  1. Wow yeah super relevant in the thread about trading for manoah
  2. He also is a bench player who has no starting role but god I hate nick Lopez so I’m grabbing him.
  3. Come on guys, Remillard isn’t a spring chicken here. Romy is done. Sosa, I’m ok with.
  4. I read some BA chat in like 2015 praising the cards for turning dejong into an unlikely shortstop because of his height and it probably wasn't dejong but boy did that stick with me. Everytime I saw a closeup of that young man I'd think" wow, that's the face of a tall man"
  5. jesus christ my whole life i've thought he was 6'5"
  6. I will say this : The idea that this prevents a Sosa/Rodriguez tryout just isn't true to me. This guy was waived last year. It doesn't stop you from doing anything.
  7. Listen, Does he hit the ball hard? No Does he walk? No Does he make a lot of contact? No sorry I forgot where I was
  8. I'm...dreaming...of a whiiiiiite anyway I like DeJong. As I've said before, he is impressively tall. Someone said they wanted to root for Merrifield cause he runs smart and is fast and tries hard. I ... am just like being impressed by this big tall man.
  9. Probably. But the combo of shoulder issue + attitude making them open to leave + being so bad last year he was optioned is definitely a hit to the ole value block.
  10. Also I'm in on this line being very close to good. https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-2024-free-agency-primer-best-free-agents-every-position While most of that list will never see the light of day, I think it IS likely Connor Williams of the dolphins is available. Adding a veteran center that can snap a ball and not get injured every game will be a big help. Braxton has looked very good so far, and I just don't think they are coached very well/the constant swapping of positions has been a terrible idea.
  11. Rosenthal article on blue jays being willing to move manoah https://theathletic.com/5074023/2023/11/19/mlb-free-agent-woodruff-braves-trades/
  12. What if we proposed a Kopech for Manoah swap? I think what will be said is "they will get something good for Manoah" and I suppose that is true. But what I'm presupposing is, maybe it's not? White Sox Acquire Alek Manoah, Cavan Biggio Toronto Blue Jays Acquire Michael Kopech, Gregory Santos, Ky Bush These are the things a rebuild is made of.
  13. one of the better things BA does. Not an inspiring list for position players yet, but they always add more. https://www.baseballamerica.com/stories/mlb-rule-5-draft-preview-2023/ select snippets position player
  14. Highly recommend spending money on financial news sources but not investment news sources. WSJ and bloomberg news will help build your strong opinions on what may be undervalued/on the rise/ready to sell. Investment info makes you feel like you should be making constant adjustments. But yes, i'd just recommend putting aside some money in VOO or SPDR and then when you feel strongly about some individual sector or stock, it will be easier to perform research on its status and how to invest in it.
  15. These are the things one says in the offseason before they remember that watching some wily old veteran slap a weak grounder to second base at bat after at bat isn't nearly as romantic as it seemed.
  16. He's not. Mayer is going to be an incredibly good receiving TE. 12 personnel is increasing in usage in the NFL especially by 49ers and eagles. Having one of the best receiving TE prospects ever (which kmet is not used in that role) allows you to build an offense with multiple weapons and would work extremely well. What's a waste is to use a high draft asset to grab a top edge from an extremely weak edge class because your bad team has a need for it.
