  1. Right, I guess I don't think they are the most likely, but I would be pretty surprised if Texas wasn't among the top suitors based on behavior this offseason.
  2. Listen, you guys may be measuring the bulls based on the scores of games or like wins, but he's measuring them on growth. So, unfortunately your opinion doesn't matter.
  3. I actually think Rangers are very likely.
  4. This was great. Nice to see the sox open up a bit on this. Did not realize where this guy came from. We heard from Sarris that the previously sent around list of teams and their # of analytics employees was misleading due to some teams use of vendors. Sox poaching a top guy from their vendor that made wearables is very reassuring. Getz definitely going to have a line to walk with getting buy-in, but he's certainly known what needed to be done, we just have to hope it's fast enough to take advantage and give an edge soon.
  5. I don't know, doesn't seem that steep but yeah I think LA is most likely.
  6. Oh definitely, but I learned a lot about Ramos/Gladney from it.
  7. The third base writeup was so good
  8. I really like a lot of the teams, and I think bucks will be competitive against any finals team, but how much of the winning percentage will be driven by the bottom half of the conference being the pits? The bulls themselves are buoyed by how bad the teams beneath them are. Detroit was at least decently competitive last year, now the injuries destroyed them.
  9. It is unbelievable to me that the Bulls are somehow only 3 games back from a playoff spot, but also could be better than 6 teams in the league, let alone the conference. The nets with irving back will probably expose a gap, but man, as bad as the east always is, it is astonishingly bad this year.
  10. That would be fine if he actually did that but he has really only had one class that looked like that.
  11. If trading moncada makes them better over the next 4 years you consider it. But you are overvaluing years 5-7 when you don't have near enough information to do so. The rebuild has developed a fetishism of the long-term that has made it feel like it is always worth sacrificing the immediate year just to improve competitive odds 6 years from now.
  12. Mets THIRD lol
  13. so BA did a "top 100 prospects of the latam class 2019" Sox only had one guy, it was yolbert (at #33). Just hope they either way overproduced from the penalty classes or were right about tatis/sanchez
  14. They could have an arbitrator rule. Players could submit independent evals and opinions from independent sites like BA saying they were likely ready and likely to be better than what was live, teams could provide internal statements, etc. If a bearing on the ruling is what is available on mlb roster, it could provide more jobs to vets as teams try to show they had a better option on the club. I could see it being better than this.
  15. I don’t think this is right though. Thomas, Arod, Ross were mostly just guys that hang around and do some spot coaching in spring training and are generally available for org events. Mendoza, at least in her announced position, they said she’d have input in player evals and roster construction. That’s a different level of access.
  16. Mieses and Comas were on track at least. Kannys the jump, so we’ll see who has a possible big league future quick.
  17. absolutely. It was insane either side allowed that.
  18. Awesome on Thompson/Dalquist. That's about what they did with Adams too (though adams/danish pitched a bit more their first year post draft). Kanny/W-S not going to be the most fun this year, but Kanny still has some stuff to watch. Really excited for short-season ball though and see some of the progression from last year. Bounce back years for Bush/Sosa would be great.
  19. oh man, so much nicer not to have to x out of 15 autoplay videos. Congrats on this, I'm sure it was a huge effort.
  20. I guess I wasn’t alone
  21. Tough to summarize. But it was first time I’ve ever heard him, not even sure I remember an article interview after his new role. Hes very enthusiastic and I appreciated that he got really wonky while explaining things very clearly. He covered a couple times the difficulty scouting prospects across different maturity curves, such as a prospect from Vanderbilt who is already on a mlb nutrition and hitting plan be a guy at Indiana state. He brought up that Gladney was drafted by them largely because he was an EV darling at a workout they held. He said they would not favor college over high school under him (and I believe him). I appreciate how available Hostetler made himself to blogs and media, but he was a bit arrogant and loved to mostly talk about how much they knew about guys. Shirley loved to talk about the process of evaluating guys. He was super interesting. This from Y2Jimmy summed up my thoughts
  22. Mike Shirley was SUPER impressive
  23. So glad I have a replacement for BHB
