  1. I guess I’ll just say that this isn’t particularly that interesting. If sox like him and think he could be closer, it has benefit of savings in years other salaries rise. If he falls, we are safely in the area where over paying isn’t much of an issue. id blame the bizarre arbitration affinity for relievers for causing this. It’s not going to be hugely impactful, no where near in scale to recent extensions.
  2. https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/arbitration/relief-pitcher/ depends on health and what solid means. And who knows how arb progresses for next five years, this hedges against that.
  3. $10-12 mill will not be ashtray money.
  4. I mean. Gavin sheets too, there’s probably like a dozen more guys connected as kids to major leaguers I’ve never heard of
  5. Yeah sounds like it. Probs under 75k
  6. When we talk about locking up position players, the savings are usually happening in the club option/extension years. But with bummer it’s happening in his arb 2/3 years, that flexibility is nice.
  7. This is very likely false
  8. So this is 2019 then. Must be cheap
  9. Interesting. Where did this get reported?
  10. I think it’s good. Relievers have become super expensive in arb. They paid him upfront to avoid paying him $19-$20 million in his arb years. Smooths the commitment out. The club options are a possibly nice to have but beside the point.
  11. While Giolito taking a step back would hurt, main thing we need to know is we do have competent depth this year. Would be much better to have to find clear upgrades next few years, not merely a starter
  12. I wish NFl would make it easy on us and call them the Oakland Raiders of Las Vegas (like UNLV) and the San Diego Chargers of Los Angeles
  13. I have a hard time seeing the players available that clearly upgrade the roster. I do hope we get some fun camp invitees soon (salazar)
  14. I thought for Ohtani the posting fee had to come out of the salary. Edit: I should say that I mean the posting fee was included in the agreement as counting toward the cap.
  15. Yeah that article gets you hyped.
  16. Posts hidden, stick to baseball.
  17. I would be thrilled with Sam Presti.
  18. Same, but also Stafford would be unbelievable, would be thrilled.
  19. Gore looks filthy. Him and Paddack may be a killer 1-2. But yeah, injuries could derail it easily. I think they are in pretty good shape but made some poor moves.
  20. saw Eloy at soxfest. Didn't look fat. He likely won't be ripped, but he wasn't fat. He may have been wearing a k-vest, may have made him stand up taller and push his stomach out. I don't know if any of you have worn shirts like that, not flattering to light
  21. Yeah...bad news. Hate this time of year.
  22. nice to see Gammons run interference for the red sox
  23. Happy UCL Season everyone
  24. http://futuresox.com/2020/02/18/the-white-sox-are-eyeing-cuban-prospects-in-international-marketplace/ One - incredible work James. Two - I know some here will prefer Colas, but I'm just so happy to see this multi-front aggression for talented players. All these guys have real potential, some have even ability to be a piece sooner than later. It's such a breath of fresh air.
