  1. QUOTE (chw42 @ May 4, 2015 -> 07:08 PM) I was seriously wondering why Thibs even tried that. It's stupid. Thompson is so good at rebounding. Niko is a stick. If they play Thompson and Mozgov, you have to play 2 of Taj, Gasol, and Noah. I thought maybe if Niko is out at 3 would take him out, but TT is allowed to run in and foul the crap out of our bugs trying to rebound.
  2. Niko may need to only be in when Thompson is not.
  3. The refs were influenced by Lebrons fake "I just reviewed it " no doubt.
  4. Webber can be good. I think he needs a 3 person crew though.
  5. I feel like I don't enjoy TNT as much anymore (Game calls). Not sure why, don't think they've changed up lineup much.
  6. QUOTE (3GamesToLove @ May 4, 2015 -> 11:38 AM) ? The schedule has been unbalanced since 1969's realignment...long before interleague came around. Honestly, everyone on this board knows exactly what that post is referencing, including you yourself. I'm sure you feel very smart right now though.
  7. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 4, 2015 -> 11:39 AM) The problem is that rebuilding on the fly has left us in a position that right now is as bad as we were 2 years ago when we started the most recent attempt at rebuilding on the fly. Even with this garbage season, I feel much more confident with the state of franchise than 2013. I agree that what the cubs did would have been preferable, but I would laugh that we tried to justify this and basically create a lost decade, basically for the almost year of 2012.
  8. Nothing would be more comical to me than spending last 5 years showing how superior trying to win on the fly is than complete gut rebuild only to waste all of the talent found during that time to go into a 6 year rebuild.
  9. My "season in a nutshell" momens: -Being so pumped about how dynamic having Micah and Eaton on the basepaths at the same time will be. I've seen this happen 3 times with 0 outs, and every time a double play was hit into.
  10. Man I did not like Hundley at all. He always reminded me of Josh Freeman, someone who we just kept hearing about as a future prospect that I couldn't believe was the case in college. I'm glad he fell.
  11. TBH, I've never seen "it's early" ever turn out to be prophetic for a comeback. To me, this is the healthiest and most ready the team should be, and that version just came out and got smoked.
  12. Back in the days before unbalanced schedules, we could have pointed to June's interleague run and thought we could get back on track. Something like 2010's 22-7 run. Oh well.
  13. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ May 4, 2015 -> 10:15 AM) The thing about this year isn't that the team had holes like the projections said, it's that even the GOOD players have sucked. Aside from health, this season almost could not have gone worse than it has. It's just a frustrating pile of crap and Cameron's probably right that it's already too big a hole to dig out from, considering that we just happen to be in a division with the two top teams in the AL so far. I've said it before, but if someone had put the actual hitting lines of our team into a predictions post they would have been laughed at as the most pessimistic poster of all time.
  14. Also - I love how Michael Sam is somehow the only example used now for whether a pick will succeed or fail.
  15. When a manager takes a promising team and leads them at their healthiest to the 2nd worse record in their league, I'd say it is likely grass is greener elsewhere.
  16. I think Bears best chance to gather more picks was in the 4th round, as there was a flurry of trades to move up...but on the other hand it seemed to stop after the first 4 picks had movement.
  17. Paul's hurt? Edit: wow, and hammy a never heal easy
  18. Micah doing his best Sharyl Sandberg impression
  19. Would like if Soto could take first walk here.
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 3, 2015 -> 02:16 PM) I'm used to this level of disappointment. 2013 was the exact same setup. Lots of money spent, $120 million payroll, seemingly full roster you'd hope could improve on previous year, get on the field and its a clown show from the start. that 2013 was not shocking to me at all. That was an old team. This was the start of the new era of players. And they are not good. And there is no top notch replacements coming.
  21. QUOTE (reiks12 @ May 3, 2015 -> 02:15 PM) I don't believe that Ventura is to blame for this mess but there needs to be someone responsible. Unfortunately for him it's the manager. I hope they players realize their pathetic play is going to result in people losing jobs. agree. I don't think Robin caused all poor play, but I don't particularly care about his career in managing and I don't feel he is going to get things under control.
  22. I'm not laughing. I've never been so disappointed by a baseball team. There is no positive that will be taken from this year. This play is devastating for the entire franchise.
