  1. At this point I see him as a 9 hole hitter for a while and hope around age 25 he starts to put it together. I think he's going to need a lot of reps to get his offensive game to maturity and I hope at maturity it is a bat you'd put at the top.
  2. OTH saying a virginia player isn't very powerful doesn't mean much, maybe a swing change guy.
  3. K's a lot, not very powerful. walks a bit.
  4. Chipola is like a really good CC right (for baseball)
  5. DSL used to have a gameday person and that was nice and hilarious. My favorite part of DSL is how often runs score with no hits being recorded. Either insane errors or walks galore.
  6. Decent stats here https://d1baseball.com/player/1LmLBaiB/jeremiah-burke/ Uh, i think our only day 3 pitcher with more ks than walks.
  7. 2080 puts up what they get. They have a lot of boring highlights but also, not a criticism, it's great how much video content they have for all types of prospects.
  8. Gladney is a fun one. Rules: - Position player with plus raw power and poor hit tool = fun - Pitcher with big arm but no control = sucks
  9. Ht: 6-3 | Wt: 194 | B-T: R-R Commit/Drafted: Eastern Kentucky Scouting Report: Gladney is a big and strong third baseman with a promising bat and plus raw power. There’s contact issues right now to go with the power. There are more concerns about his defense as a number of evaluators believe he will end up in left field eventually. He’s signed to go to Eastern Kentucky.
  10. Caleb Freeman Texas TechRHP Notes: Ht: 6-3 | Wt: 205 | B-T: R-R Commit/Drafted: Never Drafted Scouting Report: A glance at Freeman’s statistics would seem to preclude any idea of him being drafted. Freeman was expected to be Texas Tech’s closer thanks to a 94-98 mph fastball, but he’s much more of a thrower than a pitcher and his velocity dipped to 92 mph at times. Most importantly, he can’t find the strike zone. Opponents hit .393 against Freeman, as he went 2-0, 6.75 with 12 walks and 12 strikeouts in 14.2 innings this spring. Freeman shows flashes of having a plus breaking ball to go with his sometimes plus fastball, but his 20-grade control and command keeps him from taking advantage of his high-end stuff.
  11. It may just be being more selective. If he can hit everything then he should be more comfortable looking for pitches up and in that he can drive.
  12. Beard. He is going to be so much fun (unless he sucks).
  13. Yeah I like our 11th rounder but pretty boring rest. Which doesn't mean anything long-term, just not as fun on draft day.
  14. Can you imagine being Chandler Fidel and being like "wait who got drafted? https://lrtrojans.com/documents/2019/5/23/LR_Baseball_Combined_Overall_Stats_19_.pdf
  15. Uh, another one with no BA scouting report. His K : BB rates would be decent if he was a hitter but alas he is just a bad pitcher.
  16. JACOB CANTLEBERRY IN THE HOOUUUUUSSSSEEEEE @Quin
  17. Here's something, Leadership Christian Academy has a decent alumni list (this is for not real person Misael Acosta) http://www.thebaseballcube.com/hs/profile.asp?ID=15123
  18. He strikes guys out. He is a criminal justice major so that may come in handy. He would like to play professional baseball after college, so that was a dream come true.
  19. So...tough sledding for scouting reports on these guys (or google existence) Pretty sure Misael Acosta is fake name.
  20. Man I missed the first two picks. Anything on our 12th rounder? Also really glad we are talking about summer catch. I love movies where they need to show you how funny they are by constantly having the characters laughing at each others jokes a lot.
  21. When I hear interviews with Madrigal I honestly think he was trying too hard to get W-S to win and at Birmingham they need him to be one of the best players offensively, so maybe he will double down on that.
  22. I think we have been underaggressive with promotions but this has been one where I don't necessarily agree with it, unless they want to show to him he needs to rework his swing and think birmingham will convince him.
  23. Reminder that getting drafted players to the big leagues is a huge success in itself, and with that, day 3 has been pretty productive. Seby Zevala and Danny Mendick were both day 3 picks that are either up or look to be up (uh, maybe new september rules doesn't bring up danny). Aaron Bummer was day 3 as well.
