QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 29, 2013 -> 04:29 PM) Miami 4th? Do LeBron and Wade drive off of a cliff together? I think there will be a lot of resting this year in the regular season.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 28, 2013 -> 08:59 PM) Ya I actually think a 1 loss Bama team would jump OSU. That being said, I don't really see Bama losing this year until the championship if FSU or Oregon gets there as well. Honestly, no way. The only examples we have of this are non-bcs cons like TCU, Utah and Boise State. No way a major conference team that's undefeated gets jumped by a 1-loss team unless that 1 loss team lost in the first week adn then beat everyone by 100 pts after that. -

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Oct 28, 2013 -> 07:05 PM) I think the most interesting scenario is Ohio State and FSU or Oregon (but not both) go undefeated and the SEC teams all have at least one loss. Does an SEC team get the championship berth over OSU? No. I don't think Alabama or the SEC has the pull this year. There is no LSU of past, and say the world becomes perfect and Mizzou wins out and beats Alabama, no way they leap 2 undefeateds in major conferences. Add in the fact that it's probably everyones dream to see FSU v. Oregon. -

I wouldn't worry if I was Fla St. If they win out, people are so intrigued by Winston and wanting to see them play the big game, I'm guessing they'll get pushed in the polls. I would have a hard time believing this year will feature 3-4 undefeateds from major conferences. There's a long way to go. -

Add in Alabama @ Auburn. That will be a great game and by no means decided. -
Describing domestic abuse as a social nono is kinda underplaying it to say the least. What Marshall did was terrible, but he has put in a lot of work to his condition and never doing it again. That's why you hear about it less than say, Chris Browns past.

In our league a team started 3 bye players and an IR player. They still nearly won because they happened to have Calvin Johnson and the Bengals defense. It has continued a ridiculous trend for my friend's team, who coming out of the draft had the team everyone thought would take it (auction draft, got: AP, Ridley, AJ Green, B Marshall, Romo as qb and gates at TE). He wasn't deep but that's star power none of us matched. He's 0-7 and has played the weeks highest scorer 5 times. Had this person started all their positions he'd surely be 0-8.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 27, 2013 -> 10:21 PM) What? What he said is 100% true. Beckman is done at Illinois if he can't win a Big Ten game, and rightfully so. He is very likely gone regardless. I was remarking how terrible that recruiting is. -

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Oct 27, 2013 -> 06:57 PM) Beckman does not have 1 player recruit even ranked in top 300. The whole class is 2 star Ohio players with no other major college offers. He does not win a Big Ten game he is gone! Good lord. -

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Oct 27, 2013 -> 06:18 AM) Ya, we "win" this one No I get that your program is in bad shape. I'm more talking about how so many of mizzous defining losses have had such absurd things happen in them (fleakicker, five downs, edney, missing a 3 foot field goal after being up 17-0 at home in fourth) -

Sox hire Todd Steverson as their new hitting coach

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Oct 25, 2013 -> 05:16 PM) I generally agree that the preaching of patience at the major league with veterans will most likely not change them. However, this hire was made to have an impact on the minor league system to have a common philosophy taught and preached throughout the organization. That's why this is a big move in my opinion. Do hitting coaches often coordinate the instruction to the minor leagues? Or are you talking more about how this is a symbolic shift. -

Was hoping for Tom Emanski personally. -
QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 24, 2013 -> 07:53 PM) Because they don't want him to get hurt for an extended period of time again. Missing a top 3 PG in the league for a year and a half can't be a good thing for the league. I didn't say it was a bad thing. I thought he drove so fast and hard before refs just didn't know. Wade gets a lot of BS calls but he also has a move that makes it look like he gets contact. Rose didn't have that. Now they seem to be on top of the fact that he is getting crushed but he just ignores it.

QUOTE (scs787 @ Oct 24, 2013 -> 05:54 AM) His jump shot/range in the preseason has looked much improved, and as others have said he somehow looks more explosive.....But maybe that's just because it's been a year and a half since I've seen him and don't exactly remember the extent to his awesomeness. The reason we should be excited is it seems the NBA has no deemed Drose as a "Superstar we must protect". He's going to get the calls that other stars have been getting this year. He'll have way more free throws.

This comes across as a rather manic rant.

QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Oct 23, 2013 -> 07:18 PM) it doesn't matter how he makes it, as long as it is legal. He made it, not you or the Feds. he pays taxes as part of an implied social contract that we all pay our share of running the government. But when his share dwarfs everyone elses, it because punishment of his success. His point is the average person is not utilizing the services of the US Government to enforce IP Patent Law that allows Mr. Cuban to make his money.

Oh can we please PED the hell out of our defense? I know it's wrong but it's not fair we have to watch this crap. It would only make us league average.

I can't find 50 employees but 1-99 employees as of 2007 was about 40 million people, looks like 120 mill is total employee figure. Doesn't include 20 million self employed as stats unsure if those are significant livable income folks or just side jobs. So firms of less than 100 employees account for about 1/3 of employees as of 2007. Or at least i think that's what i'm reading: http://www.census.gov/econ/smallbus.html

In addition, I'm guessing Abreu will be a big theme of Spring training and will make the evening news sports segments covering that. Go you, common sox fan, go you.

QUOTE (zenryan @ Oct 22, 2013 -> 03:32 PM) Biggest winner today was Frank Haith. If what the NCAA says is true, he probably should never coach another game. Getting a 5 game suspension isn't even a slap on the wrist. If what the NCAA says is true is a hilarious statement. -
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 22, 2013 -> 04:31 AM) All the physical tools are there, apparently something is missing between the ears. Rick Ankiel syndrome or something.
