  1. we are getting some 4 star TE i'm looking forward to seeing replace Rucker. Tough shoes to fill, but now Coffman gets #1 duties. Now, RB is what I'm anxious to see turn out.
  2. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jan 2, 2008 -> 09:10 PM) They are just throwing speedy cf names out there at this point, because they know that's what ozzie likes, there is no validity to this rumor. man how correct was this.
  3. well, one thing is for certain, SHE is dead.
  4. I've said it before, but swisher is not a feast or famine hitter, the complete power lineups that were inconsistent were hitters like crede or uribe, where if they weren't hitting HRs they were out, while Swish gets on base at .380. There is a difference, and it makes the offense much more consistent.
  5. QUOTE(Vance Law @ Jan 4, 2008 -> 05:21 PM) I think there's something where actually he can't talk about Ramirez because the deal isn't finalized. Ramirez is still going through the red tape to be able to get into the U.S. in order to take a physical. I would say that at the moment (before any games are played, nor spring training) he is not expected to be a starter, but come off the bench at ss 2b and potentially cf. Depending on how he does during the year- best case scenario he's awesome, potentially could be our starting ss next year. See how it goes. If not, he stays as a super-sub. He's only making $1 million a year. thanks.
  6. but i mean he's also pitchin in comerica.
  7. yeah, i agree, i would've loved to get sometype of hirsch for garland that was ready to step right in. Oh well. Maybe Egbert is buerhle though, and is crazy good like buerhle in 01.
  8. what about chad durbin thou /green.
  9. hahahahaha
  10. drive crede to the airport to a team willing to take on his position/salary.
  11. So, since this has become a general sox thread now... I really want to know whether ramirez is thought to be a future starter for us, and if so if that is taking over SS or in the OF? I wish KW would talk about him, so those of you going to the fan convention, ask away.
  12. honestly none of us have any idea what's going to happen, yesterday proved that. I'm all goin nuts thinking we are awful, now we have an OF i love for 5 years and I'm happy. So crede could be gone in 10 min. for all we know, or fields could be going for a pitcher, who knows.
  13. I honestly don't believe that will end up happening. Nonetheless, especially since bureau has come on this site and taught me a lot, I find it funny that fans can be so up in arms about prospects when they are dealt. If bureau taught me anything, it's that I know absolutely nothing about prospects. I would like to steal his computer.
  14. i like bonderman, they pushed the kid up when he was very young and he had growing pains. Last year he was up and down, but I think he IS closer to the 06 bonderman than the 07.
  15. QUOTE(danman31 @ Jan 4, 2008 -> 10:16 AM) Yeah, agreed on McCoy sucking. Along with Charles they lose their top WR this year to go with Limas Sweed who got hurt midway through the year. They lose all 3 of their 1st team All Big 12 guys (Charles, DB Marcus Griffin, and an OL). Their 2 2nd team Big 12 guys, both DL including Frank Okam, are gone. They lose a few more key contributors. 3 of their starting secondary. It would be completely foolish to say they are going to be bad next year because they are Texas, they have the talent to replace these guys. However, with the focus of their offense this season gone, noticeable losses elsewhere, and Colt McCoy still starting at QB they can definitely struggle by their standards in what should be a strong year for the Big 12. it's hard for me to worry about texas tech when we play so well against that offense. I mean damn, if we can find someone to replace garret (who straight up sucks), I feel our D will be just as good, if not better next year. Especially with the way Ziggy Hood played, spoon getting better, and willy mo being a straight up beast. offensively, what do you think the chances are T. Temples appeal goes through? no chance in hell?
  16. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jan 4, 2008 -> 05:50 AM) If Fields doesnt hit 30 hr, ill eat my hat. seriously, he only hits 2 more HR in a full season? That'd throw me off.
  17. well, after the way MSU played BC, i think vatech's shining win didn't look as great. Plus the first game i saw VT play eastern carolina was handling them in the first half...so i've seen vatech play 4 times, 1 blowout loss, one win against bc, one loss against bc (who nearly lost to MSU), and one close game against eastern carolina. So no, i didn't think KU would get blown out, I thought they were good, I was glad we beat them and I thought it was as good a victory as any this year. KU did a much better job of getting their run game going, and I think that's when Reesing is his best. OF course, that's probably true for all QBs. As for VaTech, good D, not much of an offense. So, their D was facing an O that doesn't make mistakes, a team that doesn't make mistakes, and so takeaways were slim, and KU's d showed up big.
  18. QUOTE(Vance Law @ Jan 4, 2008 -> 06:14 AM) You like them because it is not our team. Contreras, Danks, and Floyd are finished/not good enough yet respectively because, emotionally invested, you watched them do poorly last year. Bonderman, however, is great. He's Bonderman, that guy who everyone's talked about for a few years and he's gonna be great, so he's very good. Never mind that he was bad last year and in 5 full years as a starter he's had exactly 1 year that was at least league average. He's good, he's to be feared, he's Bonderman. Oh, and Willis, too. He almost won a Cy Young. Last year didn't happen. And Kenny Rogers is fine he's great. He started 11 games last year. Contreras, that guy is old, he's done. He's 48, really. Sure he was pretty awesome when he was like 46, but he's 48 now. Rogers is only 43. what the hell is this about?
  19. i don't know betting lines.
  20. was KU favored? congrats jimbo's
  21. i don't know about that, I really like Det's rotation, at least 1-2-3, it is their bullpen that I don't think much of.
  22. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jan 4, 2008 -> 04:41 AM) Westbrook isn't that good...but dude...Yes, Verlander is that good. amen.
  23. i wish bureau gives us a visit soon.
