  1. The upgrade offensively at catcher from flowers to average is just not as exciting to me as other positions.
  2. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Sep 29, 2015 -> 10:49 AM) To take it to Verizon, you have to pay the rest of the lease though, right? Is their also a contract breakage or do you just have to pay off the lease (and thus just own the phone)? No, my lease is through Apple, and verizon is also CDMA. I am no longer on contract with sprint so can leave at any time.
  3. I'm not saying SMU was innocent, I'm just saying it's funny how SMU has twice now been the one school the NCAA could throw the hammer down on.
  4. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Sep 29, 2015 -> 11:09 AM) If you watch that game last night and grade Rodgers out as negative, you need to rethink how you grade players. They gave the same grade to Teddy Bridgewater who had 121 yards passing, 0 TD and 1 INT. Rodgers had 5 TD, 333 passing yards and 0 turnovers. So to them, that is pretty much the same performance. Also, the original grade they had on Rodgers was -2.2, they changed it to -0.8. So originally they had him and Jimmy Clausen having equally bad games. If you replaced Claussen with Rodgers, you are telling me the bears would have had more than 63 yards passing and 18 punts? You are being a homer.
  5. I mean, I don't know how you can get that angry at rose. I understand getting angry, but it's hard not to just laugh at the absurdity of it. He's just so bad at the media. I think the dude just has 1-2 thoughts he can hold in his head at a time and the good news is it means he can work hard if that's what he's set to.
  6. I mean, the report that they should have been able to create but for some reason stole information from the criminal investigation and thus could not use.
  7. Tax cuts don't cause deficits. They spur so much growth you wouldn't believe it and then our major concern will be how do we deal with how great america is at 100% growth so
  8. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 29, 2015 -> 10:52 AM) The report is pretty blatant So was Miami.
  9. Getting new iphone today, leasing through apple and staying on sprint. Doing this for my wife, but like the fact that I can take us to verizon at any time if I find that more problems were with htc one one sprint vs. sprint itself.
  10. I guess SMU is the one school the NCAA feels safe to flex its muscles on.
  11. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 29, 2015 -> 09:14 AM) Except guys that get paid a lot more then us have access to these sorts of metrics, and a lot more. Even if fans don't know this stuff, a lot of baseball execs do. Honestly I have zero belief that if the execs were to rate the top 20 pitchers in baseball that Quintana would make the list. Look at how he doesn't make the top 50 value pieces in baseball over and over. There is a global conspiracy to believe this great pitcher is great.
  12. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Sep 29, 2015 -> 08:19 AM) Pro Football Focus gave Aaron Rodgers a grade of -0.8 for his play last night. I like PFF, but I don't know how you come up with that. PFF seems to mainly function to confirm your biases when it shows it and ignoring everything else. PFF routinely rates Matt Forte as like, the worst Bears offensive player.

I thought pitch perfect 2 was fine. It's first 30 minutes weren't good but I thought it had a strong last hour.
  14. I'm worried about trading quintana. I feel like the entire league and media and world has been colluding to convince everyone this clearly top level pitcher is actually a back of the rotation starter.
  15. We probably will trade Q because he's the only one I don't think we should trade anymore.
  16. there is some incorrect info that the bears are still on hook for next years bonus. We ate it this year, but saved 8.5 next.
  17. QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Sep 28, 2015 -> 12:35 PM) People thought Jerry Jones was insane for spending that many draft picks on offensive linemen. The Cowboys have a ton of issues on defense, still, but they keep themselves in games with a qb with an arm and all the time in the world. I'm just speculating, but it may be that offensive lineman work more as a team of 4-5 to the point where, when one of them needs to get paid, teams break up the line and suddenly that's the end of the line (pun intended). Offensive line chemistry just completely breaks down like it has in Seattle. Hopefully the Bears are ready to keep Long around, because he looks great overall. Bill polian recently said the reduction in practice has hurt the oline most. Says the unit takes a longest to gel as one and identify exotic new looks.
  18. wow, that's awesome.
  19. This is just not a very exciting FA crop to me. But if we signed Gordon, I would be happy with watching our OF defense move from bad to good and seeing how it helps our staff. That obp is nice too. But, it just seems so silly for the team, where it's at, to go all out on that. I keep saying it, but honestly, I don't know how you fix this team.
  20. I still watch most games, go to 3/4, watch all playoff games. Like the portis pick a lot. Love Mirotic, love butler. But it's hard to watch a team be really good but run up against teams that are just superior so many years in a row.
  21. What do people think Alex Gordon will get?
  22. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Sep 28, 2015 -> 12:03 PM) To be fair, while we have swung and missed at big-name players in the past (FWIW, Melo openly said he wishes he came to the Bulls last year), there was no way we could have signed Aldridge this year. Noah-Gasol-Gibson-Miroric-Portis is already a logjam. Say we get rid of Gibson to make room for him, we'd have an even bigger problem, as Gasol-Aldridge is the best duo, but Noah probably wants to start and Niko will develop best with starter minutes. I'm not saying we could have this year, nor are we set-up to add another PF and have it be a good move. But since 2010, we've had all of these plans to get these star players. It would be one thing if they never switched teams, but they have, and we didn't get them. And we aren't going to get Durant. But also, and this isn't specifically at you, but the Bulls are responsible for the makeup of their team beyond one year. That they were not able to add a star player because they didn't have the pieces or the money, that is their fault. Other teams, playoff teams, were able to successfully add FA/Trades for stars. The bulls haven't because frankly they don't want to.
  23. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Sep 28, 2015 -> 10:50 AM) I didn't realize that happened this offseason. This year we didn't shoot for anything big, but the LeMarcus Aldridge bulls rumors have been around for years. The Kevin Love rumors had always been around. Melo rumors. Lebron. Wade going home. Etc etc. All those players have switched teams now except Wade...and none ended up on Bulls.
  24. Do people view TVR as an actual piece on defense or just replaceable depth.
  25. Yeah I guess I'm not excited about this year at all. I'm intrigued by Hoiberg, but it's still so maddening to me that the Bulls keep having these elaborate offseason plays to get another star player, and then the other top teams just run circles around them in doing so. Spurs are loaded. Cavs are loaded. Not sure what our purpose is as a team.
