Man the bears schedule is a joke. The NFL just is run by the worst people.

The Finer Things In Life
QUOTE (G&T @ Apr 23, 2014 -> 12:12 PM) I just got back from Italy and was looking to make some. What was your recipe? Honestly pretty simple. Luckily have a nice cool spot in my house that stays consistent temp. I peeled 15 lemons and cut any excess pulp away. Put the peels in a 750 mL mason jar and filled it to the top with vodka (grain alcohol would be more traditional). We let it sit for 3 weeks, and mixed it with 2 cups of simple syrup. The simple syrup recipe is probably where tastes will differ. I think we did .75 cups of sugar to 1 cup water.

NBA Thread 2013-2014
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 23, 2014 -> 04:26 PM) I mean, we would be better off with a lottery pick, I'm not sure there's an argument to the contrary. But I'm not blaming that on Thibs, it's not in his nature to tank and everyone knew that. Frankly if we tanked that meant the talent on this roster was not good and 1 extra player wouldn't help. Now when we look at roster we're like "man one more player and we're stacked!"

NBA Thread 2013-2014
Really not pleased with Thibs overuse yesterday. Clear he ran DJ into the ground and he had no legs in last 2 minutes when we needed him most. But I have to say, John Wall really looks like a bball player out there. Much improved. Just shows how hard the jump is to NBA point guard compared to other positions.

2014-2015 NFL Football thread
QUOTE (dasox24 @ Apr 22, 2014 -> 09:52 PM) I can't decide whether I'm happy with him or not. What was he doing his 1st 2 years in the league? Why did he look so schlubby 3 months ago? I mean, I'm glad he's putting in some work now but damn, he should have been doing this years ago. In his defense, he probably felt he needed to put on more weight to stay on Dline, now that he is LB he probably felt more comfortable going down to 250.

I prefer Jim's as well. I know people were wondering where I stood on the matter.

NBA Thread 2013-2014
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 22, 2014 -> 05:06 PM) At this point? Win a title. I think it's also Pop's player health management which is revolutionary, his continued excellent development of players, and great offense and defense. Thibs did a great job with scrubs, but Popovich is clearly best coach in NBA. So he should win.

And that's a white sox winner!!
I was thinking about fandom last night as the game thread was ripping apart our offense. As mad as we were to not hit against sanchez, how much worse do you think Tiger fans were only scoring 1 run against the top 5 worst pitching in the league?

Jose Abreu general discussion
I've been sayin to anyone who'd listen, that man down there is the best ball player I've seen since Zeke Bonura.

NBA Thread 2013-2014
They tied it but having that be your last play when you have two great offensive threats shows how much of a hack Brooks is.

Jose Abreu general discussion
QUOTE (TaylorStSox @ Apr 21, 2014 -> 05:03 PM) He's having trouble identifying sliders and cutters tailing away. He's probably never seen many that are this good. It's actually kind of remarkable that he's doing this well. Agreed. I remember Coespedes first year. After about a month there was a thread here basically laughing that the A's got hosed. He turned it way on that summer, obviously. I kept that in mind, Alexei, Coespedes, etc, all seem to have shown how big the adjustment is but then made it rapidly. I figured Abreu would do the same and he has, but you can also see him learning day by day. It's exciting he is hitting the mistakes so hard, and continuing to get on base regardless of cold streaks.

2014 TV thread
I think the wildlings storyline hasn't really excited userbase as much. I think they got enough time last season when Jon was with them to show that they are not savages, no more than a family who splits children in two.

2014 NFL Draft Thread
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 18, 2014 -> 11:04 PM) Bears DT position is brutal right now. They have a major need at the position. I'm not saying they don't have a major need at safety either, but I am not going to get on them if they take a DT. It is such a huge need. I think I'd like an addition at DT but izzy Collins peaea and Ratliff with some Houston isn't brutal comparatively.

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Apr 18, 2014 -> 04:34 PM) That is a hard core draft dream if you are dreaming about what happens in the 2nd round. It was wild, I can tell you guys about the whole thing. Ha-Ha Clinton Dix went 9th. The rest was blurry but a LOT of people were screaming.

NCAA basketball 2014-15 thread
QUOTE (danman31 @ Apr 18, 2014 -> 04:51 AM) Except Iowa State sucks at football and has a better history of basketball. Either way, very happy to have Haith gone. Christmas came early. I thought we'd have to wait for him to inevitably fail to make the tournament next year before we would fire him. Now he's gone and we don't have to pay him. This is fantastic. Only can go up from here. The real shame is when Anderson left we had three players that would play in the NBA for the next coach to inherit. Haith left a relative wasteland for the next guy. This year seems like there are much more coaches I'd be happy with than when HCMA left. But, again, as you alluded to, this is a tough situation to come into, but it's a place where you could build a program.
