Steve Stone Hinting At Another Move: Not Puig / Castellanos
bmags replied to Chisoxfn's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Plus I never know what to make of it when they move a guy to be pretty much a full time 2b in minors. Someone pointed out they used him all over in september, but still worry about the isseu if moncada is out with a hammy or something for 3 weeks. Now madrigal may be the answer here, and we instead can just focus on what's available in 2b which there is a bit more there. -

If anything I don't believe in Leury as a backup infielder. I really think we need something more substantial on the left side of the infield. -

That's not true. He called poppys opinion complete bullshit, then agreed with half of it, then expressed an opinion poppy already got at by saying engel would have never had 1000 abs with any other club. Poppy said people hate on these guys so much because they were overexposed, and they were. I'd rather get a true safety net this year, but all poppy has said was leury and engel are good bench spots, and I don't think that's "complete bullshit". -

There really aren’t many bench players that are clamored over so, not that surprising. -

You seem to agree with his point? -
I buy this but also this is the rockies. If rex grossman were an mlb front office it would be the rockies.

Sox are a very wise, long-term thinking team that is committed to making their budget work which is why they trade away their international budget for cash to give to their 33 year old 1st baseman, and we must never question them.
-
I've watched a lot of baseball, and I've noticed the teams late in the season tend to have great players.
-
Okay ignore the relations for a second

Have seen nada. I should clarify, we have been speculated to be in on colas if he goes next period.

I don't particularly think arenado is a play or am going to care that much, would have liked the Rendon route. Like the Betts route. I just think it's silly for people to convince themselves that adding fantastic, elite player like arenado is actually going to hurt them. I haven't seen a particularly crippling package, though the levine-proposed cardinals package that was apparently false was way more than I would give or expect them to receive especially at this point. Edit: But also I know if it came out that Arenado was pushing to the rockies to trade him to the white sox like Stanton pushed to go to the yankees people here wouldn't be like "No, this is bad. Just pay for Mookie next year"
-
If we were willing to sustain the rockies payroll it also wouldn't be an issue.

wait so jadaveon clowney's brother is named Demon Clowney?
-
why wouldn't you move moncada to second base?
-
Haven't seen it yet, but my assumption is that every big-budget british film needs to invite every british actor or they get upset.

Didn't hear this criticism of "Four Brothers"

This year will be the first year in McCormick Place and that makes it a little harder to give great insight. I actually have never been on for the first day, but anything that is a seminar I've always seen plenty of space even in sellouts. So I wouldn't worry too much about getting seats but even arriving 10-15 minutes prior to that should be fine (especially since it's starting 4pm on a friday) Autographs/photos some other posters may need to give you info. People do lineup in advance for that, especially for popular players. So if there is anyone your son really wants to do that for you may want to clear out the hour prior. I might be wrong, but there seems to be a lot more of these kids only and mini field things, so I don't know how easily accessible those will be but they look fun. The kids club press conference is always pretty cute. Hopefully this helps. New place is kind of a wild card, seems like they added a lot more stuff concurrently so maybe it makes the player access easier. There's also a lot of merch stuff to check out. Have fun with your son! I'll be there saturday.

It's not about feasibility of a trade (none of those teams have been able to trade), it's about doing it in a way that doesn't burn more bridges with the player. Red Sox publicly posturing has been that they are not trading Betts, not openly engaging in it like the Rox. I'd say cubs are not openly engaging in the bryant stuff either, but they have not been shooting it down.

Teams that handled potential trades of stars well: Red Sox Teams that handled potential trades of stars poorly: Rockies Cubs

I think we should exhume old comiskey and get to the bottom of this. -

the game is very fast. Great announcing too. I've watched that youtube 2-3 times for odd points. The crowd shots are soo good. -

Hi, you are on a baseball message board.
-
Hasn’t even thought of that. That is really bizarre

Probably a factor, but others have similar pressure (luhnow to get accepted into a position again, hinch as manager, cora etc.)
