  1. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ May 5, 2015 -> 10:20 PM) That ball was over the fence to start with and Melky did a helluva job getting his glove on it, Actually it went right in his glove but popped out on impact. There's a reason why you don't see too many spectacular HR robbing catches at the Cell even though the fence height is pretty ideal for those kind of catches and that's because of how the fence is. Since the picnic area is there ,the wall isn't flat but there's the chain link fence then the padding on the top which prevents fielders from getting much height on their jump. Usually there shoulder hits the padding and their body goes into the fencing which bends them and prevents them from getting that arm extension . That is a great point and I"ve never thought about that before.
  2. How bad was Melky's drop of the home run?
  3. Crawford was great. Still wish he would change his name to three syllables so that effing chant can go away.
  4. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ May 5, 2015 -> 04:17 PM) Rose shot 28% on shots between 10-16 feet and 38% on shots from 16-23 feet. He shot poorly all year on shots that weren't at the rim. Unless you can show me what Rose shot on uncontested jumpers from 10-23 feet I will attribute this to a lot of his garbage shot selection and random long floaters and lamely trying to create contact.

Did we figure out the Montas disappearance?
  6. QUOTE (chw42 @ May 5, 2015 -> 04:09 PM) The way we shot in game 1 isn't sustainable whatsoever. I think that's my biggest worry at the moment. On the other hand, it was remarkable how wide open people were for those shots. If you leave Gasol wide open from 15 feet, it's going in 80% of the time. That's a free throw for him. Rose, his midrange has looked good all year, and it's there for him to shoot.
  7. Well...stupid is as stupid does, Bleacher Report.
  8. The Heat were in 4 straight finals. They beat an OKC team that featured 1 future MVP and 2 future mvp finalists. They were a top team in defensive and offensive efficiency. They were stacked. The cavs depth is mostly composed of vets 4 years older than they were on Heat. They have maybe 5 NBA players at the moment until JR smith gets back. But - they still are really good. They just lost a game where opponent shot 50%+ from 3pt range. I'm sure they know that won't last.
  9. makes me nauseous
  10. QUOTE (chw42 @ May 5, 2015 -> 12:53 PM) The thing I'm sort of afraid of is Rose not being able to finish said drives. If Blatt does actually put somebody on Gasol, Derrick needs to make them pay for it by driving and beating 2 defenders (as opposed to 3). Butler's drives were cut off too, and he can get to the line more. Also - if rose is driving and missing, that's the one thing noah can still do - putbacks.
  11. QUOTE (scs787 @ May 5, 2015 -> 11:21 AM) If I'm reading it correctly, UDFAs can't redo their contracts until after year 2. But ya, being frugal could be irrelevant. There's a cap on individual UDFA signings, so as long as teams saved enough money for 1 more UDFA it's all an even playing field. Playing time right away obviously is in favor of the Bears, but I'm sure there are other teams with holes on their line with money left as well. Saints for one.
  12. I do not believe bulls will shoot 50% + this series but I think that PNR will be there all game, or else we will feast with drives.
  13. QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ May 5, 2015 -> 10:45 AM) I dont think its the only reason the players respect him, but its part of it. The guy works his ass off to an extent that is crazy even for coaches and the track record he has of maximizing every ounce of defense out of every player gets a lot of guys paid. Plus, and Thibs has said this much, there's been a lot of adversity around the Bulls for the last 3 years and he's handled like a pro every step of the way. Well, yeah, agree with that, but the reason it still works in year 5, to me, is that they know he is going to drive them in practice, but what happens there stays there. If he drove them like crazy and publicly called them out for effort I could see it collapsing pretty easily.
  14. In the most pro-thibs mindset I can get, I choose to believe that he threw out Kirk in game 1 in hopes we could win, saving the secret sauce of Snell!
  15. Regardless of whether we were frugal, that may give us a $10-$15k advantage. This guy will go to wherever he can start right away and parlay it into a deal. If I were him (assuming he is not the scum of the earth who murdered his pregnant girlfriend), I'd already plan on holding out after year 1.
  16. QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ May 5, 2015 -> 10:02 AM) Thibs is crazy in his own way too, but its not like GarPax. What's so funny about the whole thing is Thibs could not care less that he gets all the credit for turning midgets and late picks into at-worst solid contributors and at best stars, but he's where all the credit goes. OTOH GarPax desperately want that praise but are an afterthought nationally. The 1 and only reason that Thibs has a tight locker room is that he has never sold a player out to the media. I've seen him use it as a motivational tactic on Snell a few times, but he'll never take credit for a players success, never throw a single player down for a failure or play. Noah mentioned as much when noah was benched in 2012 I think for swearing at Thibs. Thibs only mentioned coaching decision, never gave up any gossip. Noah was actually the one who volunteered he was out of line.
  17. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 5, 2015 -> 09:46 AM) I turned my fan on before I read it Wasn't that incredible? Man, I'd kind of stopped reading that stuff, didn't want to believe it. Also, I hate bernstein and Cowley. But that was some pretty damning stuff. GarPax are competent if not above average at putting together teams, but they are psychotic egomaniacs. edit: I apologize for not linking, trying to go through twitter feed.
  18. Did anyone read Woj's article?
  19. Wow lebron was 1 assist from quietest triple double of all time.
  20. Can't believe I'm watching hero turkoglu and prigioni exchanging threes in a playoff game.
  21. Most proud of rebounding. TT got a couple, but overall great boxouts.
  22. man. We just can't enjoy basketball anymore.
  23. Jimmy traveled pretty bad
  24. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ May 4, 2015 -> 08:15 PM) Lebron looks like s***. I think he knows they have no shot this year. Are you kidding me with this? Guaranteed he makes 4 straight and 1s now.
  25. When an out of control driving shumpert can get a call but derrick can never get anything I just can't take playoffs.
