Opt-In Fire Protection
oh i thought you meant the $75.

Opt-In Fire Protection
that wouldn't work, nobody would opt-in. There'd have to be a penalty larger, but one still capable of being paid while also saving the property. Or you could just do opt-out. opt-out opt-out opt-out.

how about the fact that any tense moment was inevitably solved by flying the thing to space and throwing it.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Oct 5, 2010 -> 11:51 PM) When I drive to work I go past an "Ehrlich for Governor" sign with a big confederate flag under it. I know what they think that's supposed to mean when people see it but when I see it, it's just... not. Imagine a voice saying this in your head: "WE NEED TO TAKE BACK AMURRICA FROM DEM DAM LIBRUL SOSHAL-LISTS N DA TARISTS RUNNIN DIS COUNTRY SO WE CAN LIVE BY DA CONSTERTUSHIN AGAIN AND GET THE DAM GUBMINT IN OUR LIVES AN LOWER OW-UR TASSES TA KEEP DEM DAMN COLORED FOLK N MESSI-CANS FROM MOOCHIN OFF US HARD WORKIN' 'MERRICANS, AN GET DA GUBMINT OUTTA OW-UR LIVES!" I'm sure people object to this but that's just what I see. It just is. http://www.theatlantic.com/personal/archiv...ound-art/64109/

QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Oct 4, 2010 -> 09:28 PM) Sorry, I should have specified that it's just single women who are engaging in FORNICATION. Nuns are probably ok. exactly. Also, gays should be banned too. We are in 1978 again.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Sep 28, 2010 -> 11:58 PM) The Bears have probably faced the best QB they're going to face the rest of the year already (until January 2). Week 4: Eli Manning - decent but not on Rodgers's level plus the Giants are struggling Week 5: Jimmy Clausen - Rookie on a rebuilding team Week 6: Hasselbeck - meh Week 7: McNabb Week 8: bye (note: all of the previous 4 teams are beatable and it's not inconceivable that the Bears could be 7-0 going into the bye) this is the nfl, it never makes sense.

QUOTE (J.Reedfan8 @ Sep 28, 2010 -> 04:15 AM) Funny thing is.. they showed a few replays with Peppers and even Gruden and Jaws were saying you could call holding penalties on alot of plays from GB's O-Line (you could see them as a fan as well). Peppers is just a beast though. He had no sacks, but had a terrific game all around I thought. one of the plays on third down that turned into a big game, rogers scrambled to his right after evading bears lineman...largely helped by a ridiculously apparent block in the back on Peppers.

Official 2010-11 NFL Thread
the packers are a really great offense so it's expected they get yards. The defense played really well at containing them to 7-8 yard plays. But some of the penalties...I don't know. I have no qualms about penalties that resulted from julius peppers completely f***ing the heads of their olineman. But yeah, they were just absurd in the #, but it's not like any of them were not penalties. As for our offense, there were struggles but we also got about 25 less plays it seemed. I'm really pleased that we just beat two 3-4 defenses. Man this felt great. A MNF win against the packers? Jesus that's been rare in my lifetime.

QUOTE (Bighurt500Hrs @ Sep 25, 2010 -> 01:04 AM) Not being critical, but genuinely curious....how does it benefit an 8th grader to know who their senator or representative is? I know this is something we teach but why do we feel this is important knowledge at this age? If I was in 8th grade I would see no benefit to knowing this information outside of being able to pass a test. part of the job of a democracy is to prepare their citizens for their responsibility in the government.
