QUOTE (farmteam @ Dec 17, 2012 -> 03:00 AM) I thought in real time it looked bad because at least 2 of the PIs Jeffery had his arms out so it looked like he was pushing off, even if on replay you could see it was nothing. I thought the end zone call sucked thought because it was within five yards. Does anyone know if the five yard rule does not extend past goal line?
-
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 16, 2012 -> 11:02 PM) Something tells me Lovie will still find a way to get extended. Not with a new GM. Writing is on the wall.

QUOTE (Jake @ Dec 15, 2012 -> 09:54 PM) The field just lacks any truly scary teams This is what it will look like early in the season every year.

QUOTE (Jake @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 07:36 PM) I think there is much to be gained by forcing discourse on this stuff. Finding more out about the killers and exposing people to the violence is a catalyst for change. How many people will think about their troubled friend/child/co-worker and possibly help them because of this? Don't forget about that when you jump straight to the "others will replicate this crime!" conclusion because it is only part of it. That sounds very theoretical. We've had numerous sociologists and psychologists talk about the media triggers that cause copy-cats. The obsession with the killer is one of the main drivers. We blast the face everywhere like a celebrity. There is nothing special about this person. He is 20 years old, probably has schizophrenia. He snapped and got a gun and killed children. Let's stop being obssessed by this violence.

if we wanted to stop this s***, one of the things is to stop releasing names and pictures of the guy (always f***ing men) who did this, so other mental cases stop thinking this is a way to notoriety. Learn from your mistakes, America.
-
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 14, 2012 -> 06:41 PM) Wow, nothing other than mental illness can draw a line from that to shooting an entire classroom full of kids. Right, search for motive in this will not bare any fruit.

this is traumatizing 1000 miles away. I can't imagine how those involved move on. I hope they can find meaning in the rest of their lives, and those lives lost I hope they find peace in death.

So, apple ditches google maps for their own. Their own suck, but then google comes back with a much improved google maps for iOS? How is this a fail for apple?

Official 2012-2013 NCAA Football Thread

Was disappointed Chaney went with Bielema, but I'm open to promoting Andy Hill to OC. I do think this year was mostly done in by injuries, but a disaster due to some poor '10 class production. I think we'll be better. -
QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Dec 13, 2012 -> 06:04 PM) For once, I agree with Balta. Dwight and Melo were moved because their contract was about to expire. Love has no leverage for a few more years. It's not going to make things any easier for him if his play suffers and teams start questioning his attitude either (though I don't get the impression that he's the kinda douche where that would happen). Was Deron on an expiring contract? Or was it 1.5 years left?
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 12, 2012 -> 11:20 PM) Bernanke should have put this statement out 3.5 years ago. Yes, but better late than never.

The real truth to that article is Gene W. is such a f***ing troll.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Dec 12, 2012 -> 04:56 PM) Scored 104 points in My Player in NBA2k12 (and I am aware that it is not '13) haha, i'm still playing 2k12 as well.
-
I'll say this, the bulls of the past week HAVE been entertaining, and this is because of Bellinelli.
-
As a whole, Bernanke has done a pretty good job. It was frustrating since so much of his academia was committed to dealing with a crisis very much like the US (his writing on Japan), and then not following the course suggestions he set in his paper. That said, we are such better hands than so many companies. I'm only jealous of Israels central bank, Swedens and Australias. Good work Chicago Fed Chief Charlie Evans as well.
-
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Dec 12, 2012 -> 08:31 PM) The Fed announced that it's going to keep money loose until UE hits 6.5% and will tolerate inflation up to 2.5%. http://tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo.com/2012/12...icy.php?ref=fpa This is great news.

To be fair, norfolk st. was a tourney team last year. I know they lost a good player, but, no name in college basketball doesn't necessarily mean bad.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Dec 11, 2012 -> 06:24 AM) Jabari has a beautiful shot from outside. Jankovic is fascinating. A legit 6-11 guy with shooting and hops is so odd. Jankovic is incredibly inconsistent, but he's a high energy guy. None of our freshman play timid, Rosburg should, but even he isn't. I'm very excited to see Jankovic and Webster-Chan develop. All I know about Jabari is what he should have, I'm excited to see him play.

How or Why are you NOT a Republican OR a Democrat?

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Dec 10, 2012 -> 09:17 PM) Again I'm not saying that the Bears are better than under Martz, I'm saying that they're no worse and that wishing for Martz to come back is baffling to me. I think they would be better. The only thing I thought would get better under tice was sacks. It hasn't gotten better. And if it hasn't gotten better than I'd have preferred continuity.

Very impressed with U of I. As I said, terrified of the game vs. you. The very interesting thing about the Mizzou v. U of I game is the addition of Jabari brown. He will be added into the lineup 1 game prior to U of I. All fans are desperately hoping he proves to be the second ballhandler/outside shooter that we need. But the good news for U of I is our team is very tough defensively in the paint and 2 pt shots in general, but have shown to be horrendous on defensive rotations to defend the 3. Which is perfect for your team unless they are cold from behind the arc. Mizzou has a lot of sparks but only one consistent scorer thus far: Lawrence Bowers. I'm hoping for a consistent game from Flip and Bowers, and a big spark game from one of our freshman: Jankovoc or Webster-Chan.

I checked out It's a Wonderful Life at the Logan yesterday for a matinee. I thought I had seen that movie like 25 times, but it turns out I had never watched the first half. It's a lot funnier in the first half.

do we know the trends of white sox attendance vs. league at large?

QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Dec 7, 2012 -> 07:02 PM) How else am I to respond to what wite said? I'm not ignoring anything, I hear you guys. Yes, I agree the route that should be taken is from the bottom to the top of the food business. I'm asking for too much right off the bat. This is just a "dream location" and thats why I even brought it up, and I truly believe I can be successful at this spot. This house I'm living in now is already willed to me, it's paid off, my family has been in it since the 30's, so how sweet would it be to run the business 5 seconds away? Pretty flippin sweet. Definitely, if you are passionate about it and think you are weighing the cons with the pros, go for it. But please before you take any action, go take a part time job at a restaurant you admire.
