  1. Important to note Moncada is also likely not going to become one of the great defensive 3bs at this point.
  2. I uh, will be wrong. But I kinda imagine him like Beltre. Early in his career this impossibly talented kid with some boom years but also average years, and then fully putting it together and just being consistently great for a long long time. Maybe injuries won't let him, but his approach and offensive game seem like it's such a high base that can go way higher, but it just comes down to consistency there. His 2019 was way less special than Beltre's amazing 25 y.o. season, but Beltre was one of those guy sit felt like people were disappointed by for a while given the package but then when he figured it all out could not be stopped even by age. But more likely he'll be a completely different player.
  3. It's like mid at bat you see him just go "Ohhh I get it" and either stops chasing and walks because the pitcher doesn't want to throw him anything in the zone, or gets something in the zone and puts great contact consistently. So gratifying to see that little incredibly ripped 20 year old boy whose shirtless pics I consumed for years on Instagram is now a fully grown baseball star.
  4. Would love to find the Spring Training posts about how Robert forgot how to play baseball when he had a bunch of 3 pitch outs.
  5. It has really, really hit me that I have never been to a sox playoff game. Lost decades are brutal. I am a damn mid thirties man with three kids who helps mod a white sox message board...and I live in Chicago.
  6. Well, if sox win some games, high likelihood I can't go to all these, and I'm sure others will be in same boat. Keep your ears open.
  7. It will pay off if we make the world series.
  8. Man you guys getting good seats makes me question my 20 game package haha
  9. FYI if you go to the mlb app and go to Standings > Postseason there is a schedule there.
  10. I know this team has big things coming, and for me the day I'll look back on this rebuild when thinks went from descent to ascent, it was watching the first box scores of the MILB season and Robert hitting 3 home runs in Winston Salem after a worrying first two years of injured false starts. Suddenly we had another superstar and everything looked so much brighter from that point forward.
  11. There is zero chance this is a negotiating tactic. The sun has set on Soldier Field for the bears, the only question is if Chicago can put up an alternative site, which there aren't places remotely comparable to Arlington. As for money, I don't think Bears will have any issue raising it. The Rams had to deal with the STL litigation, and had to act like they weren't moving to LA. Bears won't have the same issues, they aren't leaving the market. The NFL has none of the headwinds that the other sports are having, and when you add in the gambling aspect, that's where I think the partnerships will be pretty straightforward to raise the money.
  12. Why would this be such a low chance of homer?
  13. Yeah my playoff tix are in the upper corners, but I'm still floored with excitement. Because this is how age works: in 2000 I was 14 and couldn't go in 2005 I was in college out of state. in 2008 I was in college out of state. In 2020 we know Now, in 2021 I'm a grown ass man with my own income and can just make sure I get playoff tickets to potentially a world series game. It's insanely exciting.
  14. nevermind, went into the ticketmaster account and it was loaded in.
  15. I did this but still didn't get an invoice for playoffs, did you get yours yet?
  16. While we miraculously could back end up with a 2 seed still, it would take virtually winning out to finish 3 games ahead of the astros, and them going 2-4. Basically I'm saying let's go into the post season with our bullpen rested. But yeah I guess I'd rather have checked out someone like edwards jr who has been pitching ok in AAA. edit: well the benefit of wright is he can go a lot of innings so if one goes away from us he can just be the guy pitching.
  17. Stupid mike wright comment meant I lost the winner thread battle.
  18. 89 wins. I, personally, would not include mike wright on the postseason roster.
  19. My theory that I believe has like a 50% shot at being true is Nagy thought he would trick the Browns, who would expect their offense to be tailored to the strengths of a mobile QB, by instead running what Dalton would run. And then when it wasn't working, he doesn't know what to do because he's like Ron Burgundy where he can only run what he put on his playsheet.
  20. My friend texted me that keyshawn johnson said "The Andy Reid Tree got some dead ass leaves on it" and I lol'd pretty hard.
  21. I like that Perez has been catching like every day.
  22. Also yes I agree with Giolito - Rodon 1-2 Lynn 3 Cease 4
  23. I love Giolito and Lynn mainly because I have really high confidence that they can figure stuff out when it gets out of whack. Like the anti keuchels
