  1. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 03:01 AM) Another summary of tonight's events: http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/201..._medium=twitter The last two paragraphs of that make a lot of sense.
  2. Aggrey Sam is a good reporter. No reason to hate on him.
  3. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 09:24 PM) Sox have won final vote a record 4 times. Seriously, sox fans are good at this. Which makes me believe success will be rewarded at the ticket booth.
  4. "But certainly it won't last past Monday" we'll tell ourselves on Sunday.
  5. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 09:42 PM) This would also assume that Melo and LeBron haven't been in contact at all. Well, according to woj, they haven't.
  6. You really think on an open market Kane wouldn't have pulled 10.5?
  7. I do, it's not like they are comparing sales vs. camp counselor. They are basketball players, their contracts are largely the same compared to other sports, and they in general know what a basketball team is.
  8. Man, this makes me long for the decision.
  9. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 08:45 PM) Article on the signing up on FutureSox, with gory math detailshttp://www.chicagonow.com/future-sox/2014/...on-for-6582000/. Well done. edit: what does the league do with the tax on the sox?
  10. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 08:36 PM) Chris Sheridan who said the announcement would be on the website last night actually thinks everyone else is being fed misinformation even though much of the information he has supposedly been given hasn't come true. hahaha
  11. You guys don't understand the pull of the University of Missouri. Nobody can turn it down.
  12. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 06:07 PM) he backed off that statement a day after he made it Our team is full of articulate players.
  13. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 05:59 PM) I don't know if there is any validity to this guys tweet, but if LeBron was announcing he was staying in Miami, I would think hanging out not far from Cleveland would be about the last place he would want to be tonight. I'm going to guess this is a bit of "telephone". My friend's dad works for Cleveland PD, said he heard from stadium police they were prepping for announcement of return. But then also said "they prep for basically every scenario" ... because it is summer and they have nothing else to do. They also have prepped for NBA finals victory.
  14. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 06:03 PM) I think Taj is 100% OK with being the 6th man. He dominates 2nd units and is almost always playing in the 4th anyway. He was told he'd be a starter this year.
  15. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 05:36 PM) They told him he would be a starter. Whoa whoa whoa whoa, so we decided to bring Taj in to sell Melo rather than trading him for max space, and then our response to Melo saying no is to sign a player to...push Taj to the bench? Nobody can convince me this isn't exhibit A of terrible front office management.
  16. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 05:29 PM) Nothing wrong with that though. I think that is likely the case. I think there are at least a few scenarios where it makes sense to keep Boozer and just use your exceptions. Then just look at moving Boozer closer to the deadline. Someone will be shedding cap for something and we should be able to buy some picks / assets with the deal. There is something wrong with that IMO if it is chasing a piece that is a more marginal improvement rather than an athletic wing/2nd ballhandler.
  17. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 05:25 PM) You were all over it. Mirotic is a great fit on this squad no matter what. I think the idea of having Pau here would be as a mentor / great back-up at the C position. I still question why we'd give Pau so much money and amnesty Boozer which is why I think the only way we get Pau is through a S&T which nets us a TPE. The key is the Bulls be willing to pay luxury tax / utilize that TPE. This team makes a lot of money and shouldn't be afraid of a We also are going to have a situation coming up with Butler soon. He's going to get 8-9M a year (if not more) and Bulls can obviously match but it will again push us closer to luxury tax. He will only be a true asset (due to contract) for so much longer. We, at this point, traded Deng for no reason (I assumed it would be to allow us to go into luxury this offseason). I don't particularly care about Jimmy anymore, I think his season last year was a major setback and would trade him for an asset like *snap*, but I'd gladly go into luxury tax if this team showed something next year.

The cynical side of me thinks the only reason we are pursuing Pau is to avoid amnestying Boozer.
  19. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 04:57 PM) Wasn't Rose at the Berto all week? That's what I mean. He's practicing at Berto with the rooks right now. No way he pops out to LA for a pitch without reggie spouting his mouth.
  20. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 04:53 PM) the part about Lala getting his girl a gift? I think your percentages are swayed by your lack of faith in the FO No, Rose in LA on the 8th.
  21. There is zero percent chance that Rose rumor is true.
