  1. sorry. I like Garrett.
  2. I just keep going back to if you look at the 2017 roster, with wily garcia/leury garcia/avi garcia outfield, playing alen hansen like 60 games. Bad Tim anderson, bad first year moncada. Bad Giolito and Lopez. Good first half quintana and a 5 ERA Ivan Nova. Mostly scraps. That team's record will finish, what, 25 games above this one? There is something so wrong here. The padres were crucified that year they drafted like 6 rule 5 players and they finished with like 68 wins. This level of bad is impossible, there are many AAA teams that could still get to 45 wins in the big leagues. And this team, with a bonafide ace, and often decent starting pitching, will not sniff it.
  3. I just have to say that I hate this team so much, I don't particularly like any player on it, I hate every coach on it and f*** jerry reinsdorf. Thank you.
  4. If the league offered to let the white sox just end the season, paying them the remainder of home games at an average of 20k attendance or something, and a loss for every game...would anyone object?

There was a period from late april to end of June where suddenly our pitchers were throwing strikes and lasting long into games. Seems like that has pulled back, seeing a lot more incredibly wild games (may be fatigue). Hitting wise, there is not a shred of sunshine. It is miserable.
  6. Exactly. I’m going to defend Tex here. Maybe the Marlins got a top 100 catcher in the back end, but there was a lot of “wow they got the #3 RHP prospect!” But very few hauls. Teams clearly had an idea on what they wanted to sell, and were less stringent on what they wanted. It worked against the Sox. It’s not all Getz, but it is a nightmare, because this was supposed to be our easy button to get out of hell. But no draft pick reward. No prospect haul for our vets. No front office worth a damn. This is truly the worst situation in the mlb. We are extremely screwed via the CBA, have no spending advantage, and have a landlord as a baseball owner while every other Franchise has hobbyists who got in it to win.
  7. Another tank win. oh f*** nvm
  8. Every Sox pitcher ”hmm what if I just throw it where he can’t hit it” umpire: “ball 4 take your base” ”f***” every opposing pitcher vs Sox hitters ”hmm what if I just throw it where he can’t hit it” umpire: “strike 3 you’re out” ”nice”
  9. It’s gonna be funny to watch them spend $40 million on the bullpen this offseason to become a respectable 60 win team.
  10. Got em right where we want em
  11. Still, on a day with 1000 trades and no top 100 picks, I think bigger scare is the market may be cold beyond the next offseason. The only way out is the hard way, and we have idiots in charge. There is no Haber to save us anymore.
  12. I’ll give DeJong credit, he’s the one position player who has outperformed Romy
  13. man soxtalk loves age appropriate or older relievers in A ball. They are amazed they are available for trade.
  14. jesus christ
  15. the league owes us something damn it.
  16. Man I just can’t keep these new schedules straight in my head. I thought there was only 15 min left.
  17. I don’t know, we did get two young position players yesterday. I think in general the closer to majors, the better, but with cease and fedde they’ve leaned on A ball returns.
  18. Those predictions are harmful to your health to look at
  19. Spencer Jones couldn't have been drafted by a more perfect team than the yankees, has started to struggle, and it makes me incredibly nervous for the yankees to have "softened" on his value. Judge was an outlier, and maybe the yankees found out how to make all that work, but maybe judge is just...an outlier.
  20. Perhaps the sox also signed DeJong thinking he was tall, realized he was normal, and have needed to go get the big boys.
  21. When was the last Yankees prospect that they traded away that was remotely good? Like the orioles getting that speedy guy 7 years after he was a top prospect to be good is like the best success story I can think of (and I really wanted him in the Kahnle deal).
  22. i'm not sure any other franchise in history would sit by and let this happen. Think about the 2017 roster. Was it so obviously better than this? Yet it will finish like 20 games better. It's a total failure.
  23. I don't think teams like to pay for control at the deadline. Like they want this years player, and they'll pay more if they can keep him for future years. But I don't think they want to pay the extra fee for a guy who may not be helping put this years teams over the top.
  24. He may have literally been sold for all we know about the ptbnl or cash.
  25. I think my reaction was mostly guided by feeling like I “saw the future” a few days ago (all the top prospects people were amazed by being traded a few days ago were all pitching driven, sellers were being more disciplined in settling for alternative options) and already coming to terms with it. Im just much more frustrated with the failure to turnover our hitting instruction meaningfully, our poor record in finding talent on the margins, and the attachment to veterans for zero reason in a lost year than these trades. I thought we had good timing in being sellers this year, but I don’t think we did. It also doesn’t matter until this s%*# org can take player development and international seriously.
