  1. QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Nov 18, 2008 -> 01:53 AM) Silverio until proven otherwise should be considered a 20+ year old scrub who was talked up by Wilder & Friends and given a fat contract so our former con-artists could buy new sportscars. Jose Martinez is still legit I'm sure. It's hard to lie about a guy whose father once played in the Major Leagues. People would know. Hopefully Jose rebounds and shoots back up the prospect lists. Silveiro is 20+? I thought he was 17?
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 17, 2008 -> 09:39 PM) What are Arizona's rules regarding replacing a Senator who leaves for another job/special election? That seat could well be the difference between 59 and 60. requires to pick a senator of the same party.
  3. women live longer.
  4. This was just awesome, thanks kyyle. My favorite part is when he keeps asking for the picture back despite emailing it to her.
  5. For the record, I don't think that SOS position is an actual leak, and is false. Secondly, I don't think Hillary should leave the hill. no pun. Thirdly, this is probably false.
  6. QUOTE (YASNY @ Nov 14, 2008 -> 08:18 PM) Why is it when we are talking about potential trade value of our players they are always worthless, until we actually do trade one of them and we never get enough for them? hehe
  7. wiki Jhonny J. Núñez (born November 26, 1985, in the Dominican Republic) is a North American professional baseball player. He is a right-handed pitching prospect in the New York Yankees organization. Núñez signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2006. He pitched in the rookie-level Gulf Coast League for the GCL Dodgers, where he accrued a win-loss record of 6-0 and an ERA of 1.58 in 7 starts and 3 relief appearances; he struck out 56 batters in 57 innings. The Los Angeles organization recognized Núñez as their top minor league pitcher for the month of July. On August 31, 2006, he was acquired by the Washington Nationals for veteran utilityman Marlon Anderson. In 2007, Núñez pitched for the Hagerstown Suns of the low A-level South Atlantic League. He logged 105⅔ innings in 22 starts and one relief appearance, winning 4, losing 6, and recording a 4.05 ERA. in 2008, Núñez pitched for the high-A Potomac Nationals and AA Harrisburg Senators, converting to relief. On July 31, 2008, Núñez was traded to the New York Yankees for infielder Alberto Gonzalez. He has joined the Yankees AA affiliate, the Trenton Thunder. Núñez is a fastball/slider pitcher with a 94-mph sinker. He has a three-quarters arm slot and can throw a changeup, but it's apparently a secondary pitch.[1] During the offseason, Núñez lives in San Jose de las Matas, Dominican Republic. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jhonny_Núñez

  14. I just find it strange that the last two elections, the democratic candidates always seem to be the most liberal in the senate. Odd. Maybe the people doing these calculations are a little off, no?
  15. Man I wish Bloomberg would've given me that internship.
  16. I have a feeling it was the bank lobbys.
  17. I thought the door was placed there specifically to allow this to get done because they didn't think buying stupid stuff would work in addition to not knowing what to price it as. I am glad they are doing this, it was the best idea if we were to do a bailout.
  18. I'll just say I don't think President's get too much blame. Stuff like what Max said at one point would've applied, but not anymore. The President isn't just the figurehead executive to the powerful Congress. They make the agendas, they make so many executive orders, the cabinet is huge and powerful, they are in complete control of foreign policy save a few areas that Congress seems to waive their right to now anyways. Congress can block, sure, and I'm not saying they are rendered useless. But the modern presidency is very powerful, and they can and should be blamed for a lot of things. Do I think this economic collapse was all Bush's fault? No. Do I think if Bush or Clinton had shown some foresight to act prior to collapse things could be different? Yes. Congress in the late 90s had a bill to make CDS on a regulated market, and it was shot down. Something else could've popped up troublesome, but at least derivatives people could've made sane decisions knowing who was all connected to them.

  21. Well then do you know what I want? A question hour. Virtually every parliamentary system has an hour ONCE A WEEK where the prime minister or leader comes to the legislature and answers any and all questions. It has different variations of names, but most have one. On the other hand, we used to have something like this IMO, when I think Kennedy became president, but maybe it was Ike, they had weekly press conferences. Now that is being replaced with the spokesman, and the president has Q&As less and less, and there's been a lot of manipulation. I think Obama should have a weekly press conference or a question hour.
  22. abolish all token vocab words that made it look like we were doing something. Goodbye color coded terror alert system
  23. Wow, I thought my sentence would have more response.
  24. FYI, if you want a comprehensive look at who is getting this money and when, I suggest ProPublica, a great investigative journalism non-profit site that has been doing an awesome job. http://propublica.org
