless it presents itself.

OBAMA/TRUMPCARE MEGATHREAD
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 4, 2015 -> 10:06 AM) Health care is one of the few areas where I just don't know that for-profit entities are the best way to go. Their interests simply run counter to the needs of consumers in too many ways, and the bar for entry of competitors is too high for practical competition. I don't know if this is it as much as it doesn't feature a rational consumer due to the stakes involved.

2015-16 NHL thread
I think we've all watched enough sports to know not to extrapolate first month results over the whole year, and enough blackhawks to not give up on them after 1 month. If they are 5+ points behind with a month to go I'll begin to be slightly worried.

FOX World Series coverage: Loud-mouthed, distracting, senseless
It is amazing to me how awful baseballs national color commentators are. To go from Tim Carver to Harold Reynolds. It is insane for the sport that basically invented thoughtful analysis they have the absolute worse personalities. Right now its NHL EPL NBA NFL MLB

2015-2016 NFL Thread
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 3, 2015 -> 03:24 PM) So, Vernon Davis was worth a 6th Rounder, and the bears got 6th rounders for Bostic and Allen. I would say Pace did well Yeah, and Khari Lee was a 6th... NFL trades make no sense for value. Basically if someone has a market value contract on them, nobody is going to soak that in plus pay you a premium.

2015-2016 NFL Thread
QUOTE (shipps @ Nov 3, 2015 -> 03:14 PM) Someone was saying on the radio it would take two 1's and a 2 to get Thomas. That couldnt be accurate right? The Browns were asking for two #1s, which, these leaks I've always found stupid because that doesn't really mean anything.

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Nov 3, 2015 -> 03:04 PM) Broncos working on a deal to get Browns LT Joe Thomas This makes a lot of sense for them. They really need to push hard for this year as that defense is tremendous.

Eaton, flowers, Brantley and Micah johnson have surgeries
If there's a reason to trade Eaton, it's shorting his health.
