  1. He used to be good against stronger, bigger 2 guards, but now even they are faster than him. He's just old as hell. I hope he retires so we don't need to pay his ass next year.
  2. Yes, yes, if only our politics could get back to the good ole days of party loyalty based off of racisim and civil war legacy.
  3. I don't want to only have a negative post about last night. I was terrified that we would have all this s***, with a team meeting and refocus, etc, and get blown out again. Was so pleased they came out firing. The spurs certainly had an off night, but, I mean almost 0 teams have had an offnight vs the bulls all season. So the easy buckets weren't there.
  4. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 23, 2015 -> 08:44 AM) I really feel like they need to cut Kirk Hinrich. I've never been a Kirk fan, and certainly not the past few seasons, but I understood why he was kept around. Now, there's no reason. He's like our kendrick perkins now. Except infinitely more expendable.
  5. Amazes me how sharapova is never out of it.
  6. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jan 22, 2015 -> 07:08 PM) Remember when the Sox traded him to TB and we were all wondering if what we got back was dependent on how much he pitched for the Rays. Hasn't pitched since . Good times. If there's one knock on Hahn, he's had some terrible luck with his deadline tradebait.
  7. Ugh, just skipping through this crap and can't find it anywhere here: http://chicago.cbslocal.com/audio/the-spie...-mannelly-show/
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 21, 2015 -> 09:30 PM) Here's 2006 with a 77% positive score. The summer before that a city drowned. Wasn't Katrina 2005? So that was after.
  9. Unreal, what an incredible set of coaches. I have no doubt our talent will be maximized by year 3. So excited for this era to continue getting to work. The only thing I'm sad about is there is nothing left to talk about until April.
  10. Soaking in the good news before any Weis: Donatell is official (per chicagobears.com tweet). What a freaking coup to get Donatell/Fangio. I still can't believe it.
  11. Nikola has been having a terrible january. But, he also had a slump prior to going on fire in December. Rookies, man.
  12. That straight up disappoints me. I hate Weis. I don't care that he ever did well in the NFL. Perhaps his pouty mojo is perfect for Cutler thou.
  13. QUOTE (raBBit @ Jan 21, 2015 -> 04:22 PM) I am sick of the lazy analysis when it comes to Dunleavy. He's not an outstanding player by any stretch but he does things we need and has been a great role player. He spreads the floor very well and moves without the ball better than anyone on the team. I also think his defense is better than he gets credit for as he is towards the top of the league in contesting shots annualy. Unfortunately I am starting to agree on Hinrich (who is one of my all-time favorites) but I doubt Thibs will ever relent on his minutes. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!! Look at our offense at its worst, and it's guys receiving the ball and having zero clue what to do next. Even in Dunleavy's bad shooting games, he always makes a decision within 1 second of receiving the ball. Drive, pass, shoot. He knows immediately.
  14. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jan 21, 2015 -> 04:04 PM) Offensively, I think the big hit came from MJD going out. With our starting lineup he really spreads and spaces things out and moves extremely well without the ball and ultimately makes very crisp passes and decisions. With Snell in, we are talking serious downgrade from all aspects (even defensively). Plug that with Noah being out and Rose having some of his bad games and still not being comfortable yet as a "point" guard and you can see why we have had some of these hiccups. I do think Rose's point guard play will improve as the season goes on. Its going to take a while and he won't be back to really being a point guard until next year, imo, but he'll be a lot better by the end of the season than he is now. His play is so predictable right now...long jumper or a drive and a wild jump pass out or wild shot or a quick pick and roll out to Pau (which is actually a good play for us and is something we should do more with Mirotic who plays that stretch 4 role better). The only think I'll say is this: We would win games last year without Hinrich/Deng/Taj and rolling out DJ/Snell/Jimmy/Taj/Noah. That we can't win with combos of Pau Gasol/Taj/Niko/Butler/Derrick freaking Rose/Kirk Hinrich is incredible to me, especially defensively. That's why I'm so disappointed.
  15. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 21, 2015 -> 03:59 PM) I think it's safe to say that even if they get back to that level, it's not going to be a cake walk to the Finals. Atlanta is really, really good. And for some reason the Wizards have the Bull's #. Absolutely. Atlanta is quite clearly the best team in the East, and would absolutely be great in the west as well. Sigh. Do you remember some of those possessions in December where we'd whip around 5 passes to an open 3 pointer? If it's there it can always be recovered right?
  16. I get depressed even reading this thread. I was so high on this team when it turned 2015 and thought they were just getting started. OTOH, we may look back at this meaningless 3 week stretch before the all star break and laugh at how scared we were. At least I hope.
  17. Good point on bike tires, I'm just wondering what this actually felt like. I think some people think it would have felt 2lbs lighter.
  18. Doesn't Boehner already participate in that?
  19. Is "2 pounds of air" that noticeable? If I'm looking at a tire gauge, is this like seeing 38 register rather than 40?
  20. Sorry guys, that was a bit tongue in cheek. But at his age and how hot of a candidate he was, I think we are more likely to see Fangio gone next year than Gase. Unless of course the bears are a dumpster fire.
  21. I think the disappointment you are really feeling was that all of these moves happened by the first week in December and left us with too long of a void.
  22. He also bombed his HC interviews so he may be a few years away. I think Mangini/McDaniels ruined any chances for 36 year old coaches from hereon out.
  23. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jan 21, 2015 -> 12:00 PM) I watch every year, regardless of who is in the office. I feel like it is some sort of obligation, which is probably silly. It's the same every year pretty much, though this year did have a little looser feel than others. A little more hooting and hollering, a little more humor. I liked that aspect. But damn, the game of sit/stand/applaud left/right/both is just plain irritating. Stop it, we don't need to do that with every point the President makes. It's pomp and circumstance, and it's usually a series of goals most of which won't be met. But it does illustrate the priorities of the administration, which I think is worth watching. Obama struck, I thought, the right tone... but he's also a guy who has consistently talked a big compromise game without ever working to do that. Not that the GOP Congress has been any better of course, they just blockade everything he does because he's the one doing it. But, hard as this is to admit, I kind of miss the days of Clinton and Gingrich actually working together to do a few things. We haven't seen much of that lately. One other note - I hope the GOP is smart enough to see that they cannot continue to revolve their entire strategy around stopping Obama and the Dems when the economy has gotten so much stronger. It worked in November, but I'll be the farm it won't work in 2016 unless we dive into another recession by then. They need to have an affirmative theme at some point. Tradition is nice and stuff, but clearly with communication advances this is not in fact for Congress, and instead for ...citizenry/democratic tradition, whatever. If that's the case, I don't understand why they haven't tried to integrate some more media beside just a speech. I don't want a powerpoint with clipart, but why can't some context with infographics be added? Honestly a split screen with some quick facts while he/she's talking would be helpful. But alas, I would settle for "no applause til the end please", with some weird 15-second NPR jazz samples to break up the sections.
