  1. Seriously, I walked away despondent because unlike, say, Atlanta we didn't find our Max Fried. I thought Giolito was it but he shit the bed. Giolito is great. But yeah, the red sox did it somehow but it's extremely difficult to win playoff games with 4 bad starters. I can easily see doing nothing on offense and ending up with a good offense. I can even see sacrificing some of it for some better defensive play. But we either need a known playoff star like Scherzer to join, or at least consider bringing in some MUCH different looks, a guy that can come in and throw a bunch of curves for strikes. I was hoping Rodon would throw 65+ sliders yesterday and just turn "Rodoning" into a verb. I hate sinker slider combos, but maybe we go to alex wood or some left handed pitcher too. Need to break up something pitching wise. Also get me Joe Kelly.
  2. You could, and I wouldn't blame them. But now you at least have the option of sending Kimbrel + $4 million for a better package, or Kimbrel for a weak package, or Kimbrel + $8 million for a much better package. There were a number of aspiring playoff teams in the bottom 10 of bullpen including phillies, reds, mariners, blue jays.
  3. You can either complain about the salary, or you can complain about the return.
  4. I would lean this way if I was the Sox and it’s possible a guy (like semien last year) of this class is disappointed in his FA interest and is available for a 1 year deal.
  5. I know Burger struck out a lot this year but I think there’s a good chance he is not the 25%k player he showed. Eloy was not good this year, but it’s foolish to declare this year as Eloy moving forward. It needs to diversify, but I’m more concerned with the pitching. Offense could have score more, sure. But this is two years in a row, with different guys, where multiple guys each game just cannot throw strikes. Not one starter proved themselves. Meanwhile Gavin sheets was out there smoking the ball.
  6. Not sure what to think.
  7. Clearly what happened is someone with good information let bettors know the astros had cracked the cheating code and had an advantage today, or whatever other explanation that gets that extremely trash fanbase to feel slighted.
  8. I'm gonna throw this out there: Maybe Rodon's bullpen was good on last wednesday, but given how that shoulder has been unpredictable they decided to go with Cease who had been pitching very well this year, and had a pretty dynamic start his last time vs. the astros that they didn't pull him soon enough. But by time they made the decision on Cease, Carlos' shoulder has continued to feel very good to Carlos, so they are more optimistic than they were last saturday that he could give them starters innings.
  9. Heading to game at 11:15 today, really hoping I don't miss first pitch. Feel like everyone will be more crunched than last time
  10. my understanding is that because the Rays lost this is proof the AL East is trash and they are a bad team just want to make sure I understand good playoff analysis.
  11. No they weren’t, they came out of discovery from a workplace misconduct suit against the WFT. They were going through 650k emails in just the last few months.
  12. According to PFT, the nfl was leaking them and we’re going to keep doing it until he was fired
  13. Yeah in summer half the outfield you can see on the concourse. Mid inning we kept mentioning how crazy it was that it was Empty on the OF concourse. Was nice finally having all the vendors open, too.
  14. I unno, I think in the playoffs you pitch your best pitcher ready to go and thats McCullers. Gonna be fun to beat em.
  15. That was a very good win. Most impressed by our Dline's performance without Hicks. It isn't amazing, because the reason is obvious, but seriously it is so drastic how functional our run game looks when Lazer has called plays vs. Nagy.
  16. Overall, much, much better experience at least parking. It sped things up so much more. But yeah we were very surprised that two lots were full. I would be surprised if it's as bad tomorrow, easier to tailgate on a sunday then 10 am on a tuesday.
  17. I've had to do a lot of shifting around, thankfully I can. However, I'm still glad. It would have been pretty brutal to have some 7 hour game with multiple hour rain delays.
  18. I was at the game vs. cleveland right after the kimbrel deal. Tepera absolutely wet the bed and was booed. Great intro...and yet since then he's been nails and so much more unflappable then anyone else.
  19. Yeah like...last night I brought my brothers. They can't make it...so I'm bringing my kids. I'm excited because they are so pumped but you are losing a lot of rowdy
  20. Since we have a day to just sit and enjoy... my God. Nothing could ever compare the stakes of Paulie's Grand Slam. But as someone who was out of town, I've wanted to live in that moment in that stadium ever since and feel that energy. This had to be close. After the Tucker homer, misery had set in in our otherwise insane section of the RF UD Corners. There was this one kid, maybe 10-12 wearing a moncada jersey who never stopped. Always gettin up for every batter, cheering them on, and when Yaz hit that homer it sucked everyone back in. By the time the reliever is coming in for Leury it just seemed inevitable that it was going to be a moment. When it hit 3-1 I was just screaming "turn on it Leury, turn on it" and it was such a no doubter. The next minute was just frenzy, I lost my hat, lost my balance. Leury Legend
