  1. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 15, 2014 -> 05:36 PM) The Wolves have s*** and they know it. They're going to have Andrew Wiggins soon enough and be in full-on rebuild mode. That's why you give them the picks to take Boozer while also taking the contract they're trying to toss into every Love deal in Kevin Martin. If they do trade Love, I'd much rather roll with Rubio-Martin-Wiggins-Pekovic-Dieng than Rubio-Lavine/Wiggins-Wiggins/Dunleavy - Boozer-Pekovic. They don't particularly seem to care about picks. They want to keep Love the way Portland kept Aldridge.
  2. The players association should be pushing for at least this to go to an independent arbiter. This is crazy there is no real process for this player right now. Also, flameon, but, does anyone think this would happen to a Boras client?
  3. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 15, 2014 -> 06:30 PM) I sure hope the Bulls are trying to solve their guard issues right now creatively. Boozer + Dunleavy + Kings Pick + unprotected 2015 1st + a whatever else is needed contract-wise to get Kevin Martin from the Timberwolves, whom no one wants. I don't care if he doesn't get to the line 8 times per game anymore, we could still use that 3 point threat on the roster. You have to make a move to make THIS TEAM better. Our window is at most 2 more years with Noah reaching 30 and Pau being old. Get creative for f***'s sake. Nobody is taking boozer, but also they then couldn't sign Pau, and the Wolves already have Love and Pekovic as offensive forwards who cannot guard. That would not really get Bulls anywhere. Also, I'm not really wanting to become the Knicks trading away our draft picks at every turn just to dump players.
  4. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 15, 2014 -> 05:14 PM) Talk about no floor spacing. Yes a few of those guys can make mid range j's but yeesh. The world would look a lot brighter if Jimmy could go back to being a 38% 3point player.
  5. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 15, 2014 -> 03:51 PM) On the flip side, if Aiken has had an independent physical done and there is something incredibly wrong with him, he'd be insane not to take the money at this point. This has to be the resolution to me. If Aiken has physical and shows limited damage I feel like there should be some sort of arbitration process.
  6. I think Snell is the interesting player regarding McDermott. Say McDermott is competent and not godawful and people want to see him play*****. He looks to be only behind MDJ on the depth at 3. But that assume Jimmy playing guard. If Snell is truly better at 3pt, ballhandling, and D, Thibs may try to take advantage of Jimmy at the 3 more often. If Snell sucks, we have horrible guard depth, for one, but for two, we still have likely game-finish lineups of rose-hinrich-butler-taj-noah (yuck). So McDermott will likely be a 2nd unit-second quarter player for quite a while unless he pushes himself out there. ******for J4L
  7. I just wish they were only used for injury reports. Their insight into what players are saying to eachother are always worthless "And Brady walked over to him and said 'Let's go get it', back to you John". I used to hate Siragusa, who seemed to only pop in to talk about sausages in the crowd, but recently I think he's been better. He adds some insight on what holes opened up, etc. They should try to implement more of those.
  8. QUOTE (scs787 @ Jul 15, 2014 -> 03:28 PM) He just goes to college if he doesn't sign. Which is pretty dumb IMO. I believe he has to wait 2 years and with how hard he throws it wouldn't surprise me one bit if he meets tommy john in those 2 years and doesn't end up getting close to what he could have got this year. Aiken doesn't throw THAT hard.
  9. can be deleted now.
  10. Totally agree, 3-4 home runs last night advanced? That said, I'm glad he got some rest and loved watching him interact with Cespedes. That has to be so amazing for those two to look around and see how far they've come.
  11. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 15, 2014 -> 02:15 PM) The team got a lot better after Deng left last season. It may be coincidental, but after he was traded they made their little run that got them into the middle seed. Everything else here is just looking for problems that arent there. Snell contributed a lot more than Butler did in his first season. And I dont see Mirotic as a regular rookie, i see him in the Asik mold. Thibs got Asik in his regular rotation rather quickly because Omer was used to the grind of a professional season. Thanks, my thoughts exactly. Mirotic is 23 and has played oversees for 5 years in the best league in Europe on one of the best teams in Europe. I think his transition will be much faster than usual, especially if these reports on his help defense and effort are true. And likely that Gasol as a backup for Noah over Nazr is going to be at least =. Nasr was just a body, but we'll all never forget how hilarious it was when he pushed lebron and he flew back 15 feet. I love you Nasr, that was awesome.
  12. Am I crazy? I don't see the forum breadcrumbs in chrome or on my phone anymore. Kind of annoying to navigate now.
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 15, 2014 -> 01:54 PM) I'd say "surprisingly healthy" for him, especially given the minutes he played. Can you at least get my point though...Noah turns 30 this season. He had his best season last year at age 28/29, right when people are supposed to have their best seasons. It shouldn't surprise us all that much if at the end of his career that does wind up being his best season, whether it's because of injury or just performance taking a step back. So if the question was asked "give a reason why the Bulls defense might take a step back this year" I'd have that at the top of my list. That could be offset, of course, if Mirotic and some of the other guys fit into the system well, which they darn well might given that we're replacing Boozer and making the team deeper. That wasn't the question though, a few pages back J4L said this year will be a tough D assignment even for Thibs, and I was asking why we should expect the D to fall off despite no personnel changes moving from good defensive player to poor defensive player. Yes, if all players get injured, productivity might fall off, but that's not particularly enlightening.
  14. Can I get a reason the Bulls D is expected to drop off again?
  15. Soxtalks love for OJ mayo is undying, even as he attempts to eat himself out of the league.
  16. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 14, 2014 -> 10:57 PM) I think you mean Jamal. Jordan Crawford is very available and can be had for fairly cheap. yeah I did that.
  17. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 14, 2014 -> 10:53 PM) ^ Am I only one who would totally love xavier henry?
  18. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 14, 2014 -> 10:55 PM) When the hell did he become fat? I'm pretty sure he tried to eat himself off of that awful team or became fat by osmosis in milwaukee.
  19. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 14, 2014 -> 10:54 PM) We should get Jordan Crawford so he can tell Melo that KG f***ed his wife. I would love Jordan Crawford but do not see a way to get him. He was pretty damn good for Clips.
  20. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 14, 2014 -> 10:53 PM) Bucks are $13 million under the cap. Any chance we can trade Boozer for OJ Mayo? Please google image search for OJ Mayo.
  21. So Bulls get draft rights to this guy back in the deal: http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Milova...ovic-187/stats/ That's right, a 29 year old big who averages .1 blocks per game. I wonder if euro leagues have cap tricks where they draft american players who quite clearly won't come over to save money. They also get the better of bulls 2nd round picks in 15 and 16.
  22. Was his family able to travel yet?
  23. Eh, what does she know. Her reporting during Carmelo was horrible LA crap just to provide ESPN with clicks.
  24. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 14, 2014 -> 10:11 PM) Not when you factor in the minimum salary for the other roster spot (e.g., we still would have had to have 2 players vs. 1, so Doug McD + minimum cap hold of like 500K > #16 and #19. I don't think that's right, someone said there is still 300k of savings there. So savings so small it barely matters.
  25. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 14, 2014 -> 10:10 PM) Wouldn't the cap hit on 2 1st round picks at 16 and 19 be more expensive than just McDermott's? Yes, but you could have used one of those on a euro player (as denver did) and stash them ala Mirotic. That "savings" was negated by taking back Randolph, whom we then had to use assets to unload his 1.9 million salary. Brutal brutal brutal.
