  1. being at u of missouri, i think this one kid said he wanted some of these players...its a terrible situation down there...i really thought they were ognna have a great rotation when runelvys hernandez or whatever and miguel acensio were pitchin so great in 03...shame it didn't work out...not for us but for them, how terrible would it feel to absolutely KNOW you won't do s*** and its not just because you are rebuilding, its because you will NEVER be winning
  2. QUOTE(YASNY @ Dec 16, 2005 -> 05:55 PM) What if Tejada said that he wanted to stay if this and if that. Then you could say Tejada said he wanted to stay. sure yes, tea and cake, i realize this is all fun off season speculation, but i don't think that the orioles would WANT to trade the best SS in the game right now unless he threatens not to play, and from the sounds of it, he was just saying he wants to win. Now i realize they need pitching, but they also need marketing and such and such and angelos is a bottom line type o fella and with the nationals looking better and better, he might be worried about losing some of the marketability, scumbag he is. So all i'm saying, is compared to other trades, this really seems crackpot to me at the time. Although i was a part of chaveztalk.com
  3. QUOTE(YASNY @ Dec 16, 2005 -> 05:44 PM) Point taken. Now then, if you had just signed a multiyear contract with the O's, would you want to see Tejada traded? haha, no no, but still, i don't think he'd lie and say "when he talked to me he said he wanted to stay" when tejada could easily dispute that
  4. QUOTE(YASNY @ Dec 16, 2005 -> 05:20 PM) Who's going to pay Hernandez's salary? i think theres a bit of a difference between the O's (whom i'd consider to be someone from the front office) and the players.
  5. QUOTE(YASNY @ Dec 16, 2005 -> 05:18 PM) I think the O's are spinning things that way to get more for him. I think he wants out and will be traded before opening day. but it wasn't the O's it was Ramon Hernandez who said he didn't want to be traded
  6. yeah, averaging 107 rbis a year sucks! i think we should stop wasting time on this pipe dream, he doesn't even want to be traded
  7. QUOTE(retro1983hat @ Dec 16, 2005 -> 03:02 PM) My god, you guys are rough. I agree North can be unlistenable at times, but I do have to say, he is the ONLY person on Chicago radio that will ask the questions people want to have asked. Example: Last year he basically b****-slapped Scott Skiles back into the Bulls coaching job. He would ask the Sox tough questions throughout the year. Something Farmer and Rooney would not. Ed Farmer is such as kiss-ass, I think it would be refreshing for someone to say get pissed about Paulie grounding into anothe double play. Personally, I sometimes have to turn North off because he can be so damn annoying. But, he is the main reason the Score became a success. Bloated and annoying as he is, he was the voice of the fan. It's something that guys like Chet Coppeck, Bruce Levine, and Les Grobstein couldn't understand. When the Score came on the air, people were sick of these sports "nerds" and wanted someone that sounded like they did talking about sports at the bar. Just my opinion. voice of the fan? Perhaps the uneducated, hot headed, unlistenable ranting fan, who are mostly the dolts who call his show, but not the type of fans you see here. the tough questions? Like, if god came down to you tonight, and said i'll give you three victories, but you have to shave your head, what would you do? you're right, he's a regular tim russert up there... Did you see a rush game? He was the worst announcer i've ever heard, just like his show, he ends up talking about some restaurant for an hour while i'm trying to watch the game

    My rant

QUOTE(LauraJ14 @ Dec 16, 2005 -> 02:39 PM) You guys sound like your are playing Fantasy baseball, these numbers don't look good so I can easily replace them with another player. Some of us fans want to see Rowand play the outfield every day and Garland pitch every 5 days and don't really want to see them playing on another team. I hope Brian Anderson can be a productive major league hitter next year. The only move that I will be majorly pissed off at Kenny for is if he trades Jon Garland away. I have waited for Garland to develop into the pitcher he was lthis year and I really want to see him duplicate that in 2006 in a White Sox uniform. no, we are just being realistic and we want to keep winning, not end up in decades of turmoil after our shining season...we have a chance to become a dynasty with this pitching staff...what's exciting is going into this offseason, our offense COULD ONLY improve, now even our pitching did. How upset were you at how different the team looked last year, or how there is no gong when shingo comes out? I'm sure you were crying all the way to the WS victoy...just like you'll (no jinx) be doing this year
  9. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Dec 16, 2005 -> 07:23 AM) I get a kick out of those who act like Jose was sleepwalking the first half. Jose had a damn good first half, IMO. He was excellent in April, May and the first part of June. He hit a little slump at the end of June and into July that saw his era jump up some. But he was very good most of the year. absolutely, i remember something like we only scored more than three runs for him like 2 in 2 months worth of starts, and one of those times was shingos breakdown against the tribe where he left with a 5-2 lead. (the night i went to the decemberists concert )
  10. QUOTE(MurcieOne @ Dec 15, 2005 -> 12:39 PM) Dog Dung > Mike North for some reason i had some dyslexia and read it as Doug Dong > Mike North and...well you could see why i was curious as to who this doug dong character is
  11. QUOTE(gsoxs1 @ Dec 15, 2005 -> 09:00 PM) I remember reading Phil Rogers stating Benji Gil and Ray Durham were going to be the BEST double play combo ever! Here is a name Jose Paniagua! we were up some absurd amt. against the twins and they almost came back against paniagua and gained momentum against us...he also flicked some guy off, we picked him up off waivers
  12. my uncle jim hates bill veeck. (great uncle, actually), everytime we play golf with him he talks aobut this trade he made for a wash senators first baseman that was god awful... anyhoo congrats jerry, i used tow ant you to sell, but now i don't. Isn't that a great compliment!?!?
  13. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Dec 15, 2005 -> 08:52 PM) I know..look at the next post. everyones lack of green killed me... well played rock, well played!
  14. do you guys think garland will have more trade value now or in midseason? i think we should trade him now because if he reverts back to his old form this season, it will be a serious blow to his value, but then i have to think (terrible analogy as this is) there was a september where jon rauch was pitching filthy, and then we know he sucks. would that be too much pressure on mcarthy? No, not in myopinion i think if he has his changeup he's amazing. So... anyways, your opinion?
  15. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Dec 15, 2005 -> 08:43 PM) For what? i think he was poking fun at all the sign brian giles threads VAfan had
  16. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Dec 15, 2005 -> 07:06 PM) Like maggs and CLEE???? Where are we now? i did miss CLEE, he was always pretty nice to the fans when i had left field bleachers... i'm not sure what your point was, i just said it was a great trade but i hate to players i like watching go. f***, i mean, i've spent so long waiting for garland to mature, now he does and he's gone. I was crede's # 1 fan comin outta the minors and stuck by him until he kept popping up to 3rd...then he stole me back in the playoffs. We should make this trade, but i'm not gonna apologize for feeling sad i won't get to watch these two players in sox uni's a little longer
  17. stop yelling! my ears are bleeding... i love this deal but i hate to see so many players i like leave
  18. i'm still not sure about this trade, i only say that because our bullpen seems so thin at this point
  19. god dammit... all i wanted was to see how chris young did...trade anyone else, i wanted to see chris young

  22. QUOTE(Soxy @ Dec 12, 2005 -> 03:35 AM) I'm not saying Iran is Captain Goody-Two-Shoes, I'm just saying that Israel has a lot of blood on its hands too. I'm not sure why so many people make it some black and white Israel = Good; Rest of Mideast = Bad. The whole bunch of them are bullies, imho. it's been that way for a looong time thou... yeah this is very very scary to me. I'd hope the world intervenes at this point.

    Ipod Help

QUOTE(iWiN4PreP @ Dec 12, 2005 -> 03:39 AM) thx guys. if you want my two cents, you could save a lot of money by not buying an ipod mp3 player. I mean creative machines and others have created mp3 players that are better and cheaper...they just lack that appeal and interface of apples...just a thought.

    Ipod Help

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Dec 12, 2005 -> 01:13 AM) Maybe its just my ipod's software, but if I look at the folder, all I see are contacts, notes and one other file. Nowhere on there are the song files. Also I just read that link from tmar and it looks as if Apple has done everything they can to prevent you from being able to take songs from your Ipod and put them onto your desktop (stupid if you ask me, cause they are your songs). Its obviously something the RIAA is pushing, but why can't I do what I want with songs I own. I should have the right to be able to put them on my laptop (so I can listen to them through it while at school). http://www.download.com/3120-20_4-0.html?q...0&search=+Go%21 do you use an apple computer? cause thats what comes up when i have my ipod plugged in. Get ipodrip and you'll have like 10 trial uses...
