QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 16, 2015 -> 02:06 PM) I think we just witnessed an NFL front office gastric bypass. Maybe a few years later it will go back to what it was, but it certainly isnt that way right now. Dick's comment was great, and this was perfect. I'm going to go write headline's for Buzzfeed now.

Reading Gravity's rainbow and doing much better the second time through. Stalled at 50 page last time. When I hit the really crazy chapters I "skim"

Okay, I feel better. Chris Mortenson and Schefter reporting the negotiations are finalizing. It really may have been as simple as Fox's agent was to busy to work on this at same time as Del Rio.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 15, 2015 -> 08:09 PM) Pace is reportedly in Denver with John Fox. Maybe they are meeting with Adam Gase to convince him to be the OC. I'd settle for him finalizing the contract.

QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jan 15, 2015 -> 11:22 AM) Will all come down to the combine for him. A QB should be there in the 2nd round for the Bear. Was just going to say this. I wouldn't spend a 2nd rounder on a guy with 2 games on tape.

Jax is obviously terrible, but Bradley deserves 5 years there with the roster they gave him.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jan 15, 2015 -> 11:26 AM) That was Mike McCaskey. His mom removed him shortly afterwards No, you are thinking of Dave McGinnis. Angelo was wrapping up hiring Nick Saban and Ted Phillips walked in with a contract half of what Saban thought. He walked away and stayed at LSU for a year before jumping to Miami. That led to Lovie, so not as bad as Jauron issue.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 15, 2015 -> 10:59 AM) You would think, both parties would have a pretty good idea entering the building what it was going to cost, especially after Garret got that extension. Remember Nick Saban

2014-2015 NBA thread
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 15, 2015 -> 10:28 AM) I think it is more that we have had so many moving parts that the team still doesn't know how to play with each other and that chemistry build is going to naturally take longer when the guy who runs your offense had pretty much missed the past two seasons so he himself has his own rust in terms of running and offense, etc. that he has to lose. I'd also say that the loss of Dunleavy / McDermott forcing us to have Snell and Moore log heavy minutes isn't exactly a major advantage. I like the fact that Snell seems to be aggressive but his shot has looked bad from the outside and he is not Dunleavy. Maybe, but the bulls in the past won these games with way less. The defense is a huge concern right now.

QUOTE (shipps @ Jan 15, 2015 -> 09:55 AM) I will believe it when its done. Things still smell really Bearsy right now and I am just waiting to see how they screw everything up. I'm with you. I understand ptatc' point of view, but I would be worried if the bears WANTED Fox and could not land him. If this is that they don't actually want him and are trying to save face with him, I'd be fine, but that doesn't seem Bears.

QUOTE (ptatc @ Jan 15, 2015 -> 09:29 AM) If they haven't talked to Quinn, it's not a black and white "they want Fox or not." He has some question marks just like any coaching candidate. He may be the front runner but that doesn't mean it's all or nothing. Maybe they've heard good things about Quinn and wouldn't be doing the proper due diligence if they don't talk to him. Getting more information is rarely a bad move. Accorsi/Bears Brass spoke to Quinn first week.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 15, 2015 -> 08:09 AM) Jimmy Butler stopped playing like the 5th best player in basketball briefly. It looks like Derrick might be ready to show up, but even at his best - this team is so much better with Butler at HIS best. We'll see. They were due for a tough stretch. That's all offensive stuff, though.

Bulls give up 60 points in a half like nothing now. Unreal the lack of effort on D. I thought they'd be getting better now, they are tailspinning.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 14, 2015 -> 05:12 PM) It would appear Fox is Chicago or bust right now and it would appear Bears are smarter than a lot of thought as their was significant back channeling that took place. That's all smoke right now, we have no idea. We have a media right now who just says "Bears could bring in Gase, now that he's not a HC" Is there reason to say that? No, but yes...they could!

QUOTE (shipps @ Jan 14, 2015 -> 04:57 PM) You would think more would leak out after the interview than what has so far. Which is nothing pretty much. It's apparent that there is a huge lack of institutional sources with George running show and a new GM.

QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Jan 14, 2015 -> 04:43 PM) Who knows, we're just playing theoretical matchups right now. Until they've proven they can't win when they are healthy, writing them off would be premature. Yeah totally. It's not even all star break. Last year we thought Portland was greatest team ever prior to then.

QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Jan 14, 2015 -> 04:22 PM) They are good, but they aren't shutting down the firepower of Cleveland for 7 games kind of good. We aren't talking about the Pacers of the past 2 years, the 2011 Bulls, or the great Celtics or Pistons D of the past decade here. Meh, but their offense is better than those teams.
