  1. I can't stop laughing at this play. Has there been any explanation from Pagano on what was supposed to happen?
  2. I guess we saw the bad John fox there today. Amazing coaches paid to know how things like "a clock" works can be so much worse than casual watchers.
  3. I was hoping it would work in the case where doctors were recommending a high cost pill (best example was a pill for skin care that was $80 pill) when a generic was available. The deductible was the same, and when it wasn't, the pill manufacturer was providing coupons to make it the same. This did some effort to remove that incentive. I think competition and pricing only works in the places it alreayd works for, non urgent cosmetic procedures (braces, skin care, etc).
  4. I'd imagine the unemployment rate for people with law degrees is probably very low (regardless of whether they became a partner). in some demographics, the unemployment rates are 20+%, median incomes in the $10,000 - $16,000 range. So the "got a law degree and ended up doing x and paying off student loans" is probably incredible progress. Re: STEM degrees just overloading with students and can't finding jobs - 1) doesn't require advanced degrees with higher debt 2) having that skill still means you can do a lot of things! I guess my point is, they aren't speaking to you.
  5. Looking at the lineups of the playoff teams it's a gut punch of how far we have to go. We have a bunch of players that we say "well they'd be good enough for that position", but that's what you say when you have 4-5 star players to offset the "good enough". You can't have good enough at every position!
  6. Cubs look like the best team left to me in NL. Jays in AL. So Jays will probably lose.
  7. LaFofo is my favorite writer.
  8. Ugh, happiness.
  9. Not that concerned long season.
  10. I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't an increase. I think it's always more noticeable when it's a rash of skill players vs. trench bodies. This year just seems to be a run of WR/QB injuries.
  11. Not enough for ROY though.

QUOTE (3GamesToLove @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 08:01 AM) To be fair, he had worked for teams in the past. I always got the impression that the writing was something to do until the next team came along. Not to say it wasn't high quality--it was really good and I enjoyed it a lot. Probably because of his name I always thought he was like 25.
  13. Bartolo has always been the best at deploying that high inside fastball
  14. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 12, 2015 -> 09:18 PM) Bobby Portis may not win ROTY but he'll be in the conversation. And if I'm wrong, just ignore this. He would need an injury. He's really solid at the little things though. I think he's a future piece for sure.
  15. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Oct 12, 2015 -> 07:55 PM) Or we'll hear pundits say next season, "this is the weakest collection of international prospects we've ever witnessed" too true
  16. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Oct 12, 2015 -> 08:12 PM) He didn't even use steroids. Something in a supplement he wasn't suppose to take, didn't ask team doctors and now he has to pay the price. LOL
  17. The Ole Ball Coach is retiring per twitter. No idea effective when. That program certainly declined last 2 years, but man, college football is not going to be as fun without Spurrier. His press conferences were hilarious performance art. Sorry to see what happens to the hatin ass spurrier columns.
  18. Was there a good interview about why price was used?
  19. I have never noticed that either. Maybe it's just that this is the first time you've stopped at a stop sign and are noticing what happens when cars decelerate?
  20. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Oct 12, 2015 -> 07:45 PM) Rizzo, Bryant, Schwarber, Castro, Soler all contributed. One day someone will say the same of Abreu, Olt, Flowers, Saladino, Thompson............ Better to focus on the mets success than the cubs if you are a sox fan. Kills me that the cubs signed martinez though. I am already prepping myself for disappointment when we only spend the limit on int'l players next year. ("But we'll really clean up in 2017!!!")
  21. Wow, cubs got something special brewing. Power definitely is winning the day.

Congrats to him, must be a crazy feeling to cover something and then go into affect it.
  23. QUOTE (danman31 @ Oct 12, 2015 -> 06:10 PM) This seriously couldn't have happened two days ago? Eh, wouldn't have mattered. This senior offensive line is brutal. But I really think 2017 is going to be a 2007
  24. I would guess it's about the same but you have runs of bad luck. I would not be surprised if Bears do well next year and it coincides with a suddenly healthy team. 2013 was brutal dline injuries, 2014 was fairly healthy but slausson hurt to lose. This year its fairly democratic.
  25. Rooting for the Jays. Honestly at this point it looks like the power heavy teams (yankees aside) have done well in the playoffs. It's so hard to string together multiple hits in playoffs, those solo home runs are such nice pads. Like when Crede kept us in those games with his solo hrs.
