Do the White Sox have new minority ownership?
- Do the White Sox have new minority ownership?
well, not that there was any real threat, but I would feel good that an ownership group with Hobson would not move the sox.- Minor League Catch-All 2021
interesting pitcher group.- 2021 sox farm awards given by us, this subforum
I barely realized sunday ended much of our minor league seasons since none are in the playoffs. DSL is still playing. Anyway, here are my awards for best minor league years. I'm including guys that may have been called up to majors and succeeded as a factor in this, because that's what the minors are for. I'm not including rehabbing major league players though, but Yas was probably our best catcher. What a nice guy. My All Star Team For Minor Leagues - Name / Level / Age : Notes C - Carlos Perez / AA / 25 : Slashed . .264/.313/.418 in birmingham, finding his best power to date. He has always made great contact with just a 7% strikeout rate. TLR raved about his defense in ST, and I honestly have no idea why Nate Nolan is in AAA over him, but he plays a lot in Birmingham. Other Considerations: Xavier Fernandez, Adam Hackenberg 1B - Gavin Sheets / AAAMLB / 25: We know about gavin sheets. Other Considerations: Harvin Mendoza - just not enough power 2B - Yolbert Sanchez / A+ AA / 24: I struggled with this one since at his age he should have done this, but considering how poorly he hit for power in Cuba and his start to the white sox, his . 343 .369 .469 mark in Birmingham makes him seem like he's still on the way up Other Considerations: Lenyn Sosa SS - TIE Jose Rodriguez and Romy Gonzales : I'm not choosing here. Romy went for 20/20 in the tough power environment of Bham, crushed Charlotte, and is now in the Majors. He's played 5 positions this year. Jose rodriguez as a 20 year old went across 3 leagues, with steady power and unbelievable consistency. Other considerations: Colson Montgomery - good approach to start young career 3b - Jake Burger / AAA MLB / 25: we all know jake burger Other Considerations: Bryan Ramos OF (3) Luis Mieses /A+ A A+ / 21: After an awful start, Mieses went down to A and dominated, and since coming up has been a doubles machine. Finished year with a respectable .270 / .312 /.463 across both levels Yoelque Cespedes / A+ AA / 23: after a hot start in BHam his power slowed. He probably could be in AAA to start the year. I'm not really sold by the package, but boy is our outfield bad. Micker Adolfo / AA AAA / 25: Monster power this year, monster Ks. But I will give him credit, he cut down Ks a bit in AAA. But 24 Home Runs across two levels, and they didn't start until May. SP: Norge Vera - please enjoy the tax money Emilio Vargas / AA / 24: is he a prospect? I unno. Does he deserve to be on here after K'ing 99 in 83 IP, with a 2.9 ERA and our pitching being bad? Yes Kade McClure / AA AAA / 25: He was not very good in AAA, but again, we have no pitching. He k'd 77 in 63 ip in Bham, and he's tall. I think he can be a RP. Burke was good, but it was ACL RP: Theo Denlinger K'd 26 in 14 IP Alec Hansen is intriguing to me again, he came on real strong at the end, and found control and was k'ing people left and right Gil Luna struck out 14/9 and finally gave up an ER a few nights ago. Highlights: Infielders Lowlights: Pitching, pitching, pitching- 9/19 Games
There were games today and some fine stuff but yeah pretty boring. Good job burke- 9-19-21 White Sox Winner !! 7-2 over Texas
Was a fun game. I hope we give all of the regulars some chance to play together soon. Feels like Cesar starting to break out of it- 9/18 Games
So neither Thompson or Dalquist gave up a run in their starts last two nights, that's nice. colson slash now .287/.396/.378 ...he went to the moncada school of offensive production K rate under 20% now. Simas gave up an ER, but still an excellent start. His first ER was on a inside the park homer the outfield misplayed this is all I got for stuff. He's been great.- Popeye Rodriguez promoted to AA
I feel like at this point he'll never be highly rated, but I think he has as good a chance as any of the infielders in the top 50-150 of getting to big leagues and being a starter at this point.- Romy our 2nd baseman of the future?
I like Romy a lot. Let him work on 2b all winter, let him compete when he comes back. His K rate will be what makes or breaks him. Versatile, fast, power. He's got a lot of what you need, just didn't have pedigree.- 9/18 Games
Good Thompson game this far.- 9/17 Games
Not a bad start from Dalquist, and snuck his ERA under 5 finally for season- AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
This is cool. Go Romy- 9/16 Games
Colson was 2-4 with a 2B and no Ks last night. Again, game power didn’t translate but his approach is much more advanced than I expected- 9/16 Games
ugh, guy should have been in bham all year. Here's hoping he is legit.- 9/16 Games
Thats 6 Home runs for Quezada in DSL. That's real power in that league. .265 .362 .504 .867 That is really, really good. He is tied for fourth in the league with 11 other guys, but just hunting and pecking I think at 17 he's the only sub 18 guy who did it. And a Norge Vera update: 4 IP 6 ks 1 BB no runs- We are the ?
I'm pretty sure I've spent enough money at the team shop this year for the sox to afford seager.- 9/16 Games
I took @BamaDoc back to the future (you had it as 8/16)- 2021 NFL Season Thread
I think something that really, really, really annoys me was brought up on hoge and jahns today. You have to believe it's Nagy that chooses Jimmy Graham and that caused one of leno or fuller to need to be discarded. One had to go, but if you got rid of grahams 10 mill or so you could have made it work. TE is so important to his offense right? Graham got 13 snaps on Sunday. You had to cut a full time left tackle and quality starting CB for a role player? It's a huge deal, and it seems like he has been unable to fit his offense to his pieces, and instead demanded dollar store clones of his 2017 offense at the price of real strengths on the team.- 9/15 Games
- 2021 NFL Season Thread
I am not shocked there. Very disappointed. I wanted him gone after last year, but still thought it's possible as a ceo type coach he could succeed. For as much as we talk about hte quick hooks on coaches sometimes, nagy has not seemed to improve his decision making in year 4. It feels like it has gone the other way. The roster isn't that talented, and honestly he'll probably get what that roster should get. But he does seem to make a lot of really bizarre decisions. I do get calling your own plays even if you aren't good at it. You never know if you'll get a HC gig again, wouldn't you want to do it while you can? The other stuff though, absolute dreck.- 9/14 Games
Like he’s struck out 48% of the time and if he’s selling out for power that’s netted him like a .130 slugging- 9/14 Games
I try not to care about bad performances but man Elijah Tatis year… there’s “replacement level” production then there is “guy off the street” production… Hard to believe even a random high school baseball player couldn’t recreate his numbers.- 9/14 Games
Another Quezada homer, and a strong finish for Ramos.- The Sox can beat anyone. They can also lose to anyone.
The White Sox are a team. But they are also individuals.- 9/14 Games
