  1. Pat Fitzgerald is really good on TV
  2. I'm not sure there can be reaches on day 3. 32 teams are ranking 250+ players. Imagine how much those lists start to diverge after 100. I'd prefer mike Davis, but it just sucks to look at this draft and now that last year is a complete wash save Fuller.
  3. if you want to cry look at our slugging percentage.
  4. I cannot believe Colon is still pitching and well. What an unreal career.
  5. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 2, 2015 -> 09:31 AM) The 2nd/3rd round picks look solid. Not many NTs in a 3-4 scheme are going to be considered "pass rushers", but that really isnt their job. Seriously. 2 down player is a reality for many NFL players. If they are great on those two downs that's a huge deal.
  6. I'm kind of glad to know they are dead last. I felt like they were but thought I was being dramatic. It seems like we've only scored in 6 total innings this year
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ May 1, 2015 -> 09:46 PM) Here's a wild idea...on a team that can't hit, put Beckham in the lineup. I believe he's 2nd on the team in WAR this year He's the only player I can stand to watch right now.
  8. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ May 1, 2015 -> 09:25 PM) Surprisingly no posts on the Hawks 3-0 lead after 1 against the Wild. 3 goals on 1st 7 shots. Saad , Kane, Kruger with the goals. It's not on tv for quite a few folks tonight
  9. I've enjoyed our whole pen. Our position players have been so disappointing. Their lines read like something a pessimistic troll would write in a predictions thread, but it's real life.
  10. The sox have really sucked the joy out of baseball.
  11. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 1, 2015 -> 06:39 PM) Eddie Goldman to Bears. Should be a nice space eater. Would have also been okay with the OT. Me too, was kind of hoping for Fisher.
  12. Agh, wish jets would have went WR round 1
  13. QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ May 1, 2015 -> 06:24 PM) I thought he might have had Raiders written all over him. New regime.
  14. DGB only really had 2 dominant games, but even in his great soph year, I'm not sure a bipartial watcher would say he was the best receiver on his team (not talking about draft prospects).
  15. I don't think anyone is saying Kevin White is can't miss, I think what people are saying is when 12 months of scouting has identified Kevin White as the top prospect for your organization, should you instead draft a lower ranked player at 7 for need/belief that no successful organization wastes first round picks on receivers despite evidence to the contrary.
  16. There was clearly so much interest in trading up last night, surprised more didn't take advantage!
  17. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ May 1, 2015 -> 09:40 AM) To be fair to Steve I believe the implication was "top 10" first round draft picks on WRs. The bears would have drafted Leonard williams if there, but just because your DE goes does not mean you still draft your next DE. We saw how that works out, his name was Michael Haynes. Get dynamic talent, the rest works itself out.
  18. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 30, 2015 -> 11:09 PM) Making the Super Bowl is not winning the Super Bowl. Great point man. You totally figured out the NFL!
  19. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 30, 2015 -> 10:57 PM) Calvin Johnson, AJ Green, Dez Bryant, Larry Fitzgerald - 0 super bowl titles. You have to build inside out. I hate the pick. But don't worry, guy will go for 1,400 and 10 TD regularly, and the Bears will miss the playoffs regularly, too. Look at the teams winning Super Bowls. They don't invest in WR in the draft. I think the highest picked WR to win a super bowl the last decade Is Hakeem Nicks at 29. Seattle traded a 1st round pick for Percy Harvin. The Ravens spent a 2nd on Torrey Smith and just spent a 1st on Breshod Perriman. The Broncos spent a first on Demarius Thomas. Colts drafted Reggie Wayne and Marvin Harrison in first round. The 49ers drafted Michael Crabtree in the first round. Super Bowl team the Cardinals had Larry Fitzgerald. So no, the Patriots do not spend 1st rounders on Wide Receivers, but plenty of other super bowl teams spent draft resources for wide receiver talent. This is just a stupid hot take that means nothing.
  20. the bears needed dynamic super star players. period. They didn't need starters. They need stars. They think White will be a star. That's good enough for me.
  21. I love how everyone believes in BPA until push comes to shove and they want to draft need. Glad Pace did what he believes in. Marshall was the Ozzie Guillen of bears. His time was done.
  22. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 30, 2015 -> 09:13 AM) really, the list of good QBs taken in the past 10 years isnt all that long. 1st through 7th round. Elite QBs are mostly older QBs like Brady and Manning It's much better than it used to be. But, yeah, if you are going to get a good QB it will be in the first.
  23. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 29, 2015 -> 05:58 PM) I know the odds are against it, but let's not forget that the 2014 winning/2015 losing Super Bowl QB was drafted in the 3rd round. There have been draft classes with interesting QBs that were not in round 1. This is not one of those drafts.
  24. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Apr 29, 2015 -> 05:45 PM) Gruden compared him to Tim Brown, which is a comparison I like a lot. Wayne/Brown...either way, I'm all about that. I just hope we truly go BPA. I'd be happy with mostly of the guys projected to go in our range, except Scherff. He was extremely unimpressive against Tennessee in the bowl game. Dude was getting beat bad by our freshman DE. I see why most people say he projects as an OG. Yeah, if this class was as good as last years with olineman, I would love an olineman at 7.
