If the Sox get ... Then they will ...
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Mar 29, 2011 -> 12:56 AM) If the Sox sport a .600 winning percentage against AL central opponents they'll win the division. Much like mine but... If the sox go .500 against the twins, then they'll win the division.

Payroll Too Big
First, you need to get in the playoffs. I think this team is good enough to get there. It might not, as well. Baseball is tough and long.

Nike Hair-itage White Sox Tees
Definitely. Rollie Fingers one is my favorite. They could have chosen a better one for the sox, but no complaints. At least we have a shirt.

Nike Hair-itage White Sox Tees
Nike Hair-Itage Tshirts As spring training winds down and real news pops up, I thought i'd make a post that's debatable for the forum. Anyway I'm a big fan of these tshirts. Anyone else buy one? Google said it was Ozzie Guillen.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Mar 2, 2011 -> 05:31 PM) LOL, palm trees. Don't worry, the commenters on YT have plenty of excuses! Fox never claimed that it was video from Madison! Watching it again, the guy I thought was mounty was just someone wearing a red jacket and a wide-brim tan hat. the mounty look is in.

Patent Law Reform
Yes but it needs to slow down the bulls*** patent suits being used against web startups. Twitter just got sued because somebody patented "a medium for which celebrities can communicate with each other" and they granted it. Software patents have been given out like candy and it's hurt the startups who have incredibly vague patents used against them. Even if it gets thrown out it's a waste of resources.

Chicago Mayoral Race thread
QUOTE (Tex @ Feb 24, 2011 -> 12:22 PM) Did I read correctly that CMB said someday Chicago will elect its *first* woman mayor? Jane Byrne says hello. The onnly thing better is if she said someday Chicago would elect its first black mayor. Haha, she did indeed say that.

U.S. launches airstrikes on Libya
On BBC radio just now they reported that soldiers in tripoli told them that Qaddafi is holding their families in barracks as a way of forcing them to carry out their orders.

U.S. launches airstrikes on Libya
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 22, 2011 -> 10:02 PM) Distributing Bibles and heading towards the Suez. Really, any ship heading for the Suez is at a reasonable amount of risk. the yacht part kind of ruined it for me.

I really don't like blaming the victim...but really? What the hell are you doing there?

U.S. launches airstrikes on Libya
BBC has reports that Qaddafi has ordered the police to burn the dead bodies so they cannot be identified. We, of course, should support this however, because as Kap brings up, this might be lead to something worse. Than that. Like Iran having ships go through.

Isn't It Amazing How Easy It Is to Keep Rabid Fans Happy?
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Feb 21, 2011 -> 09:07 AM) There are actually 3 significant drop-offs, with Kansas City to Chicago being by far the smallest. The drop-off from Texas to New York is 59 points, the aforementioned "small" 27 point drop-off from KC to Chicago, and then a monstrosity of an 81 point drop-off from LAA to Seattle. I don't think these drop-offs are exactly coincidental in nature either. In the case of the first 4 teams, they all had mostly full-time DHs - Ortiz, Scott, Thome, and Guerrero. The next set - New York, Cleveland, and Kansas City - each had better players DHing, but lost some time for whatever reason, and also used it to give other players games off. The next 6 teams shuffled the DH position to give players days off and try to work matchups, and it would appear as though that concept simply does not work. And then the final group in Seattle just shows total offensive ineptitude. In summation, I think the Sox are very, very smart in going with a full-time DH. It will add to the overall effectiveness of the lineup and gives them an advantage over quite a few teams (and hopefully the Twins too...Thome has to fall off at some point, doesn't he?) Great post wite
