Greenwald has always clearly needed an editor to reel him back. But his heart is in the right place Just read Jesus' son by Denis Johnson. First half inspired, second half alright
  3. If you put it up for an amendment, I'll vote for it. That saying, that America has contributed two or three great things jazz baseball and democracy or whatever, forgot whiskey. Whiskey is better than scotch. Scotch looks down upon you. Scotch sucks out your wallet out of mere principle. Whiskey loves you. Whiskey will let you mix it if you want to. Whiskey will go in ice. Whiskey will go straight. And whiskey will love you. Whiskey is the dog. Scotch is the cat. Cat lovers are p*****s. USA USA USA.
  4. Mr. G, if you'll remember, pistol duels were the more humane versions of civility in the american legislature, a member WAS beat to death by a cane. In addition, accounts of the first state legislatures in places like California and Tennessee are hysterical. The constertution ain't say nothin about drinkin a bucket of whiskey and getting too rowdy to continaw
  5. 8 pm I think...so 12 am my time. F'n F I like the house filibuster, I hate the senate filibuster. House filibuster is the heart of mr. smith goes to washington, the senate filibuster is minority party claims "present". If the senate was like the house it would be threatened a whole lot less.
  6. they are essentially saying that even the filibuster is not good enough anymore, with their minority, so now no debate can be had. On the other hand, I do enjoy how our legislature is useful again. After 4 decades of doing nothing, I'm glad they remembered what the hell they were supposed to do.
  7. they are f***ing losing it. This isn't the 1850s anymore.
  8. Ehh, not even close to as turbulent as the bears. For 7 years it was ventura, then carousel, then for quite a few years it was Crede.
  9. the research has stated that only a very small percentage of those that received the credit would've not purchased the house w/o the credit. The rest were just going to buy a house anyways and got free credit.
  10. I'm guessing cknolls and alpha dog missed when Rahm called moveON and the blogs "f'n stupid" for going after blue dogs, in addition to when Hillary came out against moveOn during her campaign.
  11. so, um, I posted it and no one cared. The CBO estimate of the republican health care bill showed that it, uh, did nothing. Covered 3 mill people. Doesn't require coverage for pre existing conditions. BUt totally gets those trial lawyers.
  12. the credit to homeowners appears to have been a disaster.
  13. QUOTE (G&T @ Nov 6, 2009 -> 12:46 AM) So your dream scenario involves filling an emergency catcher position? ? He wants to be able to play both AJ and TF on the same day. He's saying with CJ up we still would have a backup catcher in case AJ/TF whoever is at catcher, gets hurt.
  14. How awful. Jesus, and I'm thankful my friend is now in Iraq instead of ft. hood. God I feel awful for all the families. Bless those soldiers, RIP.
  15. still winning the "teams with hottest wives" division race.
  16. well i have no idea then. I really don't want Teahan to be our RFer. I want some dude that hits like 73 dingers and 600 rbi and s***.
  17. I don't know. I don't get it either. My guess is the republican party is legitimately worried about a minority, but sizable faction of formerly reliable republican voters consistently going for a Hoffman-like candidate. And if 13% of their voters are consistently going that way, they obviously will have a hard time. But, I don't care. If they think Sarah Palin is a legitimate tool for good instead of just a legitimate tool, then I'll just laugh and take the victory.
  18. Libraries, one of those incredibly socialist policies championed by socialists like comrade Ben Franklin.
  19. NY23, etc. He's going to run, run run run run to the right to survive his primary, then run hard back center if he wins. It'll be questionable whether people'll forget.
  20. I'm scared how much leverage the Republicans will have with the CBO report about their health care plan. I think this will make the dem plan dead in the water. http://tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo.com/2009/11...most-nobody.php
  21. I'd agree if they'd won 9 W.S. in a row, but as it stands, eh.
